“I walked into a crowded short staff restaurant tonight and was treated like an old friend. Everyone was super friendly and it was fun to see the staff enjoying themselves despite being very busy. Food was great, ended up with a mixed sour and lager on the recommendation of the bartender that I really enjoyed. I’ll be back next time I am in town.“

“We had a very delicious meal at this warm, cozy place last night, which is in a beautiful historic home in downtown Lewes.

We were early for our reservation, so we went in the back to the Pink Pony bar area for a drink. Husband and I had very good wine, daughter had a limoncello lemon drop, which she loved. The bartenders were so friendly and fun!

For dinner, we were seated in the enclosed wrap around front porch area, with views of the town that was beautifully decorated for the holidays. Our waiter, Filip, was outstanding. He helped us make good menu choices, according to our tastes, and provided excellent service throughout our meal.

We started with the charcuterie board, which we enjoyed sharing. Husband and I chose the Chicken Cordon Bleu. It was fabulous, with caramelized roasted carrots, crisp tender green beans, all on a bed of pomme purée. Daughter chose a delicious pumpkin ravioli, which was leaving the menu the next day. She greatly enjoyed it.

We will definitely be back to this restaurant.

“My sister in law recommended and we went on our anniversary eve and had a spectacular time. The food was excellent and the waiter, Antonio, felt like a long lost friend. As we were leaving, Bob the owner made a point of coming over and saying hello and chatting. Prior, As we were sitting at our table and enjoying our time and a wonderful drink, we noticed that Bob knew everyone that came in. We felt “left out” but by the time we left we felt like family. It doesn’t hurt that the food was really really good. We went on a Monday and they had a steak frites special as well as a filet special. The steaks were perfectly cooked and the sides were extremely well prepared. I almost don’t want to recommend because I want this wonderful place all to myself. Thanks to all and we will be back! Enjoy. We also met Christy who was as nice as the rest of the group. You cannot go wrong here.“

“Flavors, textures, cooking technique better than a 5 Star restaurant. Everything on the menu is Amazing. Their homemade sauces are like nothing I have ever tasted before and I am quite the Foodie! My favorite is the Thai Chili Shrimp Taco, I can't order tacos from anywhere else. They truly have spoiled me. The owners are wonderful people and talented chefs! I purposely drive to Rehoboth to do my grocery shopping so I can order dinner once a week from First State!!! It is a must Go-To!!!“

“Not a lot of thought went into the interior design. It's basically a dive. But friendly service and the sub shop inside is frickin bang for your buck.

The chicken cheese steak was overloaded with ingredients. I was not want for extra chicken mushrooms onions or peppers and opted not to have Lettuce and tomatoes on mine.

I think it was like $15 but literally 2 meals worth for a full sub. Fat something of a name with a popular food truck or 2.“

“6/2025 This time we ordered bowls for pickup, the ponzu glass noodles are so good, we also got spinach, chipotle chicken, balsamic mushrooms, garlic broccoli, and the chimichurri sauce. “Very happy with the experience here. Went in at 11:58 am to get lunch and experienced the noon playing of the National Anthem, which was done with a great deal of care and reverence. I didn't know about that, and I was glad to be there for it.

Food is excellent. Terrific value for the price, great portion sizes of quality BBQ. I had the brisket sandwich, but got a bunch of sides (green beans, collard greens, baked beans, and Cole slaw, as well as cornbread) and all were outstanding.

When we got back to our house to eat, the rest of our family smelled and tasted the food, and then insisted we get it for dinner. Next day leftovers were even better. (Get the pulled pork, save some, make nachos tomorrow. You're welcome.)
