“Wife and I went out to dinner and as usual food was on point. Base menu is always good and they always have a seasonal menu of great options. I tried the smoked old fashion and it was a home run. They put on the whole show and smoked the drink right at the table. Definitely not a disappointment. They always have seasonal drinks and come up and ask how they were. Lots of care in the food and drinks they put on the menu.“

Now THIS is my kind of place! Tucked near the Appalachian Trail, Bull’s Bridge Inn has that dark, cozy, old-school tavern vibe that makes you want to pull up a stool, order something good, and stay awhile.

There’s an actual bar, comfortable booths, plenty of tables, and low lighting that gives the place real character. The crowd is a mix of locals, nicely dressed tourists, and backpackers who have wandered in straight off the trail. Somehow, it all works beautifully. No pretension, no trying too hard—just a proper old-fashioned inn and bar with personality.

And then there’s the open-faced steak sandwich with shoestring fries. Do yourself a favor and order it. Seriously. It’s the kind of meal that makes you stop mid-conversation because suddenly, eating is the only thing that matters. Absolutely worth the trip on its own.

I love places that have a genuine sense of history and character, where the atmosphere is as satisfying as the food. Bull’s Bridge Inn delivers on both.

“To start with, I love the thick menu! I love that they give the back stories on the local products/farms they use. And the plethora of options make certain that both my husband and I can find something we like no matter what we're in the mood for. It's also nice to go to a restaurant that has more than the same 6 things everybody else has and to know those items are made with locally sourced products. I can end with a cupcake made from scratch which also supports another small business instead of something premade from the same manufacturer everyone sources their desserts from. It's a win for me!“
