“My wife and I came to the Ellenton area on our honeymoon. Her local family reccomended we check out Woodys River Roo. It was our first stop and the only repeat stop during our week down here. We went to "The Roo" on three separate occasions and loved each one. The food was great, the view of the manatee river was very nice, but the friendly hardworking staff was the cherry on top. They all really seemed to love each other and worked together like a well oiled machine. They made us feel right at home and made sure everything was just right. Bar tender Johnny, who I belive said had been employed there for 15 years, reccomended a lot of other great places to drink and dine in the area. They also have a gift shop and live entertainment from, music to trivia 7 days a week! 10 out of 10 would reccomend. My wife and I hope to be back sooner than later!“

“Hubby had the cod, ff and coleslaw. The cod was perfectly breaded very lightly, the french fries yummy and we never got to the coleslaw (taking home leftovers). I had the shrimp scampi fettuccine, in butter sauce – Yum! The bread with the oil dip was wonderful. I highly recommend this place and wish they were much closer to where I live (SRQ airport-could replace Primos! I’m just suggesting).“

“My friend and I went on Saturday night. We both had a drink and ordered appetizer while looking at the menu. Our waiter was right there with our hot appetizer within minutes. We both ordered shrimp and scallops coleslaw hush puppies along with our fried calamari appetizer. Our food was one of the best we've had in and around Bradenton/Sarasota. “I had a health concern happen while I was entertaining myself and the locals with some guitar music, good conversation and lots of pool games. I got dehydrated and the paranoia set in hard. Luckily these folks are good people and all my belongings were kept, safely. When I got well and was able to retrieve them. I was well cared for and never made to feel unwelcome though I’m afraid I might have made a fool of myself. Maybe again some day without the dehydration? I hope so!“

We ordered fried oysters, French fries, and cheese grits, and everything was absolutely delicious. The oysters were fried to perfection, crispy on the outside yet tender and flavorful inside. The cheese grits were just the way I like them—nice and thick—and the fries were a great complement to the meal. Even better, our food arrived quickly and fresh. Our waitress, Lilly, was fantastic, providing friendly and attentive service. We also appreciated how the rest of the staff greeted us warmly as we walked through the restaurant. It’s little details like that that make a place feel extra welcoming. The restaurant itself was clean and well-kept, including the bathrooms, which is always a big plus. Anna Maria Oyster Bar now has four locations, and after this experience, I’d definitely visit again. “We’ve been to oak and stone downtown many times, but Monday night on the rooftop was the best of our experiences here. We’ve tried to get what we could to accommodate everyone in the past.
Amanda was our server of me and 3 of and my girlfriends, and out of all of the drink, appetizer, entree, and dessert recommendations, we had the best experience we could have possibly had. I’m so glad we had her as our server because our experience was tailored to our gluten free, diabetic, and dairy free needs. It’s hard to go to a restaurant with all of us together and our dietary needs, but Amanda really helped us pick and choose what would work best for us. We really hope to see her next time we go, or else we really dont feel safe eating here without being absolutely sure our dietary needs will be taken care of. If you have very strict dietary needs due to allergies or intolerances, make sure to ask for her input on what you order. She said she’s been there a long time and knows what we can and can’t have so we were VERY confident ordering with her. We will all be back Monday night and we hope to have her as our server so that we can all order comfortably.“
