“We were a party of 5 so we got to sample the menu pretty broadly. From appetizers through the entrees and to desserts everything was well prepared and tasty. Service was excellent; our waiter was knowledgeable, friendly and not intrusive. Wine list was not large but had good offerings at several price points. Physical environment of the restaurant itself was quite pleasant. An older building on the fringe of Waterbury's downtown. Sadly that downtown has seen better days. Within, the restaurant is extremely pleasant. High tin ceilings; dark wood; interesting chandeliers. A pleasant environment for dining. Overall, a very nice dining experience. All 5 of us agreed we would happily return.“

“Had to get my phone fixed so looked for a place local to the Apple store that I could get to without a phone. First stop was Tomatillo but it was more a fast food vibe and didn't exactly match what I saw online. So grateful that happened because that is how I ended up at Casanova - fanciest deviled eggs I've ever had but the real winner was the Branzino - I am a branzino fan and this was the best, most amazing melt in your mouth branzino I have ever had - butterflied and amazing - seriously a must try. As for the drinks, I am a margarita girl and had a nice spicy one though it's not on the drink menu but my server made a recommendation and I honestly regret not getting the Montalcini Mentalita from jump - very refreshing and great tasting cocktail. Highly recommend this restaurant to everyone - you definitely won't regret giving this place a try - you know it had to be good if my phone is ready and I'm still on my laptop writing a review :) Andria was an AMAZING server - thanks to him I have discovered a new favorite cocktail.“

“First things first; Please understand that this is Strega’s fine dining experience. It’s a different vibe than the Milford location. A bright and modern aesthetic, no pizza, a few speciality mixed drinks and the restaurant holds 6 tables with 24 people max. Please don’t let the stark difference deter! It’s very intentional. The experience for us was truly special. The staff were top notch, and the food absolutely delivered on taste, presentation, quality and intrigue.

We did the chefs tasting menu. We were pleasantly surprised with plates we would have never ordered otherwise. An experimental dive into Italian cuisine, the chef plays with interesting pairings and bountiful ingredients, but absolutely sticks the landing.
Fettuccina Di Seppia - Cuttlefish Linguini, Orzo Alle Erbe Di Campo - Barley Risotto, and Trofie Al Pesto with Shrimp Tartare were among some of the offerings we enjoyed.

A few specialty cocktails were available. We were delighted with a Grapefruit and Rose libation, but all sounded tasty. I went with a wine - a couple wines-by-the-glass are available. I asked for a dealers choice, and it delivered. Tons of wines available by the bottle.

We wrapped it up with 2 small deserts; tiramisu and cannoli with freshly made cocoa whipped cream.

All and all, Strega New Haven did not disappoint. We knew the experience would be different compared to its Milford location, and we embraced it tenfold. Thank you to the chefs and staff - we’ll be back!

“We visited tonight and it was absolutely amazing. The food is prepared with generous portions and perfectly seasoned. The sauces were so tasty and the entertainment on Thursday is excellent for a relaxing night. The complete experience scored a ten and I plan to recommend this gem to many friends to enjoy as well.“

“Came here on a quiet weeknight and was amazed by the authentic Italian cuisine. Started off with a wonderful Burrata then I had the Rigatoni Bolgenese with was really good. We also bought a loaf of the Italian Bread to bring home. That bread with some Cabot butter and you are on to something!! Would visit again.“

“I give Villa Lulu a solid 4, bordering on 5, but I'm so fussy, it's probably a 5. I save 5's for something so amazing I just can't describe it. After a brief snafu with who our waiter was, the staff was super accomodating with everything. They kept their promise to get us to the show on time. So, service ended up a 5 but started as a 2 or 3. Food, we had a variety of salads and appetizers, two main courses for 4 of us. All were very good., to excellent Atmosphere, 4, and I only detract because we had to walk up a steep flight of stairs to the dining room, so if you are physically unable to make the stairs, your options will be limited. There is al fresco dining but it was too cold. I am sincerely looking forward to returning and trying more options at a more leisurely pace because it's the type of place where you can actually carry on a conversation without the clatter of dishes and the intrusion of others' conversations. It's very warm and cozy and would be good for a romantic dinner. Reminds me of "The Big Night" kind of vibe.“

“Wasn't sure about this place when we pulled in to the parking lot but so glad we gave it a try . I ordered the Zuppa di pesce ( one of my favorite hard to find meals ) absolutely everything I was hoping it would be and more . Very extensive menu if you can't find something here to tickle your taste buds maybe your not human . The service was awesome. The restaurant itself ain't very fancy but a steady flow of traffic of people picking up and calling in for orders . They are definitely doing something right . Me and the wife was in from out of town for a funeral. And we was very satisfied with our meals and service . So if your in the area this place is definitely worth the stop .“

“I stopped in for a Roast Beef grinder and small container of potatoe salad. The bread was fresh, the roast beef, Boar's Head brand, amazingly tender, and tasty. Perfect mix of condiments, seasoning and vegetables. I have lived in Seymour for quite a few years, and had never tried the grinders, I will be back.“

rolls, fried zucchini with marinara sauce, my entree was 2 sautéed soft shell crabs & pasta.
The service was amazing! Food delicious!
I decided I had room for dessert. I sat in the lounge and had a scrumptious chocolate lava cake!!!
I don’t want all of my food delivered at once. At Carlito’s I didn’t feel rushed. Warm rolls and ice water. Appetizer. Salad. Entree. All served after you have finished the previous course. I enjoyed a very relaxed evening!

“We've been coming here since they opened in Woodbury, and it's safe to say that they're still just as good, if not better. Everything I've ever had here is always hot, fresh, and tasty. If I ever have time, I always try and come in for a slice of Buffalo chicken pizza. It always comes out in a timely manner, and is constantly amazing every time. The owner is extremely friendly, and makes for a great experience everytime. While they may be priced a little higher than some other pizza places, you are absolutely getting what you pay for.“

“Tried Pizzaro’s Pizzeria for the first time. My wife and I shared a large antipasta salad and a large cheese pizza with garlic, half pepperoni and half broccoli. Everything was great. While this is more a takeout place they have large booths and the service was excellent. The salad was awesome and so large we took 1/4 of it home. The pizza was excellent. Thin crust with a delicious sauce. I’m not a fan of the outer crust but this was so good I ate everything. I highly recommend their pizza. We have to go back and try their subs and meals as I witnessed many people getting these and pizza for takeout. I give it five stars. We will be back.“
