“I like the food especially shrimp w broccoli or chicken w broccoli , I love egg fu young but I haven’t found any local restaurants that are great at making it but Szechuan Hot Wok makes theirs good enough for me to order over and over. It’s Tuesday and I’d like Chinese for dinner but they’re closed, idk why but I usually crave Chinese food on Tuesday and several local restaurants are closed.“

“This is the 2nd time visiting and it has not disappointed. The food was tasty (S&P pork chops & fish w/eggplant). The soda/tea is canned, ice water is from a pitcher. The restaurant seemed clean and waitstaff was nice. Very pleasant dinner.“

They loaded me up, and for the prices the portions are amazing! And they taste even better! Everything was hot and so flavorful. “This was my first time ordering from them and I will continue to do so. Their prices are reasonable, the food is fresh and the place is clean. This restaurant is out of my way and completely opposite to where I live but it’s worth the drive. I haven’t enjoyed hot and sour soup like that in years and the chicken with mushrooms was delicious. There was a lot of huge, tender pieces of chicken, the vegetables were cooked perfectly. My husband really enjoyed his chicken with broccoli as well.“

“Had a great meal at ugly dumpling, greeted with great service right away! Service was personable and accommodating to my stroller and a high chair for toddler. The establishment is extremely clean and beautifully designed. Waitress was helpful in assisting with menu, family style small plates, 3-4 plates for a couple suggested. We loved the dumplings with spicy sauce on side and sesame noodles. So fun to see everyone working on hundreds of beautiful, delicate, and delicious dumplings! 🥟 thank you ugly dumpling team!“

“Spare Ribs Platter is slammin', and steamed dumplings are great too! Egg rolls are solid. Sweet and Chicken's good. Also recommend the vegatable mai fun!!

There is a small wait after 6 pm, but the cooking staff are fast, and the woman at the front is a wizard. She cooks, answers phones, yells at the guys on occasion, and moves like LIGHTNING!

This time I indulged in Mongolian beef, and I must say it was nothing short of divine. Also, the staff were very friendly. I also liked the atmosphere because they had a cool picture of people on a river on the wall. Also, there was a 10lb kettlebell which added to the atmosphere.“

“My favorite Chinese take out food! If you're looking for a cheap yet delicious meal, look no further! My personal favorite items include the hot and sour soup and the roast pork lo mein lunch special, which I have ordered multiple times! The only issue I've had is with consistency and wait times. Sometimes the food isn't as fresh and as well seasoned as other times, but the food has never tasted bad. My advice: order the lunch special & order via phone or their website ahead of time!Lastly, I think this place has the best hot and sour soup in the area, great balance of flavors and good portion of meat. Also, the lunch special contains generous portions!!“

“I’m a truck driver and always iffy about ordering from places I’m not familiar with. Especially Chinese food. Hands down great food here. Northern Chinese is always the best. Down south is absolutely horrible. lol. I travel a lot. With that being said I had to door dash the food and the place followed instructions very well. Hot and fresh. “The best fried rice I have ever had!!! I always order the same thing. I order 4 wings with fried rice add egg. Their rice comes with onion only(no veggies) -which is perfect for me because that's the way I like it. When I tell you that rice is something to talk about, hunnyyyy!!!! I'm not a dry rice eating person AT ALL. I ALWAYS need some type of gravy or the sauce from my beans over ANY rice I eat. Not this rice!! This rice (and wings) is perfect as is. It doesn't need soy, duck, hot sauce, ketchup(wings). All you need is a fork. Seasoned just right. “Rice has long been our go-to place in DE for sashimi: thick cuts (as they should be), always fresh, expertly prepared. We love the wonton soup and fried rice as well, and everything we've tried from the non-sushi menu has always been a cut above. Everything tastes prepared fresh that day; the vegetables are crisp; it's never overloaded with salty, gooey sauce. So many places just cover up mushy vegetables and old rice with sugar-heavy sauce because it's what we Americans expect, but this restaurant seems to actually care about putting out quality. “I went about 2 months ago hadn't been there in years for chitterlings.
We ordered a bucket that was $200 it was worth it. The same way I used to just bring them home and cook them a little longer with the seasonings you like. They were clean so I didn't have to do all that hard work. My chitterlings were perfect“

“Good Evening Google Family. I enjoyed my eating experience here. The food is really good here. I opted for take out. The young man that took my order was nice. I told him that I would give him and the restaurant a good review. He gave me the Q r Code paper and here I am using it. I only wish that they had brown rice. They had white rice. I prefer brown rice. I am hoping that the next time people will have a choice of Brown or white rice. I loved that my food was piping hot and it was delicious!! “I have eaten here frequently during my time at UD. Never once disappointed in the food, it is always very consistent and very good. Plenty of vegetarian options as well. The kung pao tofu and hot & sour soup are my go-tos. The price to amount of food you receive ratio is one of the best in town. Highly recommend!!“

