“This was my first time ordering from them and I will continue to do so. Their prices are reasonable, the food is fresh and the place is clean. This restaurant is out of my way and completely opposite to where I live but it’s worth the drive. I haven’t enjoyed hot and sour soup like that in years and the chicken with mushrooms was delicious. There was a lot of huge, tender pieces of chicken, the vegetables were cooked perfectly. My husband really enjoyed his chicken with broccoli as well.“

“This store is an authentic Chinese restaurant, and it is very friendly to see Chinese compatriots. There is a menu with Chinese tastes, and the cucumber pancake is a must-try! ! ! . It's really delicious. The chef was hired from Flushing by the boss. It’s really satisfying to have a meal on a business trip“

“Their food is always delicious! The family that runs this restaurant have a great system in place for being Covid safe when working with customers. They have a pass through window setup for payment and for food.My recommendation is to try their steamed dumplings, Hot and Sour soup, and fried chicken wings.Pricing is very affordable and you get good size portions of food.“

“Best place to buy Chinese food in New Castle County! I've been coming here for about 30 years and sometimes you'd get some shardy chicken or some grainy undercooked rice, or some really bland lo mein depending on who was cooking/prepping that day. It deserved ~ 2-4 stars depending on who was working. This place has complete changed and every time I order the food is perfect! They also changed from the thick steamed dumplings to the thin cased! I always loved this place, and the effort they put in to change it around has completely blown my mind. I'd rate it 6 stars now if I could. THANK YOU Fu Yang!“

“This is the only Chinese food place I go to in NewCastle. It's a family outfit and you can tell, which is endearing in its own right. Elaine, the matriarch of the place, is the coolest. Her and her family are small business owners and operators and they all work hard to make great food and it shows. ALWAYS highly recommend it.“

“I live in pike creek and I have a Chinese place near me. I recently purchased food from this place and ohhh man! I will continue to drive the extra miles for this place! The food compared to the place next to me has won my heart! The place is very friendly, I don’t know the man’s name at the front but he was extremely friendly. So friendly I had to tip him!“

“One of the best Chinese restaurants in the area. Being from Philly, it was very difficult to find a location with food comparable to what I was used to having. This restaurant definitely measures up well.
Parking: Retail parking lot available to multiple businesses.“

“I have eaten here frequently during my time at UD. Never once disappointed in the food, it is always very consistent and very good. Plenty of vegetarian options as well. The kung pao tofu and hot & sour soup are my go-tos. The price to amount of food you receive ratio is one of the best in town. Highly recommend!!“

“It was nice to have dinner inside a restaurant. You could see the care of clean up, the guests were spaced nicely. Our meals were fresh, full of flavor, and enough for a lunch the following day. Our server Pat was her ever charming self and mixes a great basil lemon cocktail.“

“Hong Hing is nothing less than a temple of food, worthy of reverence. Going there feels like a sacred ritual, where my taste buds can bask in heaven on Earth. This time I indulged in Mongolian beef, and I must say it was nothing short of divine. Also, the staff were very friendly. I also liked the atmosphere because they had a cool picture of people on a river on the wall. Also, there was a 10lb kettlebell which added to the atmosphere.“

“Pro, the food was good...The cons are, the customer are not greeted, everyone is walking around being busy and not making any effort to get you your order until you get their attention...I don't see a dining area, we are confined to a small area about 8' X 6' that was really cold...“

“As a person who lived in China for several years, I was so excited to find this pocket of authenticity in Newark! In addition to a refreshing feeling of a real Chinese restaurant, the menu is packed with delicious regional dishes from China. The staff is also incredibly kind. They are willing to answer questions for those who are unfamiliar with Chinese cuisine, and they even offer some Americanized Chinese dishes for those feeling a little nervous. Don’t be silly though, make sure to try the dumplings!“

“I lived in the City of Wilmington for years. I’m now in the burbs but this place stands out as the best Chinese food we’ve ever eaten. It’s the only Chinese restaurant where you order General Tso’s and you get spicy, whole peppers in your dish. Not a sugary mess. I still talk about how delicious the food was. Count your blessings.“

