“My first visit was last February for my birthday. My friend had pre-arranged for the 5 course tasting menu/pairing. It was the perfect introduction to the restaurant and the culinary talents of Chef David. When a close friend had a milestone birthday I knew this would be the perfect locale given his Italian heritage. He’s picky on bread since he makes his own - he couldn’t get enough of it and was excited to find out it was made on site! Recently, when I saw the braised rabbit filled buttons I knew I had to return. Since it was just me and a last minute decision I was thrilled to get a spot at the bar. I can tell you the attention was exactly the same as if I were in the main dining room. First time visitors should splurge on the tasting menu! Grazie mille Chef David and the entire friendly team.“

“We completely enjoyed our first visit to Geppetto on Valentines day. The atmosphere, my wife pointed out, seemed to make Connecticut disappear and Italy appear in it's place. The menu is comfortable and small which we like because it says that real care will be taken with your meal...and this was clearly the case with each of two courses we enjoyed. The grilled octopus and my wife's Quail antipasto were prepared perfectly. The bucatini all'Amatriciana and lamb was fantastic and delivered hot and delicious. We shared a blueberry tart type dessert. Thanks also to Jenna for her great service, we left with smiles on our faces and intentions to return again.“

“Amazing!!! I stopped in Sat. 3/9/24. I ordered a breakfast sandwich with ham & cheese in Gluten Free bread. They toasted the bread and the egg was cooked to perfection! Such helpful staff and so grateful for the GF bread. I will be back.????“

“I forgot to mention on my last review that we always get a vegan pizza to go with our dinners. It is really great crispy pizza with vegetables on top but no cheese. I'm sure all the other pizzas are equally delicious. Lasts for days in the fridge and can be reheated in oven- not microwave because that makes the crust mushy! Really good place!“

“After walking around on a cold, windy day hot, delicious pizza was perfect! We live supporting small businesses, and this family-owned place fit the bill. You can tell a lot of care and pride go into the preparation of the food. The tables were clean and well cared for, too, which is always appreciated. Great service and prompt delivery of the food. “The food was decent ( we had cheese ravioli with marinara and chicken frances) but overpriced for what is was. The marinara sauce was a little watery so the ravioli just kind of sat on top of it but it had decent flavor.The salad was fresh and the bread was good too. The waitress was friendly.“

“So despite the name, Big Daddys does have eat-in service, and also appears to be part of a gas station? The location is a bit off the beaten path, but plenty of parking. I found a certificate on Restaurants.com for the pizzeria, and it was a good deal. Lunch and dinner at a discount! The burgers were pretty large, as were the fries if you ordered them as a side. The pizza had more of a tomato-acidy sauce than sweet, but a good amount of cheese. You could order by the slice inside. There is also ice cream, onion rings in the hot food area, and baked goods wrapped for desserts. There's both Coke and Pepsi in the coolers, and chips behind the window side booths. They also have a bar area and sell on Slice! Big Daddys also does local delivery on certain days in the evening. Goodness, there's a lot going on. Plus, a good flow of pick up orders. The gentlemen at the register seemed to have a good handle on things though.“

“They are located behind a gas station in Litchfield, CT. They rank up there with Bigfoot and UFO's in terms of things you might randomly find while driving. That being said, make the effort. Their pizza is awesome, with perhaps the most perfect crust I've had. Everything else on their menu is well done, too. Why does all the magic happen behind a gas station?“

When they first opened this place the food was incredible, and then it was below average, and now it changed again. Last I went it was just average, nothing like it was when it first opened. But by no means was the food bad!2nd experience: I believe there are new owners, the food is significantly more bland, and the drink I ordered was way too bitter.“

“Just ordered a medium size grinder and I wish I had a large. The bread was warm and toasty and NOT SOGGY turkey was amazingly warm and light the cheese was melted to perfection complete with a cheese pull with every bite. Highly recommend, the best grinder I have had in a long time and I would say the best in Torrington PERIOD“

“As far as sub franchises go (Subway, Firehouse, Jersey Mike's, Blimpie's, etc), Nardellis is as good as it gets. Their sandwiches can be a bit dry, though, and can feel like there's "too much bread". But their ingredients are top-of-the-line. This particular location is ok.“