Tasted a little bland in flavor... So could have used just a little more sauce... Other than that they tasted alright... The pork fried rice... Was good... You can tell it was actually fresh for once... The chicken lo mein noodles... Were a little sticky... But they were edible and ok... The egg roll I believe may have been stale or refried... Im not sure.. but it tasted like grease... And we just trashed those.. they were no good... The homemade teas were sweet and delicious...I guess I would recommend this spot.. but honestly im not even sure... This may be a hit or miss type of spot... Good luck“

I got the chicken teriyaki with white rice 2 Spring rolls.2 chicken dumplings a 4 piece, California roll and a small salad. It was enough for 2 meals, and again it was spot on! “There are many Asian buffets these days and while there are some top-of-the line buffets, there's plenty more than are good and there are of course some that are rough because the food isn't rotated to keep fresh food on the buffet. This buffet though is pleasantly good and it has a nice atmosphere.
I like that the buffet's atmosphere is very well done with good decor and not feeling like a generic restaurant. The service is also good and for the most part well done for a buffet as well.
The food is what you mostly expect for an Asian buffet with a mix of Chinese dishes, sushi, a Mongolian-style grill and American buffet fare. The sushi is one of the better offerings I've seen in an Asian buffet; the fish was fresh when I was there and they had an actually good variety of different maki rolls and nigiri. The Mongolian grill has some good choices and the chef does a good job cooking the food up. I did wish they had a better selection of difference sauces to tailor your dish, but what they have works. The Chinese dishes are also pretty good with the normal variety of Amero-Chinese entrees and the fruit when I visit was reasonably fresh.
Overall, this buffet has very tasty options for food and a good variety of dishes as well. For a local, this is a good buffet to visit. But not quite one I'd go out of my way to visit.“

“Service is prompt, professional, and FAST. When they give you a time, it is ready. If it is still being prepared...they apologize and you know it is fresh!
Prices are good, especially in this economy. Make sure to put the date on a menu when you receive it. Have them read your order with the prices and total, most of the time they do this without you requesting it. Sometimes people make mistakes, this eliminates that hassle.
Order EARLY in the evening, not close to closing. Food is most often fresher and has not been sitting around!
CLEAN establishment, inside and out. That is NOT EASY, given the location and state of nearby homes and streets. No trash, broken glass or oil spills, even the dumpsters are cleaned on a regular basis(no smell, none)!
There is a place to sit and eat, or wait for your order.
No restrooms, do not ask.
Every container is full to bursting open, never skimpy on portions. Shrimp Lomein is awesome. One in every bite, and is two meals for me. I have to roll away from the table, lol. Dumplings fried or steamed, I cannot get enough of them. General Tse Chicken is either very good or old. Most of the time it is tender meat, slighty crispy on the outside, with perfectly cooked rice, and steamed broccoli.
A few times old chicken that was reheated. Now I inspect my order and show them if there are any problems, BEFORE LEAVING.
I do not accept refunds or a second try on the food. I do accept beverages or other ready made items, that equal the price of the unacceptable dish in trade. It just means I will be getting dinner elsewhere that night. This is NOT a suggestion, do what you can to properly come to an agreement that fits YOU.
I bring another bag to transfer the order into. If everything is in order THE FIRST TIME, I thank them, give a deep respectful bow and LEAVE A TIP! They remember!

Sometimes they completely leave it off your order and don’t charge you for it (especially if it’s the young girl taking your order on the phone), other times it’s things you’ve ordered and paid for. “I've been coming to Joy Garden for decades now - living right around the corner and moving in to my childhood home has allowed me to share with my family some of the restaurants that I've always loved.Joy Garden was always a reminder of the way Chinese Food should be. I've traveled a lot over the years and I always find myself comparing other restaurants to this place. No one has been able to live up to them.With that being said, I've noticed a definite down-turn in quality in the past few years. This restaurant has been run by the same family for several decades - I always recognize the woman who I've seen for years, who is always a joy to speak with, and I've even now met her son taking orders, which is always a pleasure to see the family continuing the tradition of their hard-worked business!I believe that the economy has caused an uptick in cost; however, the increase combined with a lower-than-expected quality has been a sad disappointment. The restaurant is in dire need of revamping, and I would normally be able to look past this for quality food, but I'm left lacking from what they used to be.Perhaps changes in food regulations have contributed to recent changes, possibly Covid issues have affected the way things are done... this restaurant still offers "steamed chicken dumplings," which are near-impossible to find elsewhere... but things simply aren't the same.I couldn't imagine finding another place to satisfy my needs, but rising prices, lack of transparency regarding pricing and an overall change of food-quality, I cannot in good conscience rate them as highly as my nostalgia would wish.I wish these folks the best and hope for better days. It is difficult to find good sushi at such a reasonable price, with no compromise in terms of taste and quality. Little Teriyaki has a great variety of rolls.
