Cozy, inviting atmosphere with good food (sandwiches, snacks and pastries) and coffee made on site by talented staff; premium local goods are also available for purchase. Our experience was enhanced by a delightful musician. Not to be missed any time.“

“Our friends recently moved into this area, and this is our second time here and will not be our last. We are here and it was delicious. The smash burger is oh so messy, but oh so worth it. My chicken sandwich was grilled to perfection, and it was a generous sandwich, enough to share. They have award winning wings, and I can see why, they are very unique and delicious. You should really give them a go, especially the PB & J coating. Staff are super nice, and we had to leave just as an awesome two piece band started up, and they sounded great. Can’t wait to see it in the summer.“

“Nouveau Monde has the feel of a Paris restaurant. Dark, and romantic with soft lighting. The service is top notch. Accommodating yet not hovering over you. They are there to clear and serve smoothly. The food! We had Scallops and the Salmon. Both superb! The appetizers were the Thai Steak Skewers and the Potatoes. Again fabulous! “What a pleasant surprise! After a search on Google Maps for a restaurant with vegan options, we made a detour from our road trip to the Catskills to stop at this Middle Eastern restaurant. My husband and I shared a VEGAN Mezza Special (12 plates) for two: Hommous, Baba Ghannouj, Tabbouli, Stuffed Grape Leaves, Falafel, Luby (Green Beans), Spinach Pies, Foul (Fava beans), Moujadara (lentils), Mousakaa, Fattouch (salad), Olives. We have dined in other Lebanese restaurants in the US and in the Middle East, and we both agree that the quality of the food in this restaurant surpasses them all. We were served by the owner Maha Hanna, who told us that her husband is the chef who created our delicious meal. We will most certainly be back whenever we are in the area!“

I have never had a pizza be this constantly good anywhere else in Connecticut which is surprising coming from a place so close to New York. “Great little place in downtown Bethel. I've been here a few times and I've tried the fruit bowls in the bowl and in the mason jar. The pitaya base is my favorite followed by the açaí. My kids like the banana base with Nutella drizzle. They can also out the whole thing in a bowl made out of a pineapple which is a pineapple sliced in half vertically. I want to try that next. The bowls are very good and you get a good portion for your money. It also doesn't take very long to get your order which was great.“

My wife had avocado & egg salad sandwich, which is one of her favorites. It's small and has only a few tables and a small counter, but it is comfortable. Many customers order take out.The price for lunch was very reasonable; $17 for 2 sandwiches. I spent more on a few of their deserts for take out.There is plenty of parking in a rather nondescript strip mall. Once you are inside you easily forget that you are on the busy main road.Dietary restrictions: They have Gluten Free bread and wraps so I was able to have the grilled cheese chicken sandwich, which was really good.They also have a selection of GF deserts; cakes, brownies etc.“

“I had the tuna poke bowl. It isn't a bowl and was a little small, but it is just an appetizer, so not surprising. It was delicious! Some friends had the hawaiian salad; everyone liked theirs. The desserts (creme brulee and banana egg rolls) were delicious. And all of this sitting outside by a babbling brook. The Foundry is one of my favorite area restaurants. I can't wait to go back!“

We waited too long for our pies to arrive. Initially we were given the wrong pie and then waited another 10 minutes for the correct pies to arrive. We also noticed another table of two patrons had only one pie arrive and then they had to another 10 minutes for their second pie. Our waiter seemed to want to talk cocktails and work the bar rather than return to our table. We had to ask another waiter for the check... and then take our payment.Bad night? I'm not so sure. On a prior visit for take-out, my phoned-in order still wasn't ready after the 45 minutes that was suggested.... And it took another 15 minutes for my pies to be cooked. They seem to have a real issue with scheduling and timing - which is difficult to understand - they have a pizza oven and they're making pizza, they're not stabilizing the Leaning Tower of Pisa.I'm torn. Pies are great, but the waiting, er, grates.“

“The Barnwood is our go to for occasions as well just to eat out. The wait staff are very good . Our orders always arrive promptly, and as ordered. In addition to a well rounded menu there always are wonderful specials. We have never had a meal that we didn't like. The chef is inventive and steps outside of the ordinary with fish and meat selections. The only negative is that the acoustics are dreadful making it noisy when the restaurant fills up.Also the tables for two are small.“

“This place was really great! First time I'd ever been since they changed the name. Went for a fun night out with my nephews fiance. She's not from the area and I'd really hoped to show her some cool spots. This did not disappoint, even on a Tuesday. We got the loaded tots app and green monster pesto pizza. The tots were a but spicy, but nothing that burned our mouth. Just gave us a few hot flashes and some laughs. But really, the food was Excellent. We were there pretty late, saw the kitchen going home. Even as we were the only 2 ppl left, we'd asked the waitress if we were holding her up and she was so sweet and accommodating, never made us feel like we had to leave. I did tip well as a result. “BEST Italian anywhere nearby and worth traveling into Bethel for. All Italian wine list has something for everyone and the staff is happy to help. Amazing cocktail program and rotating draft beer, and we haven't even mentioned the food. This is classic Italian (no parm list or gloopy pastas here), and you get a true taste of Italy. They run weekly specials to keep the menu fresh and change the entire menu seasonally, using local farms as often as possible. A true gem in Bethel!“

“What a fun shopping experience. We were on a road trip to Connecticut and my boyfriend suggested we stop by a Stew Leonard's. I had never been and it had been years since he has. It literally is an experience. We took two laps through, one to get the lay of the land, and the second to pick up some goodies. You walk in and there is a bakery with fresh donuts and an ice cream stand. There are tons of samples throughout the store. There are also a bunch of interactive animatronics around the store too. The bakery was extensive. They had a great seafood area and where you could get hot lobster rolls made to order. The produce area was so overwhelming in a good way! So many different varieties of different fruits. The food in the buffet and pizza area didn't look great, but the convenience of it is great. There Is also a coffee bar, where we grabbed a tasty latte. We took a second lap to grab some goodies; the famous cookies, some of the different varieties of applies, and had to top off the trip with some Stew Leonard's T-Shirts. I see these there are some in North Jersey...hope they eventually make their way to Central Jersey!“
