“Ordered 30 wings, one entree , French onion soup, and buff cauliflower.

Everything was exactly as we ordered it, order was ready on time, food was excellent, and soup traveled really well for takeout French onion, which is hard to pull off.

Highly recommend the takeout if you cannot dine in.“

“We had my daughter’s baby shower at Lola’s. From the start of booking until the day of the shower. So easy to work with. The day of the shower, we were greeted with such warmth and truly our waitress for our party, Becky, was fantastic. Catered to our every need and was so beyond helpful. She worked very hard and was so pleasant! The food was amazing and plenty of it! Guests went back for seconds! Becky even went above and beyond for my mom who couldn’t eat something and prepared a new one just for her. Truly a gem of a place! “I come in here all the time but my service was beyond exceptional tonight. Mike and Sophia were very quick in regards to getting me a new drink when I was low and the wings were phenomenal. 10/10 service. Plainville is by far the best location … probably because Chris keeps an eye on things 24/7“

“It’s Applebees..I generally go to stores that are under 4* for reviews with a consensus to not expect too much other than the food ordered and it could be hit or miss.
Food - Got the all you can eat special with the wings and fries with the Cole slaw, second plate..switched up and got the ribs/riblets, 3rd plate went back to the wings..should’ve stayed with the wings. As far as food goes..the ribs are why the star got dropped.
Service - They only had 2 waitresses working, the third had to leave so they shut that side of the restaurant down..the two waitresses absolutely busted their tails as there was 10 out of 14 tables full of people, people would leave and others would come right in.
Parking - It’s in front of a shopping center…there’s loads of parking and separate for curbside and handicapped spaces.
Bathrooms - Clean
This is my second time coming here in about 3 weeks. Strictly because of the “ribs” is why I gave this a 4* review, and I don’t know if they classify them as ribs or riblets. I see others posting about bad experiences; I can’t speak to that as both times I’ve been here, I haven’t had an issue with the food or with the service. On a scale of 1-10, I would prolly go with a solid 8.“

“Celebrated my 7 year anniversary tonight! Going here was impromptu and we couldn't have been more pleased. Here's a list of dishes we tried.

Starters: I am not a big fan of fries, however these hand cut fries were cooked well, not too soft and not cooked too hard it paired well with their black truffle aioli. The Mussel Escabeche on the fresh Sourdough was absolutely amazing!

Entrees: My wife order the Salmon and I ordered the Duck breast, both cooked medium and was absolute perfection!

Dessert: warmed Fall Apples over ice cream with granola. Well balanced flavors and not overly sweet.

Drinks: CALM WATERS
(blanco tequila, pasubio amaro, strega, chai whey cordial and lime) Perfect blend!

SMOKED APPLE OLD FASHIONED
(bourbon, apple brandy, becherovka, smoked apple oleo) Great blend, fresh apple taste, perfect for dinner or taking the edge off after a long day!

“Picked up lunch today and brought it home. Excellent food! The goobkwr was outstanding and hubby loves the jalapeno popper dog. Also got Mac & cheese and the baked beans which I highly recommend and of course the salty balls. Had to also get the T-shirt too. Best food in the area. Makes me miss summer cookouts and was a nice break for all the holiday craziness and foods.“

(We had Cuban Sliders, Calamari and loaded plantain nachos). It was nice to have a unique restaurant experience for a change. Right from the time I first called to plan the party through the dinner service. Everyone had a great time and raved about the food and location.“

“The past few times I’ve been here, the experience has been phenomenal! Both times we had the same server, Miranda, who was always smiling and making sure my party and I were having a good time. The food is great, I will and always will recommend the Honey BBQ Supermelt with their waffle fries. It’s nice, roomy, and not too loud so it’s a great place to go for hangouts or get togethers. “I've been coming to AJ's for over 20 years. literally every time I have friends from out of town visit me and want to have a drink and some good bar food we go to AJ's. every single one of my out-of-town friends always says this is the best bar food they've ever had in their life. I literally have friends who call me up to come to Meriden just to have food from AJ's. my kids are addicted to the food at AJ's as well . I can honestly say if I ever move out of Connecticut, AJ's is one of the very few restaurants that I would ever truly miss and want to stop by if I come back to Connecticut for a visit. Thanks for hanging in and being so committed to our city. with the type of food and friendliness that AJ's gives they could have been successful any place in Connecticut.“

“Came in around 6p on a Sunday so it wasn’t busy. The inside is what you’d expect for similar restaurants; darker ambiance , booths and tables, and outdoor seating as well. We were sat and addressed quickly, placing an order for drinks and an app. We then chose two entrees to share. For an old fashioned, a glass of Prosecco, an egg roll appetizer, a Cobb salad, and a steak sandwich with fries came to about $90 (with tip).

Our waitress was attentive without being invasive; she was quick and friendly .

My only complaint is the sticky table.

“With warm weather in June, we sat outside on The Oak Patio to watch musician Timmy Maia cover well-known songs. The Oak Patio serves the TimeOut Sports & Pizza Bar menu which includes usual pub fare such as burgers, gourmet pizza, appetizers, salads and sandwiches plus a few high end dinners. Full bar with craft beers in addition to a good selection of wine. Arrive early if you want to sit in the comfortable sectional and seatings in front of the stage inside the fenced in area. Our friends got there an hour before the show and we still could only be seated at a table for four outside the fence, which allows diners to see the entertainment but through the iron bars.All of our food and drinks were very good and served in a timely manner: coconut shrimp, calamari and nachos for starters. Kobe burger with bacon and fried egg; French dip handheld sandwich with sliced beef, cheddar and au jus; Jerry Pizza with mushrooms and pepperoni.My partner, an old friend of Timmy's wanted to say hi during intermission so we went through the lobby of the Doubletree hotel by Hilton Hotel where this venue is located in Bristol, and went inside the enclosure so they could shake hands, catch up and take some photos. It's a nice place to get out and have a meal with or without a band. There's a lot of greenery, palms, plants and white lights under a white tented roof for the enclosed main area.“

We were ready to leave but had put in our order and wanted to try food. The food Was decent but pricey for amount you got. Called manager over to show him how thick the dust was on ledge where everyone sits And eats. He said he was new. Not an excuse. Restaurant was empty now I know why. The whole place smells dirty as soon as you sit down and have to breathe in one spot. This restaurant will not last if things don't Change. It will be a repeat of Chips restaurant all over again.“

“Attended a function in the Club House Restaurant, very comfortable atmosphere, food was good as well. One hint, the entrance is deceiving for anyone not familiar because it's located within a gated community. Almost thought we were at the wrong address until we spoke to the gate Gaurd.“

“Hands down Steve’s place is the best lunch in the Newington Center area. I have been coming here basically my whole life. Doug is such a great guy very outstanding. You’ll know what I’m talking about when you meet Doug. I can’t say enough great things About Steve’s place Definitely a great gemstone in the community! You gotta check out their meatball grinders and their chocolate chip cookies are outstanding definitely one of my favorites. I have never had a bad experience here ever so check them out today!
