“After 48 years of making pizzas and all foods they have not skipped at beat always consistently great taste and plenty more years to go. It's a charming place with a nice patio friendly wait staff who are attentive and hard working. We never had a sour experience making this place a regular spot for a relaxing meal with plenty of choices
Along with pizzas their fish'nchips are one of my favorites with enough for another snack at home. The restaurant is clean the atmosphere is family orientated as the lady owner greets everyone as her family of friends with kind words of welcome back.It's a treat to look forward to the next visit.“

“This restaurant is take out or delivery only. Probably one of the better tasting pizza in the area. The pan pizza has a nice crisp on the crust, which is also very light and airy. Hamburger topping appears to be processed meat. Would order from here again.“

Something about their pizza does it for me, favorite style, super well done for that particular style, and it’s relatively affordable.I also love their subs, all of them. Shout out to the steak bomb and the TKO (chicken bacon ranch, honey mustard, mozzarella).They’re quick, the people are always SUPER SUPER SUPER friendly, and food comes out hot.But here’s the deal… they need a rebrand.I’ve seen burritos on the menu there for years and never thought to get one. With that said, nothing about this place screams “Greek” to me besides the font on the menu and the Ακρόπολις on the logo (alright maybe a few of the specialty pizzas - moussaka and town hall, I see you. Gyros, ολα εν ταξη, relax.)Tonight I finally did it, I got the carne asada burrito that they had on special and it blew my socks off. For $12 (market rate for the area IMO) you get a huge burrito, wrapped and easy to eat, no dripping, they grilled it, tons of steak and avocado. Man oh man, it hit the spot and I’m just so happy I could cry.Deep River Pizza Mexican. I don’t know if anyone that works there is Mexican, I don’t know if burritos are inherently Mexican, I don’t know what I don’t know and I want to be better.What I do know is that people need to know about this.Chester, Deep River, Essex is grossly devoid of a Mexican spot that’s open late BUT this is at least maybe Mexican adjacent and open late enough for me (9 pm weekdays, 10pm weekends).Get down to Deep River Pizza (Mexican?) and get yourself a burrito. You’re going to be mad that nobody told you to do it before.I am thrilled.?

“That was tasty! We got the vegetable and chicken platter, side of meatballs, and eggplant parm entree and the portions were big and easily shareable. Loved the tomato sauce! The prices were very fair and the bread was fresh that came with the meal. Food came out fast, hot and fresh. Thank you for providing crayons and paper for our toddler!“

My partner is a NY pizza snob and I grew up on Wooster Street pizza, etc. By far Grand Apizza in Deep River has the best and most delicious food. Plus they’re consistent in flavor, texture along with all the goodies.“

“This place is more for take out, but they gave a few tables inside and some picnic tables outside. The service was great took our order and the pizza was ready in no time at all. Their NY style pizza was authentic I was able to fokd their slices in half and the cheese to topping ratio was perfect. The staff was very friendly as well. We onky had pizza this time, but plan to go back and try other items on the menu. I would recommend this place to all my family and friends.“

“We found another one of the Greats today! Grand Apizza started off in the 1950’s and was in New Haven for 50 years! Then the dad, Fred Nuzzo sold the building and moved to Clinton. The same pizza and they opened 3 restaurants, Clinton, Guilford and Madison. The dad went to Clinton and so did we. Let me just say… the pizza is so good! The sauce is top 5. Endless crispy crust perfectly made… and tasty saucy sauce. The garden pie was also quite special with just the right amount of tangy balsamic vinegar! I was super happy to meet Fred’s son, Mike. You can tell he is very humble and proud of their amazing piece of pizza history. Legendary pizza today. 9.7 solid score for the cheese. The tomato pie was a 10. Perfect 10. It’s something that can only be experienced verses spoken about. The garden veggie was an 8.3. “We have been enjoying Chow for years and everything we have ever had from them has been delicious but yesterday… Father’s Day, they went above and beyond! They were packed and after waiting for a while for my take out order (understandable for a busy night) they confessed and profusely apologized because in the rush of the busy evening one of my pizzas had been dropped. Without missing a beat they promised my pizzas would be remade and delivered to my house…. Half hour away!!! That is stellar customer service!!! “I am a big fan of B & W’s overall food quality especially the variety of salads, especially the tunafish & fruit. Met a woman from Branford who comes especially for their Broccoli & Tunasalad a ***** always fresh. The homemade dressings delish especially the Honey Lime my favorite. Yes standing in line is never easy but servers work very hard to keep up with food requests & always willing to make the selections exactly as requested. We on the Shoreline fortunate to have such a great place to order such a variety of home cooked food.“