“Very nice owner. Has a loyal clientele, as I've often overheard her greeting customers by name. :-) Their eggplant in garlic sauce and sesame tofu are my go-to's (I don't eat meat). Their sesame tofu has a nice crispy-not-too-soft texture, which I love. They always ask if you want sauces and chopsticks, which I really appreciate (as I don't like to avoid wasted packets and single use plastic). Take out only. The plaza that it's in can only be entered & exited on the Wilmington-bound side of Kirkwood hway.“

“The best Chinese food I’ve ever had. I’ve been eating from here since I was a little kid and it’s always been my go to. I love the chicken on stick and have never seen anyone make it like this place does. I love how they will usually give you some eggrolls when you have a big order as well. The cost is very well reasonable with the great quality I love this place no complaints ! Always quick too“

“My favorite Chinese take out food! If you're looking for a cheap yet delicious meal, look no further! My personal favorite items include the hot and sour soup and the roast pork lo mein lunch special, which I have ordered multiple times! The only issue I've had is with consistency and wait times. Sometimes the food isn't as fresh and as well seasoned as other times, but the food has never tasted bad. My advice: order the lunch special & order via phone or their website ahead of time!Lastly, I think this place has the best hot and sour soup in the area, great balance of flavors and good portion of meat. Also, the lunch special contains generous portions!!“

“Not the greatest, but certainly not bad.
Decent price for decent food that is made SUPER quick ?
Located in a convenient area, I recommend stopping by for a meal on your lunch break or in-between errands ??
Not really a place for dinner and there’s very little room to sit inside.
One suggestion I have is to update the menu pictures inside the restaurant, they look 15 years old!“

“So I go to mimi's teriyaki all the time for their boba!! They have the best green tea around!! I usually get sushi from them, But today was the first time i've ever tried a bento box, And let me say they did a great job!! Everything was absolutely delicious! I got the chicken teriyaki with white rice 2 Spring rolls.2 chicken dumplings a 4 piece, California roll and a small salad. It was enough for 2 meals, and again it was spot on! Will be getting more bento boxes in the future!“

“Rice has long been our go-to place in DE for sashimi: thick cuts (as they should be), always fresh, expertly prepared. We love the wonton soup and fried rice as well, and everything we've tried from the non-sushi menu has always been a cut above. Everything tastes prepared fresh that day; the vegetables are crisp; it's never overloaded with salty, gooey sauce. So many places just cover up mushy vegetables and old rice with sugar-heavy sauce because it's what we Americans expect, but this restaurant seems to actually care about putting out quality. The staff is always courteous, too. Thank you for the lovely Valentine's Day meal my husband just brought home. You all are doing a terrific job.“

“I never leave reviews but this place was literally so much more than I expected. There was only one woman in there working by herself and she killed it. Even tho I live a little far the food was still hot, crispy, and good when i got back, definitely will be back again.“

“I used to be here almost every week but had a long break due to the pandemic. I visited here again last week and have to say that the quality of the food has dropped. I understand it is getting harder to survive especially after the pandemic and, considering the price, this place is likely already trying its best. Overall, the place is still good with the price.“

“A Chinese food takeaway that has been operating in Capitol Trail Newark Delaware for over a decade. The taste of the food was so mediocre that it could even be described as shoddy. The reason for giving them a five star rating is that they solve many of the workers' daily meals and are affordable. The Chinese are hard-working, and even the epidemic has not stopped them from moving forward. We need to applaud their professionalism.???“

“4 stars based off of portion size...and fresh chicken and rice...Nice sized portions... The general and sesame chicken was tender and cooked perfectly.. not overcooked at all... Tasted a little bland in flavor... So could have used just a little more sauce... Other than that they tasted alright... The pork fried rice... Was good... You can tell it was actually fresh for once... The chicken lo mein noodles... Were a little sticky... But they were edible and ok... The egg roll I believe may have been stale or refried... Im not sure.. but it tasted like grease... And we just trashed those.. they were no good... The homemade teas were sweet and delicious...I guess I would recommend this spot.. but honestly im not even sure... This may be a hit or miss type of spot... Good luck“

