“I would like to share my recent experience at Saray Bakery. A couple of days ago I placed my order over the phone and went to pick up on Thursday. There was a mistake with my order and it wasn’t ready. The employees seemed very apoplectic and told me to please give them 15 minutes and they will fix it. Even tho I was really in a rush i decided to wait. The ladies at the counter were so hospitable that you couldn’t be mad at them. The offered me a free coffee and 2 cookies. One lady came over to apologize again and explained the situation while the other lady worked on my order. They make my order quickly and put in another free pastry to go. That was so nice! At the end it’s not the mistake that matters it’s how they handled it and how they made me feel! Thank you lovely ladies at Saray Bakery I will be back :)“

“This review is long over do. This women has been blessed with the gift of baking. She makes things up and it comes to life. I can't go there too much because she has caused my family and I to become addicts. Baby she make a sweet potato cookie. Its not your average cookie plop some dough and bake. It has a buttery sweet crispy outside and in the middle a creamy sweet potato surprise. I have tried a lot of things in this bakery but that cookie is my goto. I dont buy just one. I get one for the car and one for home that I cut in 4s so I can stretch it out. I am currently in cookie rehab right now but I will be relapsing on Tuesday. Go check it out I promise you won't be disappointed. I forgot to tell you the customer service is phenomenal and the staff is amazing I will add pictures when I go back. See you there.“

“We ordered cupcakes last minute. They were able to accommodate us and they looked amazing and tasted amazing. We had a variety of flavors, vanilla, chocolate, funfetti, cookies and cream, lemon, and banana. Every flavor was amazing. Our guests were obsessed. My kids also loved the cake pops, and I loved the macaroons. So good!! They did not disappoint! We’ll be back ❤️“

“I ordered a few trays of cookies for a party I was hosting. I called, a little flustered because I was feeling very last minute. I explained how many people I was hosting and that I didn’t know what or how many to order. They were unbelievably patient with me and told me they would take care of it. And did they ever!!!! Freshly baked, beautifully presented, and SO DELICIOUS! I was thrilled. Guests impressed. Delightful variety. I will be back and I highly recommend you check them out!!!“

“My husband surprised me with a Princess cake. I mentioned I’d love to try one after seeing it in a baking show. He searched online and Marjolaine’s was the only place he could find. He drove over an hour to pick it up and it was well worth the drive! We just picked up a Dacquoise. This one was a request from our daughter. We tried a smaller version that was in the case. It was absolutely delicious! So light and airy and the flavor was divine! We are driving this cake all the way to NC and are 100% certain that our daughter will be thrilled ! We are heading back in the beginning of April for a Marjolaine for our daughter in law. It is well worth the trip!!!“

Booking a tasting was super easy, and as someone planning from out of state with limited time in CT, I really appreciated how flexible and accommodating they were. The tasting was so fun, and our cake turned out absolutely delicious and stunning! We didn’t have to worry about a thing on the day—they coordinated directly with our venue, and the cake was there waiting for us when we arrived. Highly recommend!“

“So I went over a friends house for dinner and he had a Lupi's Bread on the table, Looked great. Tasted better. He told me about this little bakery in New Haven at 169 Washington Ave Lupi's Marchigiano Bakery. I went the next day for another Bread where I met Larry Lupi a true gentleman. His grandfather started the Bakery in 1900 when he came over from Italy, and now is being run by Larry and his brother Peter. So If you want to taste a little piece of heaven, stop by Lupi's and for a few bucks you can.

“Can’t recommend Wildflour enough!! Alyssa is an absolute gem. We had a rough idea of what we were looking for and she brought it to life perfectly for us. Not only was the ordering and design super easy, Alyssa was very communicative throughout. We received a ton of compliments on both the cake and truffles. Everything tasted fresh and the frosting was to die for! Would absolutely order from Wildflour again.“

“It's an international bakery. I was looking for some European cakes but they had only one type of cookies. I guess it depens on the demand what they make. Great hard working people and everything looks delicious. I purchased several small cakes and pastries, all has too much sugar in it, but otherwise all are delicious. The icing was not super sweet., and the cake was moist and just the right texture. Even though I did not purchase the cake, I wanted to write a review. I’m terribly sorry that you lost a star but that matcha brownie tasted absolutely disgusting. Never again will I buy it!!! Sorry sweetheart but it’s lacking sugar. However I do love the sweet cream filled bread you sold me. Thank you very much for helping me figure out what I want for breakfast tomorrow. Lastly, the cream green tea cake was absolutely divine. “my family ordered lunch from Isabel's to eat at home, but weve also stopped by in person to eat little snacks. so many food options on their menu and its all delicious, and I have a restrictive diet, but I still can eat many options. also, the hot chocolate, if you arent a big fan of Mexican hot chocolate, you can get a cup and mix it with american hot chocolate at home and it becomes incredibly delicious. idk, thats what I do when I get hot chocolate. I like trying to go to Isabel's when I can, theyre nice people and cool“

“I got a cake from here 2 years and it was exactly what I wanted (the heart cake). My husband loved the taste and kept mentioning it when it got closer to his birthday this year so I, of course, had to get another one. It was AMAZING! Everyone loved it and a few said it was the best cake they’d ever had. Yellow cake with cheesecake filling and buttercream- highly recommend. Steve was also great with communicating and working through my indecisiveness about the design.“

“The little outlet store attached to the great big bakery is a fantastic hidden gem. I can't recommend their breads (real, flavorful, crusty breads) and pastries enough. And I always look forward to chatting with Susan when I'm picking up bread for the week.“

“I kept hearing about this restaurant and I was finally able to go. The staff was so nice. The menu had a great selection to choose from and all the food was amazing and full flavor. I only took a picture of the taco salad but the steak and cheese was amazing too. We are very picky about our souvlaki which I joked with the waitress about too. The souvlaki was so good that I can’t wait to go back and get more. The portions are very big too. Desserts of course were yummy too! Highly recommend.“

“First time customer, I was very impressed with the quick and friendly service. Food was delicious (I had the pizza and the sushi) and the ratio of fish to rice in the roll was amongst the best I've ever had. Definitely my go-to place next time I'm in New Haven!“

“On the Sunday before New Year’s day, Wednesday, I went into the bakery to personally ask if they were opened on New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day and if they could fulfill an order for quiche pies. They said they were opened and they could be picked up on New Year’s Day morning. I ordered a few quiche pies and a few stuffed breads and paid for them in full. Today on New Year’s Eve I received a phone call informing me that they will not have the order ready for pick up on Wednesday and then I can pick it up on Thursday despite my specific needs that I expressed to them in advance. The staff was indifferent to the problem that was caused. I asked for owner to call me and I was told he was John Chaves. I didn’t hear from him for a few hours and I resigned myself to them not resolving the problem they created. Later in the evening, after considerable time to purchase the ingredients to make the goods at the last minute, I received a voicemail that the bakery would have my products baked and ready for pick in the morning as was originally determined. Although I never spoke to John Chaves, I suspect that he was instrumental to make good on the promise of having my order prepared as originally planned. Thank you John. I gave a 4 star only to because of the hassle, time and money spent to have an alternative plan but the food was great as always. To other customers, when the bakery staff doesn’t resolve a matter that is the fault of the bakery, call the owner! It appears he does care which is refreshing in this day and age. To the bakery, don’t change the arrangement with the customer after you excepted the sale.“
