“My husband and I visited The Columbine Cafe in Breckenridge last weekend. We loved the cozy inviting atmosphere. It reminded me of some of our local eateries in Kansas. The service was great even though they were busy. The food was great as well and the cost was very reasonable. I got the reuben and my husband got chicken fried steak. We will visit again in the future!“

“Cozy cabin with a fire located at the top of the Ptarmigan lift. It was a convenient meeting spot for my friend and I, and wasn’t quite as busy as the main ski lodge at the base of the ski area. There is also a small fire which you can stoke yourself (we saw families stoking it together & the kids really enjoyed it!) Great place for a mid-afternoon pit stop.“

“Good food!! Large portions we are stuffed to the brim! Fast service, polite and clean. Great stop“
“Black mount lodge pretty much has it all but is well known for their burgers and barbeque. I had the cheeseburger with fries for $20. It was the best lodge burger I have ever had. I heard the barbeque was amazing but I did not get the chance to try it. I also ate breakfast here at one of the Uphill and Chill events and it was amazing. All you can eat chef prepared breakfast and mimosa bar for $35. I highly recommend it if you are up for the challenge of snowshoeing or skiing up the mountain. The menu consisted of Crispy Pork Belly and Waffles, Sweet Potato Hash, Scrambled Eggs, Country Biscuits and Red-Eye Gravy, Strawberry and Asparagus Salad, and Blueberry-Banana Oatmeal Cake. The mimosa bar had several purees and fruit to add to your bubbly as well as juices.“

“Stopped by Mountain View Coffee Bar while in Breckenridge because the location and views are hard to beat — and they really are beautiful. The ambiance is great, and sitting with a mountain view definitely adds to the experience.
That said, the coffee itself was just okay. Nothing bad, but nothing memorable either. Normally, that wouldn’t stop me from leaving a solid review if the service made up for it. Unfortunately, the experience at the register didn’t help. The person working the checkout seemed disengaged and almost annoyed — no greeting, no thank you — and I noticed the same nonchalant attitude toward another customer as well.
To be fair, I did notice another staff member at the register later who had a much better attitude, so this doesn’t seem to apply to everyone. Still, first impressions matter, and a simple hello or friendly tone goes a long way, especially in a place with so much foot traffic from visitors.
The space and views are great — I’d just recommend more consistent, welcoming customer service to match the setting.“

“Very cool café. Great menu, kids loved the ice cream. The Hot chocolate hits the spot when its snowing out. Views of the ski peaks are sublime. Highly recommend this place. Take the Gold route bus up or the Peak 7/8 gondola ride from the parking lots below.“
