“My wife and I came to the Ellenton area on our honeymoon. Her local family reccomended we check out Woodys River Roo. It was our first stop and the only repeat stop during our week down here. We went to "The Roo" on three separate occasions and loved each one. The food was great, the view of the manatee river was very nice, but the friendly hardworking staff was the cherry on top. They all really seemed to love each other and worked together like a well oiled machine. They made us feel right at home and made sure everything was just right. Bar tender Johnny, who I belive said had been employed there for 15 years, reccomended a lot of other great places to drink and dine in the area. They also have a gift shop and live entertainment from, music to trivia 7 days a week! 10 out of 10 would reccomend. My wife and I hope to be back sooner than later!“

“My friend and I went on Saturday night. We both had a drink and ordered appetizer while looking at the menu. Our waiter was right there with our hot appetizer within minutes. We both ordered shrimp and scallops coleslaw hush puppies along with our fried calamari appetizer. Our food was one of the best we've had in and around Bradenton/Sarasota. The atmosphere was perfect and service was the best. I cant wait to go back.“

“Hubby had the cod, ff and coleslaw. The cod was perfectly breaded very lightly, the french fries yummy and we never got to the coleslaw (taking home leftovers). I had the shrimp scampi fettuccine, in butter sauce – Yum! The bread with the oil dip was wonderful. “I had a health concern happen while I was entertaining myself and the locals with some guitar music, good conversation and lots of pool games. I got dehydrated and the paranoia set in hard. Luckily these folks are good people and all my belongings were kept, safely. When I got well and was able to retrieve them. I was well cared for and never made to feel unwelcome though I’m afraid I might have made a fool of myself. Maybe again some day without the dehydration? I hope so!“

“We stopped by Pelican’s Snoballs in Bradenton and were pleasantly surprised! They have a huge variety of flavors to choose from, and the snoballs are soft, fluffy, and packed with that authentic New Orleans flavor. A perfect treat on a hot Florida day!

They’re currently running a great deal—$20 for 25 coins, and each coin is worth $1. It’s a fun and budget-friendly way to treat the whole family. In addition to snoballs, they also offer other frozen treats and ice cream options, so there’s something for everyone.

Parking is a little limited, but there’s a picnic area with shaded seating and yard games, which made the experience even more enjoyable for the kids. It’s a laid-back, family-friendly spot we’d definitely visit again!“

“We were staying at the SpringHill Suites in Bradenton, the Oak and Stone is a restaurant on the first floor. It has good bar food and lots of different beers. You can serve yourself beer from a large number of Taps on the wall where you pay by the ounce. When crowded it gets very noisy. Seems to attract tourists and Young Folks and groups. Well worth the stop to see if it fits your style.“
