La Bastide and their upstair restaurant are perfect for 2 different kind of dining vibes that I would consider a revisit for. “I must submit a rave. Excellent coffee, as good if not better than most cafes in New York. Is it the machine or the coffee that makes an Americano taste like an espresso with crema on top. The savory crepes are the French galettes - whole wheat -- while the sweet crepes are the traditional flour crepes. All are substantial and generous, including the Norvegienne that is filled with smoked salmon. I tried one omelette; it was so generous I left half of it behind. Some weeks i have returned as often as two or three times. Cannot say enough good things about Trini, the manager. I look forward to their opening for dinner. during the week.“
