“I participated in their Grand Tasting Spring Edition, early May. This is my second time coming to the event and it was just as fun, and well organized. I think the food offered this year was also better. They had a great variety and a good amount which was lovely given the amount of wines on the tasting menu. Curated by the very knowledgeable owner and sommelier Alegra. I don’t personally know her but her staff’s adoration of her only ingratiated the event that much more. It sounded like she really took time and care into curating this impressive event. Overall there were 16 tables with anywhere from 4-10+ wines to try from all around the world. I think it’s so cute how they also have a scavenger hunt for participants to get to know the wines in a different format and loved that the first table of wines was a spin-the-bottle. Very creative. The special prices for the wines were also a great touch along with tags describing the wines as, “old school,” or “delicioso.” The selection of wines in the store was even more impressive than the ones being showcased for the event. All in all, this is a great establishment that also holds wonderful events.“

“Truly remarkable. We enjoyed the 9-course tasting menu with the wine pairing and waygu enhancement, putting dinner at $375pp including tax and tip. Worth every penny. Our primary server, Gabriela, was fantastic although several other staff members delivered our dishes, including both managers and a member of the chef’s team. I enjoyed the variance as it allows one to meet several members of the staff. Of the nine wines there was one I didn’t care for so, when asked how I liked it and said, “not so much” it was immediately replaced with a choice between two fine wines. It’s in these moments you understand the staff are true professionals providing the best dining experience possible. Gabriela, or Gaby as she prefers to be called, is a true professional The only marks against is the dress code. One gentleman at the bar was in a T-shirt and a baseball cap. Later two gentleman sat at a high top near the door, both in baseball caps. Also, the bartender was wearing a tank-top with the back cutout, something one would expect at a beach bar. The stark contrast between she and the very smartly dressed manager, Jonathan Smith, in a suit and tie, was noticeable. I’m old school dining with my 94 year old father who is really old school so my critique of attire when we’re only here for dinner may seem displaced. My apologies. For anyone looking for a remarkable dining experience in Miami Beach I highly recommend Stubborn Seed. You will leave full and an experience you’ll remember forever“

“I had heard about this hot restaurant from New York that I must try, but was reticent to do so because Carbone was the name of a character from Goodfellas that Robert Deniro's Jimmy Conway whacked when tying up loose ends after the Lufthansa job! Poor sap was hanging frozen in a meat locker. I'm glad I put that imagery aside because this place was amazing! Platitudes like wonderful ambience, fine service, flavorful food, great family style dining, are all applicable but just don't capture the full spirit of the evening. From the pickled cauliflower, to the signature spicy rigatoni ala vodka (which pairs nicely with their pinot noir offering Presqu'ile), to the Caesar salad (you must have those croutons!), and their delicious Italian petit-fours, everything burst with flavor and was resplendent of the authenticity of old Venice. And since you will be spending more than a few pennies here, one must luxuriate in the mid century environs replete with Murano glass chandeliers while being serenaded with a sound track of Italian crooners like Mel Torme and Frank Sinatra in the full bela canta tradition. If you have a special occasion, Carbones Miami Beach will make for a memorable evening.“

“We visited from Norway for world cup. This is a downtown restaurant, a bit higher priced than others. Great food and great service though. Santiago our waiter was brilliant, very attention focused on all our needs. Also explained the menu and was fast getting us refills. A nice evening out, we sat outside as they have big roof fans.“

We ordered a shared starter which arrived with numerous peanuts on the plate. The server had clearly paid no attention to the fact that one of our party had a nut allergy. Needless to say, the service is unmatched here from the moment you walk in. Started with a white wine, these are the dishes I opted for...summer salad, scallop crudo, koshihikari rice, black grouper and parfait. Need I say, everything single dish was a 10/10. Summer salad was perfectly balanced between the plums, nectarines and avocado and a little spice from the agua diablo. An explosion of flavors in every bite. The scallop crudo was like nothing I've ever tasted...perfectly cooked scallop with a little kick. The grouper was the star of the show...just perfection. The rice was a pleasant surprise of flavors that took shocked my palate a little but in the best way. Ended the meal with a very delicious rich parfait that wasn't overly sweet. I see why they're Michelin starred and it didn't disappoint, NOT ONE BIT. Space is underwhelming though. Not really romantic or cozy or aesthetically pleasing and very small but the food was without a doubt...PHENOMENAL, and that's all that really matters at the end.“

“Firsy things first, This restaurant is now called Celias. We were looking for Biscayne Tavern and walked right past it twice lol. Went inside the hotel and they let us know we were in the right spot and that the name had changed. The food was very tasty and served hot. The Mahi Mahi sandwich was seasoned perfectly and the cilantro sauce was delicious. We had a few drinks that were also delicious. Overall its a nice place, decorated beautifully with tropical colors and accents.“

“First time in was an open mic with a friend. The show was much better than the ones I'm used to back home, and we had a great time. The service and drinks are great; I love the giant jenga and the space as a whole. I've worked in the horse industry my whole life, and after 16 years of toeing the line between saying what needs to be said and saying what will get me asked to leave without pay, it was fantastic to be in a room that invited me to say whatever I wanted. Planning to come back as a participant.“
