“My wife and I came to the Ellenton area on our honeymoon. Her local family reccomended we check out Woodys River Roo. It was our first stop and the only repeat stop during our week down here. We went to "The Roo" on three separate occasions and loved each one. The food was great, the view of the manatee river was very nice, but the friendly hardworking staff was the cherry on top. They all really seemed to love each other and worked together like a well oiled machine. They made us feel right at home and made sure everything was just right. Bar tender Johnny, who I belive said had been employed there for 15 years, reccomended a lot of other great places to drink and dine in the area. They also have a gift shop and live entertainment from, music to trivia 7 days a week! 10 out of 10 would reccomend. My wife and I hope to be back sooner than later!“

“Hubby had the cod, ff and coleslaw. The cod was perfectly breaded very lightly, the french fries yummy and we never got to the coleslaw (taking home leftovers). I had the shrimp scampi fettuccine, in butter sauce – Yum! The bread with the oil dip was wonderful. I highly recommend this place and wish they were much closer to where I live (SRQ airport-could replace Primos! I’m just suggesting).“

“My friend and I went on Saturday night. We both had a drink and ordered appetizer while looking at the menu. Our waiter was right there with our hot appetizer within minutes. We both ordered shrimp and scallops coleslaw hush puppies along with our fried calamari appetizer. Our food was one of the best we've had in and around Bradenton/Sarasota. The atmosphere was perfect and service was the best. I cant wait to go back.“

“I had a health concern happen while I was entertaining myself and the locals with some guitar music, good conversation and lots of pool games. I got dehydrated and the paranoia set in hard. Luckily these folks are good people and all my belongings were kept, safely. When I got well and was able to retrieve them. I was well cared for and never made to feel unwelcome though I’m afraid I might have made a fool of myself. Maybe again some day without the dehydration? I hope so!“

We ordered fried oysters, French fries, and cheese grits, and everything was absolutely delicious. The oysters were fried to perfection, crispy on the outside yet tender and flavorful inside. The cheese grits were just the way I like them—nice and thick—and the fries were a great complement to the meal. Even better, our food arrived quickly and fresh. Our waitress, Lilly, was fantastic, providing friendly and attentive service. We also appreciated how the rest of the staff greeted us warmly as we walked through the restaurant. It’s little details like that that make a place feel extra welcoming. The restaurant itself was clean and well-kept, including the bathrooms, which is always a big plus. “Was recommended this place by friends who recently visited, who said how nice the view was and a fun place to go and watch sunset. We weren’t disappointed. Beautiful view, and smart modern restaurant. We were seated after a few minutes while they cleaned the table, and then completely ignored for over at least 10-12 minutes before our server came over, after I asked the hostess who walked past again if we could have our server come and take drinks orders. She eventually came and took drinks orders and practically ignored us after. Needing to stop her to ask if I could have my empty soda refilled, again to ask if we could order food, then again later for another drink. It wasn’t even that busy. She was polite enough but clearly not experienced. It put a dampener on the whole evening, which was a special one for my partner and I. I will return for a second visit, as our friends enjoy it and we enjoyed the view. But I’m hoping the service is improved. Pizza was very nice.“

It is high quality, the staff are nice, the place is very clean, and the vibes with the beer wall and atmosphere are good. On top of that, pricing is right on par and the app is incredibly easy to use with good rewards. I frequently go run errands in UTC and will stop by here to pick something up. I would also dare say this is some of the best pizza in Sarasota. What’s actually triggered me to write this review is for the first time, I experienced a hiccup with an online order and had a long in person wait time. Not only were the individuals working very apologetic, but the team took extra steps after I received my order to make it right and show appreciation to me as a customer. Shout out Jacob, the general manager. I will continue to be a big Oak and Stone fan!“
