“Great choice for dinner. Enjoyed outdoor dining. Nice wine selection and some inventive specialty cocktails. We enjoyed the Chicken Gruyère and Cedar Plank Salmon. Very attentive service. Had to circle around a few times to find a parking spot but we were successful! Highly recommend.“
“Busy little place that is not pretentious..bar food, nothing spectacular but then again we were eating on the beach, so hand held was the plan. Enjoy the sun, the sand and the ocean all day, walk into the Mucky Duck for drinks and some food, ice cold beer will taste sooo good!Parking: We pulled up to the Mucky Duck to off load our beach chairs etc..then parked at the end of the block $20/day...we knew we were going to sit on the beach so no parking in their lot..strictly for patrons using all their outside seating which is quite nice.“
“We stopped in at Mango's for lunch by boat a few Saturday's ago and it was absolutely the highlight of my trip to SW Florida. The turquoise water around Captiva is incredible!! It was a bit tricky to navigate our way into the marina, but we figured it out without trouble. The harbormaster at the marina was really friendly and helpful with getting us to our boat slip.It was just a short walk to Mango's, which was definitely busy but we were able to get seating for the 6 of us pretty quickly. The food was fantastic and we really enjoyed ourselves. I recommend the chilled lobster roll and grouper bites.“
“We stopped in just to grab a beer and look around as I am a fan of the Doc Ford book series. The atmosphere is awesome and the service we did get was top notch as well. Plenty of parking in their own parking lot. The front bar was full so we discovered they had a rear bar area that was the coolest/most interesting spot in the restaurant, imo. We will definitely be returning on our next trip to Sanibel.“
“This is one of the best places in the area to get fresh Gulf seafood. They have a great selection of local beer on tap and salty atmosphere. I usually get the cracked conch, which is delicious. However, I tried something new this time, seafood shepard pie. It changed my life! Before I left half the bar was eating it.“
“March 29,2024DELICIOUS!Wonderful service and excellent food!Reservations are a must. We were a group of 12 but were split into a table for eight and one of four but we were informed of this in advance.Everything was top notch. Our server was very attentive yet we were not rushed. Our meals were beautifully presented and where applicable prepared as requested (steaks were perfect). There are many gluten free options and a few vegetarian options as well. The pianist, Scott, was the perfect touch to a relaxed atmosphere. There is a full bar and an extensive wine selection. The handicap lift was not working but there is a scissor lift in the back that was able to accommodate members of our group who could not navigate the stairs. Big plus that the owners had this available. It’s pricey but well worth the visit. I look forward to visiting again.“
“CHEESEBURGER IN PARADISE -About a 10 minute scenic bicycle ride from where we stay in Florida sits Sanibel’s American Legion Post 123. We’ve passed this place many times, always seeing the “Public Welcome” sign. I wondered what the deal was so I did a quick Internet search. The ‘typical’ review said “Best Cheeseburger on the island”. Really, could this be? On our last day in town Cindy and I took the bike ride, curious to check it out.If you prefer restaurants with a fancy decor and an extensive menu I recommend avoiding this place. You also may want to avoid it if you don’t like dogs. The Post Commander’s dog Abby is a Regular at the bar.If you enjoy hanging with some Veterans and real locals, while eating an incredible Burger with a cold Beer then this place is for you. The 8 ounce Burger was so good that I had to ask: “Is this a special blend of meat?” He said “No, but the local butcher grinds it to our spec, fresh every morning.”This was a great local experience and we’ll be bicycling there again.#CaptainCooksBackyard #AmericanLegion #eatlocal #sanibel #sanibelisland #cheeseburgers“
“What brings us back to this place over and over again is the views! SWFL charm through and through! The food is always fantastic and very consistent. I ordered the shrimp and grits this time with the blue crab and corn chowder soup as a side. This chowder is FANTASTIC! I could hardly share with my husband it was so good, sweet and so savory. Forget the cup, go with the bowl! It’s he shrimp and grits were so good I forgot to take pictures. Just cheesy enough to not over power the shrimp flavor. High five to the chef. The food is more pricy, however you know it’s going to be good and consistent so it’s worth it. The staff is extremely professional and patient. This is a restaurant for a romantic date or a celebration. I’ve also gone here for a wedding! Yes it’s that beautiful! Totally recommend a sunset timeframe as you can see from the pictures.Parking: We were able to find a spot but have struggled in the past. However this time they had a parking lot monitor so maybe that’s the difference.“
“Great dining experience right on the water - great menu selection - great drinks, great view, amazing service!! Everything was great! Our waitress was super!! She had just gotten back from a vacation in Costa Rica.Kid-friendliness: Great kids menu!“
“We have dined here many times; having found it a few years ago as we are from Maine. The atmosphere, food, service, and feeling of stepping back in time make dining here a memorable experience. We brought visitors from Maine and, like us, loved the experience. We'll be back soon!“
“This was a very happy visit. I’ve been coming to Sanibel Cafe since the ‘80s. This was first time back since they reopened after the devastation from Hurricane Ian. Excellent food and exceptional service. After visiting around the island we stopped back so my daughter could buy a mug and jam ?♥️and our server remembered us from the morning. Perfect !“
“I've been many times and have always had delicious food. Pizzas, fried chicken sandwich, Philly cheese steak, chicken tacos, but my favorite is the fried Haddock sandwich.Parking: Steph is a great cook and she usually checks up with customers to make sure they are satisfied and happy with their food. I'm enjoying new items on the menu too.“
“St. Pattys day we listened to live music, ate spicy seafood next to the busy channel watching boat parties go by or pull up to party. We shared breadsticks, fresh drinks, and respite from the sun under a canopy right at the rivers edge. Always fun to watch the boats go by. Servers are fast, knowledgeable, and great. Food portions are big and we couldn't finish everything but took it home for later. Great time.“
“this place now calls itself the BRGR restaurant as it has renewed itself after recovery from the hurricane Ian as part of the Sanibel Island Resort. They place is beautiful and a new favorite of mine. Had a Black and Bleu burger (relates to the name of the restaurant) with cole slaw and it was excellent! Very high quality, done just right, tasted wonderful and included bacon in the burger. Tried fries from one of our party and they were exceptional, great taste and crunch. Our server was friendly and took great care of our party. we parked our bikes at the rack behind the restaurant in the area where the parking lot leads back to palms and passes their pool (with bar) toward the path to the beach where they have lounge chairs that they furnish to guests on the beach that has recently had its sand replenished by the island. A great visit, we'll be back.“
“We arrived at Tween Waters pretty late and we were happy that the Shipyard was still open. Frank was our server and was excellent. We ordered the ceviche for an appetizer and it was excellent! We both then ordered the grilled grouper sandwich and it was very good as well. It suffered by comparison to Lazy Flamingo's Mesquite grilled grouper sandwich but it's still a great sandwich.“
