Service was attentive and friendly without being overbearing, which fit the laid-back island vibe perfectly. The pool bar setting made lunch feel extra casual and enjoyable—easy, breezy, and exactly what you want while on Captiva. Not quite perfect, but definitely a place we’d happily return to.“

“A nice location that I visited while visiting the gulf coast. Food was decent, drinks were cold, and overall a pleasurable experience. Visited by boat and had plenty of dock space. Walked up to bar area where we ordered drinks and started tab and walked up to a table to sit for lunch. While we got out food, ended up walking up to bar for another drink. While this part falls on me, did not pay close attention to the bill and realized they tagged on a service fee, which was essentially the tip. I generously tipped on the total balance, not realizing tip was included. Once back at home, attempted to contact the location and never heard back. While it clearly falls on me, think it is crappy when locations tag on service fees for small groups. Mix in a few cocktails, and pretty sure I'm not the only person who fell for this. Don't mind paying island pricing, however the added service charge is annoying especially when you are pretty much expected to walk up to bar and order your drinks. guess the servers had a good tip day. would probably go back, but would be more attentive to the tip surcharge.“

“It is one of the few places open, from what we saw driving around. The island is sadly still dealing with the aftermath of the hurricanes. \nWe loved RC Otter's! \nMy husband and I came for a late breakfast - we were sat immediately, they had live music which was great and the ambiance is a laid back-island vibe. Service was friendly...albeit a bit slow but we weren't in a rush by any means. The French toast was some of the best I've ever had. Super fresh and so yummy - husband loved it also. He had the eggs and ham which he loved as well. Easy parking in their parking lot onsite also. Note...you won't find much parking in the area. We would absolutely love to come back on our next trip.“

“Our visit to the shipyard was fine. The food was decent and prepared well. I wasn't a real fan of their blackened grouper. The service was decent but not overwhelming. A couple of times we had to wait a decent amount to get drink refills. The atmosphere was fine -- was clean and generally nice inside. However, the atmosphere was quite loud and difficult to talk to over. Since we were staying in Sanibel rather than Captiva, I'm not sure we would drive to return to the restaurant unless we are on that side of the islands.“

“Crow's Nest was a delight. The views are spectacular, the service attentive and friendly, and the food is delicious! Brian the Manager checks on your experience and Cecilia our bartender and service is just top notch. We will return often!“

“Huge shoutout to the KIND and HONEST TEAM at Doc Fords in Sanibel! 🙌 We’ve been going there for many years and their food is always delicious-one of our favorite spots for a reason. We had dinner there Sunday and a couple of days later I realized my wallet was missing. I called in hoping for the best, and to my surprise (and relief!) they had it safe and sound- with EVERYTHING still inside! So very grateful for people who do the right thing. “Well for starters the escargot, raw oysters, and oysters Rockefeller were out of this world. Both the red and white clam chowder were like perfection in a bowl. My entrée was the baked stuffed shrimp and hands down AMAZING. Our waitress was YO and she knew everything about the history of the restaurant to the menu. I was very interested in the collection of oyster shells on the walls and she explained that as well. TEN STARS !!! I recommend to anyone who loves fresh seafood and visits Sanibel Island.“

“We had a reservation last night on arrival they said they had to cancel because the computer was down and could not take credit cards. We said we had cash, they then said it could be a long wait before we would be served as kitchen also relied on the computer. We took our chances went in and waited, eventually had a great meal ! Perseverance is omnipotent , from a mixed race party.“

I have had steaks from here to California up to Canada and back down here to Florida… nobody makes a stake like this man!! he does a reverse sear and everything has done to perfection along with the sides.
