“As someone who doesn’t live in the area, this place was recommended to me by a local coworker. While the restaurant itself is casual and unassuming, the food was incredible. Everything we had was better than expected, and we learned there is a reason almost every table around us had a plate of wings! The French onion soup was also one of the best I’ve ever had. We found out from our wonderful waitress, Jade, that a lot of what makes the food so good is how much is made fresh in house, down to the caramel sauce! Jade was so sweet, I would ask for her again if I made the trek back (and I’m seriously considering it after the meal!).“

“I’ve driven past Philly Grill in Waterbury many times and kind of second-guessed it, but it really surprised me. I ordered a Philly cheesesteak with fries and it was amazing—full of flavor, fresh ingredients, and the fries were perfectly cooked. I was greeted as soon as I walked in, and my food was brought right to my table. Great service and even better food. Definitely coming back!

Update: I had to come back after how good my first visit was. This time I ordered the lamb and beef gyro with fries and it was absolutely delicious. The lamb and beef were cooked perfectly and seasoned just right, and the lettuce, tomato, and onions were fresh and crisp. Two visits in and they’ve been consistent with both quality and flavor. Can’t wait to try the wings next!“

“Good service with very attentive waitresses. Food is delicious and cooked perfectly. They do have size options for the pancakes so if you are not into giant pancakes you can downsize. Atmosphere is comfortable but not overwhelming. The price is a nice plus to coming here, even though they only accept cash, but that keeps their prices down.“

“jimmys food is excellent! however I was there for the 1st time last week, our waitress was not friendly with us. no personality, no smile..brought our food put it down walked away, said nothing. then 5 mins later, as she was walking by the table threw the receipt down, said nothing. Never came to see if we needed anything else or how the food was, she never offered desert, so we didn't get that. I had to go to the counter and ask for a box, as again she never came back to the table. there were only a few tables full, so she wasn't overly busy, meanwhile I'm watching the other waitress there, smile and laugh with her customers. I wish I knew her name, because she definitely needs to learn people skills. ohh I also heard her complaining to a customer who she must've known, about her training someone and now the other girl is waiting tables and she was not happy that this girl was doing her job basically 🙄“

“We had my daughter’s baby shower at Lola’s. From the start of booking until the day of the shower. So easy to work with. The day of the shower, we were greeted with such warmth and truly our waitress for our party, Becky, was fantastic. Catered to our every need and was so beyond helpful. “After a wonderful meal on New Year's Eve, we returned to BRT for Valentine's Day dinner. The food was off the chart delicious, from the calamari with blue cheese and hot peppers to the shrimp scampi with mushrooms and bacon. Not to mention the incredible tiramisu. “I ordered a filled bagel and a cupcake. The service was very friendly and warm, and quick though there was quite a queue. The bagel was excellent, great taste, with a small side salad. The cupcake was really moist and beautiful, the buttercream very creamy, and tasty all-in-all, though very sugary! I would recommend this place for the excellent bagels and kind service, and the cupcakes for the ones with a sweet tooth. Maybe an idea for the future to have some sweet products that don't pack quite as much sugar, but I'm definitely coming back for another bagel!“

We were ready to leave but had put in our order and wanted to try food. The food Was decent but pricey for amount you got. Called manager over to show him how thick the dust was on ledge where everyone sits And eats. He said he was new. Not an excuse. Restaurant was empty now I know why. The whole place smells dirty as soon as you sit down and have to breathe in one spot. This restaurant will not last if things don't Change. It will be a repeat of Chips restaurant all over again.“

“I'm new in the Bristol area. One day I decided to come eat at friendlys and ever since I've been coming here. They are friendly here, the food is always fresh, neatly served and delicious. I love it and so does my 9 year old daughter. I'd recommend friedlys to others any day , and I do actually. My niece comes here too now with me all the time

The chicken fried steak (hard to even find in New England) is outstanding. The salads were awesome: perfectly dressed with great crunch and freshness. The Cassoulet (originally a French farmhouse dish) with chicken, in-house sausage, and white beans cooked to perfection is something you will not find in many other places. Great bar--friendly atmosphere and great for large groups and celebrations. This is a hidden gem with excellent service and owners who obviously care! I will go back and bring many other guests here when I have a chance.“

The young waitress forgot to put in for 1 pancake as partner requested a little late but she completely forgot altogether & then told us it was almost done, should have admitted dde forgot to put in for it! Then she never came back to get us a 2nd cup of coffee. Busy at times but it only takes 10 seconds to pour coffee & the mugs are extremely small! Seems she catered to larger tables (bigger tips)! “We live in town and had never been to this restaurant, but decided we should support our local businesses more. My dining partner had the stuffed chicken breast which he enjoyed immensely. I ordered the Bronzino with dill sauce. The buttery dill sauce maybe could’ve used a little bit more acid like lemon but it was very enjoyable. The rice pilaf was cooked perfectly, and the beans were also cooked nicely with some sautéed garlic and butter. Service was spot on.“
