We stepped away for 5min from our table to get a pastry after our sandwich and came back to our table being cleaned off lol. They do free refills so it was all good. “Update: After hearing back from the owners, I realize that they are new to the business (less than 1 month) and are still learning the ropes, so to speak. I do believe in extending grace in situations like this, so I bumped the original score to 4 stars instead of 3 with the belief that the speed of service will improve over time.Original post: After reading several reviews, we decided to try this custard place.I parked near the park, so we had a 5 minute walk there. Since it is paid parking, I went to the one of the parking machines and saw you can get 30 minutes of free parking, which I selected, figuring we’d have plenty of time. When we arrived, the line was long, maybe 10-12 people. I soon realized that this line wasn’t really moving. After standing there for 20 minutes, I left my family in line, walked back to the car, drove around looking for a closer spot and got back to my family. There were still people in front of them. When we got to the window, I realized why. There was one person both taking the orders and making each item. Another person was cleaning and doing other things around the kitchen area. That person did help a little bit with our order. So how was the custard? It was good, but it didn’t stand out to me as anything special. We ordered two Turtle Splits and one custom Avalanche with cookie dough. As I said, everything was good. I’ll also add that it was a very fair price. (Note: The menu prices are cash prices; there is a small fee to use credit card.)Seating options were limited around the side of the building. When we were ready to leave, we tried to find a trash can. They didn’t have one that we could find, so we put everything in one of the public trash cans nearby. So would I recommend this place? If you like custard and don’t mind a long wait, absolutely. If there’s no wait, then definitely give it a try!“

“So glad my boyfriend knew about this place. I became disenchanted with craft beer a long time ago cause its always the same unimpressive bitter options at like every brewery. Not here! I got a flight and loved all 4 of them.Food was fantastic. It's been forever since I've been to a restaurant that had an actual homemade veggie burger patty and not that Impossible burger garbage that has plagued the entire industry. But what always makes me happy is good service. The staff here was GREAT! Fast, attentive, friendly. So hard to come by usually. The service was well above my usual experience anywhere I go.Whenever I'm back in Manitou I'll be here.Vegetarian options: The quinoa burger was great, they have an option for tacosDietary restrictions: Vegan options with modification. “A wonderful location and family running this little bistro/catering establishment. This little restaurant is pretty disarming for a reviewer. The moment you enter the establishment you realize it is an intimate family affair. The husband appears to run the front of the house and his wife (Susanna) creates in the kitchen. They are very sweet, endearing and the service was top notch from beginning to end. Their pricing is very surprising for what you receive, making this easily one of the the best bangs for your buck in all of downtown. The atmosphere is light and airy, the music was playing at the perfect volume and it was comfortable inside on a cold winter evening. My only minor critique would be it is the lighting is a little too bright with all the white walls and ceilings. Some amount of dimming would add a helping of warmth that would simply close the deal on their dining space.Their cocktail menu is better curated than many places downtown and as discussed above their pricing is amazing (not to mention their happy hour specials). You are getting crafty cocktails for nearly 30% less than you would at dozens of other places downtown. The two traditional old fashions we ordered were excellent, while the Mezcal based old fashioned, orange blossom martini and daiquiri were each a little overdone. Going a little overboard with the Mezcal made the Mexican themed old fashioned overly smoky, the orange blossom martini had a smidge too much vermouth and the daiquiri was overly sweet due to a touch too much syrup.Onto the meal. For me, the highlight was our appetizer. We ordered the Caprese salad with the charcuterie supplemental for 2 people. The Caprese was incredible, the use of blood orange infused olive oil is a stroke of genius. The charcuterie selection was also excellent with a generous Burrata, multiple meats, cheese, olives and fruit. This came out with bread rolls and naan along with some herbed butter, hummus and more olives. With two things changed this could have been one of the best charcuterie boards I’ve ever had. First the Burrata was served cold. While I prefer a warm Burrata, even room temp is acceptable, but when cold it really impacts the depth of its flavor. The second was related to the bread/crackers served with the board. It appeared we were given, what all patron’s receive as complimentary, which is a basket of dinner rolls and few pieces of naan. While these accompany the hummus (which was clearly homemade and amazing) and herbed butter it didn’t really support the charcuterie offerings all that well. A few Crostini, gourmet crackers or simply grilled sliced bread with a little olive oil would have made a huge difference when consuming the meats, cheeses and accoutrements on the board.Next entrees. My wife had the fettuccine Bolognese and it was excellent all around and the dollop of ricotta was a nice touch. I had the evening special, which was Steak Au Poivre with three gulf shrimp. I ordered the steak medium and it came out as a pretty thin cut of tenderloin, which was a bit of a surprise as opposed to the more traditional 1" medallion. I think the consequence of this was it was cooked closer to medium well, but it was still very tender. The sauce was what unfortunately hurt this dish. The brandy or Cognac used in the sauce was not completely cooked off, so I ended up with an alcohol taste off the back end of each bite. The dill coated gulf shrimp, mashed potatoes and asparagus were prepared perfectly. And finally dessert. They have many tempting options, but the waffle with peanut butter ice cream ended up being amazing and a great one to split.I’m nitpicking a little in this review, but it was a continuous theme from our first of what will be many experiences here and they are inches away from excellence in executing all aspects of their menu. With a little fine tuning, there is no reason they shouldn’t be a fixture downtown for years to come. Support small business!“