“I've been coming to Joy Garden for decades now - living right around the corner and moving in to my childhood home has allowed me to share with my family some of the restaurants that I've always loved.Joy Garden was always a reminder of the way Chinese Food should be. I've traveled a lot over the years and I always find myself comparing other restaurants to this place. No one has been able to live up to them. With that being said, I've noticed a definite down-turn in quality in the past few years. This restaurant has been run by the same family for several decades - I always recognize the woman who I've seen for years, who is always a joy to speak with, and I've even now met her son taking orders, which is always a pleasure to see the family continuing the tradition of their hard-worked business!I believe that the economy has caused an uptick in cost; however, the increase combined with a lower-than-expected quality has been a sad disappointment. The restaurant is in dire need of revamping, and I would normally be able to look past this for quality food, but I'm left lacking from what they used to be.Perhaps changes in food regulations have contributed to recent changes, possibly Covid issues have affected the way things are done... this restaurant still offers "steamed chicken dumplings," which are near-impossible to find elsewhere... but things simply aren't the same.I couldn't imagine finding another place to satisfy my needs, but rising prices, lack of transparency regarding pricing and an overall change of food-quality, I cannot in good conscience rate them as highly as my nostalgia would wish.I wish these folks the best and hope for better days. I will still continue to patronage this establishment but hope they find a way to bring things back to their golden age so that generations more can enjoy the quality that I had come to rely on.Please do continue to support these wonderful people, as they are truly great what they do!“

“Found this place on my way back home. Was a little hesitant at first, because the store appears really run down and shabby. I asked someone walking past if they had good food. They said yes,so i took a chance. Probably THE BEST Chinese food I've had since moving to wilmington. They're egg rolls are handmade and I love them! Everything I've gotten there has been extremely good. The lady has always been nice. If you don't let the outside appearance to derail you, you will be very happy. Not in the best area, and I've always gone there for their lunch specials and I've never had any issues. FYI, if you like hot oil, theirs is seriously HOT! I don't order or go anywhere else for my Chinese food now..“

“We love to pick up happy hour sushi from 2-4:30. The crunchy roll is our absolute favorite sushi roll. The incredible roll is pretty much a hairy Mexican, another staple for us. We also always get the gyoza-basically the fried dumpling version of a chicken nugget.“

“Asian boy chinese has my favorite crab rangoons in the area!I have been a customer for a year and I believe that they are my favorite Chinese restaurant in relationship to me, to my home address.I'm a fan of the sweet and sour pork. The balance is good and the sauce is better than most of the others in the area.I find the restaurant could be a little cleaner, as with the rest of the chinese food restaurants I've been to, but it's always busy. Usually a good sign.“

“I highly recommend the guo bao rou (sweet and sour pork) and the liu rou duan (sautéed pork) at this restaurant. It’s probably the best Northeastern Chinese cuisine in the Greater Philadelphia area. I heard from the owner that they might be selling the place soon, so make sure to enjoy it while you can. Don’t miss out on this gem!“
“the lady is very quick on her feet because it can get pretty busy so sometimes she comes off disrespectful which is the only thing i don’t like. other than that the foods good and cheap. if you don’t mind a bit of attitude over the phone it’s no big deal. i say over the phone because whenever i pick up the food she’s a sweetheart. would recommend and don’t put your phone on speaker cause she can’t hear you !“

“I went here for the first time tonight and was so glad I did! The service was great and quick, the girl at the counter was very sweet. And then the food! They loaded me up, and for the prices the portions are amazing! And they taste even better! Everything was hot and so flavorful. I tried a new dish, the shrimp and scallop with veggies and I’ll definitely be getting it again. If you’re looking for a great dinner go here!“
