“Small, cute diner a few minutes off the highway with many vegan options. Worth the stop if you are looking to stay on your vegan diet. Fast, friendly service. Good quality. The vegan burger was tasty, loaded with toppings, and filling. It’s worth the stop. Updated from previous review on 2025-05-24“

“This restaurant is lmost hidden in a small strip mall, just a quarter mile from the Orange West Haven line, this family run, friendly Taqueria is definitely a hidden gem. As you walk inside the vibrant colors and ambience surround you with hand painted Mexican scenes on the tables, carved colorful chairs and warmth from the friendly staff. There are only about 12 or so tables. The food servings are generous and full of fresh vegetables, cheese and delicious well cooked meat. It is a great place for a relaxed meal or take-out. Support this easily accessible Post Road family business and enjoy!!“

“I've been stopping at the Sandbar for a couple years now, My usual Go to items are whole belly clam rolls or dinner and a Scallop roll or dinner The seafood is always cooked to order, Battered and deep fried and is always delicious While the restaurant might not seem spectacular to some, its a nice place to pop into if you like battered seafood not overcooked but just perfectly cooked its easy to miss leaving elm st if you get on the Kimberly Ave Bridge into New Haven you went past, coming from New Haven cross the bridge and its right at the foot of the bridge on the right side“
“Reliably excellent. Loved the choices of margaritas, all delicious. Food was top notch, with friendly, attentive service to boot. Since opening, La Palapa has provided a consistent and dependable culinary experience which keeps us coming back. Thanks for the memories.“

“Been coming here since they opened years ago. Food and service are always on point.
Excellent food, good staff, and the decor is well appointed.
I had the Gun ManDu fried (aka gyoza / pot stickers) and the assorted dishes they bring for appetizers, and the JjajangMyeon (Noodles with Black Soy Bean sauce) for the entree.
With a beer and my wife's dinner of O jing-eo Dolsotbibimbab (Squid Stone Pot Bibimbap) it came to under $50.
We will be returning with friends and family.“