“Iconic. Amazing. Beautiful. These are from the reviews of others, and I'd echo these terms and many more, with regard to this incredible wonder. I've long wanted to drive to the top and we did so on a recent visit. It was early November on an uncharacteristically warm day with beautiful clear skies as we began our ascent, and the weather stayed perfect the whole time, getting colder as we ascended of course. The drive itself starts out very mildly in terms of grade, and frankly, excitement, but it definitely saves the best stuff for later. Once you get into the seriously twisty and steep bits, the trees start to part and reveal the spectacular views as you get higher and higher. Our rented Toyota 4 Runner was more than capable, and got us up and down with aplomb. We were initially excited as we reached the summit, until we got out of the car and headed to the visitor center. It was at that point that my wife and I both realized we had a bit of altitude sickness, in the form of dizziness, light headedness and she even had a smidge of nausea. We were surprised and how, well, almost terrible we felt. We grabbed a couple of quick pics and began our descent, and we began to feel better soon thereafter. So, be prepared for the possibility. As we came back down, we stayed in first gear on the 4 Runner much of the way, and at the mandatory brake check, the checker commented that our brakes were under 100 degrees and that we were doing a great job. The view was even better on the way down. If you're ever in this area, this is a must-do and must-see. It is everything that everyone says, totally awesome.“

“The drinks are good, the staff is nice and courteous. But let's be real, the prices are high because it's the only coffee shop that the tourists can easily see. The local "high society" customers roll through with their pinkies in the air too.I much rather spend the extra money than patronize a business that hates the military and made us pay for water during 9-11, I was there! So support your local private owned.Vegetarian options: There's no meat grazers, its a coffee shop.Dietary restrictions: Cheat day approved.Parking: Its a drive through, not a hang out spot.Kid-friendliness: Kids eat muffins and like to drink.Wheelchair accessibility: Just stay in your vehicle and you can still roll up.“

“Nice chill tap room connected to a bike store. They serve a lot of Cerberus (which is next door) on draft which is great. Lots of indoor bike parking near the entrance. We went Monday evening and there were a few seats at the bar and a few tables (good for being the day after St Patrick’s). Bartender was nice and friendly, drinks were very good! I had the Scottish ale and would highly recommend. So glad to have these places in the neighborhood!“

TRiNiTY Brewing Company - Forge Road Brewery Brewpubs • $$
4630 Forge Rd # B, Colorado Springs - 4.85 miles

“This place is less busy than the main brewery and it’s hidden gem. We came in on a Saturday afternoon and it was nice and empty. I’m sure the owners are not too happy that it’s empty but for us craft lovers, it was bliss compared to the hectic Saturday nights that everybody’s used to. I hope they keep this location open for a good minute and I hope it doesn’t become overcrowded once it becomes discovered.“

Be sure to also take advantage of the M-F happy hour drink menu! Would highly recommend. I look forward to coming back when in the CO Springs area again.“

“We are on a house hunting trip from Phoenix and stopped here to have a drink and lunch. The food here is phenomenal. Had gumbo and it was superb. Perfectly spiced and balanced with ample, sausage, peppers and the right amount of rice. Had sirracha and chipotle wings. The wings were smoked and then fried crispy. They were served with carrot sticks, and the dipping sauces, blue cheese and ranch, were homemade and absolutely delicious. Kerrin was our server and she too was great, attentive and helpful. Will definitely be back. Highly recommend this restaurant.“

“Nice spot in Woodland Park! They have good coffee and spend a little extra to not use the run of the mill beans on both the espresso and the drip. They use an air pot for the drip that you can get your own refills. Staff is friendly and plenty of parking. They have house made desserts. The sandwiches are around $15 but they are a good value. They have plenty of meat, condiments and seasonings. The spicy italian is delicious.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free optionsParking: Plenty of parking“

“I come here fairly frequently to work remotely and every time I come here the atmosphere is so welcoming, peaceful and for lack of a better word chill! Every barista I have been served by has been so patient, kind, and helpful in connecting me with the best first sips. However, I have to compliment Hayden on his amazing customer service, sincerely welcoming and upbeat attitude-- seriously the best and chatting with Hayden every time I come in it is a highlight. Hayden sets this coffee shop apart for me in regards to other places in town. Its the staff that makes this place awesome!!-River“
