“My family and I are very happy with the place, the food is spectacular with a lot of Latin flavor. As Cubans, we feel very delighted with the place and the attention that all the waiters gave us since we entered was spectacular. “My husband and I eat at this Haitian restaurant whenever we’re in town visiting family, and they never disappoint. The food is always fresh, well-seasoned, and full of real Haitian flavor. From the fried turkey to the rice and beans and the sides, you can tell everything is cooked with care and love, not just thrown together.
What really keeps us coming back is the way they treat us. The staff is always warm, welcoming, and respectful. They make sure we’re comfortable, check on us, and treat us like regulars every single time, even when it’s busy. The service matches the quality of the food, excellent.
The atmosphere is clean, relaxed, and feels like a true Haitian home, with good vibes, good music, and good people.
Whenever we’re in town, this is our go-to spot. If you’re looking for authentic Haitian food with great service, I highly recommend this place.“

“The food at El Metropol Miami was out of this world. We’ve gone to the Puerto Rico locations and this one is at par or even better. This will be our new first stop when returning to Miami. Perfect blend of Cuban and Puerto Rican culture just like our family. Service was so friendly and professional, felt like you were talking to an old friend. Our server Katrina made us feel welcomed and created an instant connection. Arroz mamposteao and tostones de pana were the highlight of our meal.“

“My family and I traveled to Miami for a mini vacation, we went to Ft. Lauderdale to visit and found this amazing restaurant. It’s call the “Peoples Choice” and it has amazing Jamaican cuisine. It’s a must to visit! When we visit again from Indianapolis, Indiana, we will definitely be back for an awesome meal. The owners we great people!“

“On holiday from London, UK and exploring downtown Miami, I stumbled upon JRK on Biscayne – and I’m so glad I did! I ordered the jerk chicken with rice and peas, which comes with three veg sides. I went for steamed cabbage, broccoli and plantain, with jerk BBQ sauce, plus a beef patty to start. Honestly, it’s the best I’ve tasted in a long time – authentic, packed with flavour, and cooked to perfection. The staff were friendly and helpful, making the whole experience even better. If you’re in town, you have to stop by. You won’t be disappointed! I ate it too quick to take photos, sorry - next time :)“

“So living farrrr away in Seattle you know I just couldn't wait to get here. The Rice Pudding (Black pudding) is what I was craving for. And as usual, they did not disappoint! Also, while there, I heard this lady ordering saltfish with bread. Say What??!! A saltfish sandwich on butter bread?! Happy wasn't even the emotion I was feeling. Everything I've had from here has been tasty. The prices are also reasonable ?“

“What a wonderful clean and friendly place to come when I’m in town! I asked the cashier can I try a sample of the rice and beans and the djion djion rice and the owner brought it out from the back and both of them were absolutely delicious! She even let me know that I can do half-and-half if I would like. I definitely recommend this place for all your Haitian food needs! I would definitely give them a 10 stars if I could!!“

Wings & Fries:
The wings had a solid Southern-style base with a Caribbean flavor twist — well-seasoned, juicy, and crispy without being greasy. The fries were golden and crisp, a perfect side that held up well even outside a traditional restaurant setting.
Conch Salad:
I also tried the conch salad, and it was fresh and tasty with a good mix of citrus and texture. The only thing it needed was a bit more spice or heat to really bring it to life — a dash of pepper or hot sauce would’ve taken it to the next level.“

“I was visiting from Toronto and went to Mandeville Country style restaurant. The food was very good. It was also nice that they have a bar on the restaurant as well. “The majarete is very good but the tamale is no longer the same, it is made of atina, not sweet corn, if they don't change, I don't buy it anymore when they started, if they made it with ground corn, the last one I ordered was made of flour, it was very bad and the meat had no flavor“
