“The Course & Layout
Classic & Challenging Design: Unlike modern, heavily commercialized rock-and-waterfall courses, Farmington is praised as a fantastic, traditional-style course. It features classic obstacles (like a spinning windmill, bridges, and water traps) blended with clever contours, slopes, and angles that test even experienced players.
Condition: Reviewers consistently highlight that the property is immaculately clean and very well-kept, with lovely flowers, well-maintained carpets, and clean brickwork showing minimal wear.
The Famous 19th Hole: Visitors love the signature bonus 19th hole feature. Instead of just retrieving the ball on 18, players take a final shot at the 19th hole for a chance to win a free game.
🍦 The Ice Cream Parlor
The Sweet Finish: Right alongside the course is their popular ice cream parlor, making it a quintessential summer stop. While some reviewers note it offers standard classic flavors rather than avant-garde creations, it remains a beloved tradition to grab a cone or dish after a round.
⭐ General Review Consensus
Pros: Beautiful, scenic landscaping; a genuinely challenging layout that is fun for adults and families alike; and a great overall classic mini-golf atmosphere.
Cons/Things to Watch For: Because of its popularity and design, it can get busy during peak summer weekends, leading to some pacing wait times between holes. Some players note that the course relies on strict rules and specific group-size constraints during busy hours.
Overall, it stands out as one of the staple miniature golf destinations in Connecticut
perfect for a date night, family outing, or a casual weekend activity.“

“I recently moved to Hartford not too long ago from Manchester, and this is the best Rita’s I’ve ever ordered from. Though I’ve never been in the store myself yet, they have been super accommodating and sweet through DoorDash. The management team is very kind! If they don’t have something they will let me know as soon as I place the order. All in all, please order from them. You won’t regret it.“

“Their LimeChocolateChip and HoneyLavender are STILL my favorites, but there are so many flavors you'll weep, because you can't try them all in one go.... or can you?😂
DeepRoots street food next door is also excellent!“

“Stopped in today during a work break I deliver in the area and the ice cream was awsome. I had the graham central station it was spot on and one of the best graham ice creams I have had in Connecticut. I live in southington we have a few shops but nothing to this quality. It was well worth it. There prices are on the high side but what do you expect in Avon Connecticut lol. Nothing is cheap in Avon but all in all it was worth it. It was about 6 bucks for a small with sprinkles. The girl working was very nice and fast service also. Great work by this place I will return when back around for sure. Awesome excellent ice cream I recommend it to anybody from Avon or surrounding area.“

“Great ice-cream and friendly staff. I was here for their free cone day to benefit MS. There was a very long line but some of the staff was outside offering samples so it was kind of fun. Everyone was in a good mood and chatting. Staff passed out lists of flavor offerings so people could get in and out quickly. The line did move steadily. There was also a fabulous face painter there for the kids and a musician performing outside. We'll done!“

“Amazing ice cream! I got the Cappuccino flavor on a cake cone. It tasted fresh and had just the right balance of cinnamon to coffee. If you go further into this charming shop, you’ll find some bites to eat. I tried the chicken bites and waffle fries. The service was quick and the food was fresh. Everyone who works here is very nice, and Chase was a pleasure to talk to. Will definitely be returning next time I visit Simsbury.“

All portions were generous AND Delicious. tried to go again...but on days it wasn't open or too late. maybe this week! Nice, nice addition to our neighborhood.“

“I’m literally only giving it 5 stars because the old owner Harvey was a good guy and very business savvy. He knew my name and what I always wanted. And he connected with his customers. And that kept a HUGE clientele.
The new owners don’t know my name and are unfriendly. They are not exactly cheap and I still support. It’s a nice spot in town. Residents in West Hartford frequent there. It would be nice for them to be friendly, adaptable, relatable, down to earth and get to know their regulars who support them.
I personally will try to continue to support.
Let’s hope it’s only up from here! (Please get to know your customers!)“

“Overall, Ben & Jerry’s is a great spot to stop by for a scoop of ice cream! it’s been a staple of W. Hartford Center for many years now, and I’m grateful that it’s maintained such a long-term presence. The staff are always friendly, kind, and very efficient! The price is a little steep, but so is everything in West Hartford these days.
Overall, there’s a good selection of ice cream! I consume only dairy free ice cream, and usually they will have at least 2 to 3 flavors. The selection of dairy ice cream flavors is more expansive, and they truly have something for everyone in terms of taste. Their shakes and smoothies also looked delicious as well!
Unfortunately, the line is usually extremely long in the summer. The last time I was there, in late June, the line stretched all the way out the door. There were only two employees working, and they seemed quite young. They were doing a wonderful job, but it looked like a lot to juggle. In the warmer months, it may be helpful to staff more people due to the sheer volume.
I wanted to mention something that occurred at my last visit that concerned me. The line was extremely long. The couple in front of us had two medium-large sheepdogs. The dogs were extremely anxious and nervous being in such a long line and in a small and cramped space. They were clearly not doing well. A staff member kindly asked the couple to bring the dogs outside. They were obviously not service dogs as they had no vest or badge and were clearly not trained to be calm in stressful situations. The couple then proceeded to lie and say they were service animals. The staff dropped it, but I feel that a sign may be helpful for the front door stating service animals only. It was uncomfortable to see these dogs in distress in such a small shop, they were whining and very anxious.
Just wanted to give my feedback! Keep up the good work (-:“

“WE only discovered this branch of the Frisbee group late in 2021, but we are devoted fans now. First off, the ice cream was voted some of the best in CT ( via the Newington store) by Channel 3-TV subscribers. Next, it is the only source for No-Sugar Added ice cream in the Bloomfield area. And the site is lovely, despite the farm now being inactive. There is corn-hole for the kids to play on the spacious lawn, and plenty of parking. Finally, they keep the farm-store open more months of the year than most places, roughly April to November. We can count on a great dessert more than half of the year at Frisbee's .“

“Cute little place with mini golf and batting cages. Perfect little summer activity - with mini golf and a snack shake. Around the corner tons of outdoor seating. Went with a couple of friends for ice cream and food. The place Defs hit the spot- nice classic American food (hot dogs, nachos etc)“

“Despite the fact that my area has Friendly's Ice Cream, Foster's Ice Cream and Dairy Queen (all wonderful brands), we seem to gravitate to Carvel. The store smells remarkable (no fried food smell), the sheer simplicity of the menu (ice cream, ice cream and more ice cream) and they have the best soft-serve. Plus 2 for 1 sundaes on Wednesdays makes it a irresistible destination.“

“Best ice cream around town! We moved to the area last year and discovered this spot while driving one day. We visited once and never stopped coming back. My family and I get our sweet treats from here at least once a week. We love it so much we wish they were open all year round ☺️ but nonetheless we look forward to coming here during the summer months. If you do decide to stop by, try their seasonal apple crumb caramel ice cream. It tastes just like an apple cider donut. You won’t be disappointed.“
