Tried this very small Chinese restaurant. I could tell this was a family owned establishment immediately.

The hours of operation were well, so I decided to dine out with them. I called for an order and asked for the closing hours. The lady took my order promptly and had my order ready within 15min. Upon my arrival, the employees I could see were cooking it fresh. The food was not that cheap, but decently priced. (Comparatively). When trying the food, the food tasting still hot, was better than I expected. The chicken wasn’t chewy, and the broccoli was cooked well.

Would recommend this place as a decent late night option.“

“I am kinda picky when it comes to cheap strip mall-type Chinese food.

I mean, it's cheap, so you're not expecting haute cuisine, but it still needs to be filling and tasty and cost <$10 for a huge serving. You know what I mean!

Anyway, our other local spot, China Taste, changed its recipes up about 6 months ago and we started getting really dry sesame chicken. So tonight we gave this place a shot.

A bit further from our house, but worth the extra 3 minute drive, based on our first experience! Saucy, sweet, not too much breading - in short, very tasty. The rice was a bit mealy but it was a tradeoff I'd make in a heartbeat.

Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcome. Nothing to distract the kids but small enough you can enjoy your meal. Most people do take out here.“

The shrimp's with coconut curry are delicious, the egg rolls and pepper steak and the sweet chili tofu are super tasty. I have been coming here for over 25 years, it was called something else way back then but I’m pretty sure it’s the same family throughout… The food is always fresh and delicious, the lunch specials are a great deal! The family is also very friendly, even when I call to place my order they recognize the number and know my order!! I first started coming here when my store was in the same plaza and even though my store is now across Bee Ridge for the past 24 years I still risk my life to walk across and get lunch because it really is that good! “Clean, delicious dim sum! Better than the location by Lakewood ranch!! Try their rice rolls for lunch or homemade rice noodles with XO sauce for dinner. Or stop in for some tea & Portuguese custards! The pork buns are very sweet. This takes me back to New York City chinatown (of course nothing compares but this comes close). Not your typical junky Chinese food establishment - this place is different- no wonder they are packed!“

“Quite serviceable. Not gourmet sit down fine dining, and tables are basically used by folks waiting for their orders, but excellent for what it is, a strip mall take out joint.

The spice dishes are generally set for an American palate, so I could see someone who has a need for heat being disappointed. (I don't, and I don't know what happens if you ask for it spicy.) Unlike the spice, they do not hold back on the sugar, if it comes with a sweet-ish sauce, it will definitely be quite sweet - i.e. bourbon chicken, even Gen. Tso's is more sweet than hot.

The shop next door is a cigar bar, so for me, it's just as well it's take out. I don't smell it inside, but the sidewalk air is sometimes tainted and on those days I'm happy to let my nose reset on the drive home. And I do drive by a couple other places to get here.

I don't understand the criticism of the egg rolls in some reviews. They may not be outstanding hand rolled gems, and I feel pretty certain they are from the same supplier that services most (all?) of the similar take out places locally, but they are well executed, always fried to order hot, and really rise above with a dab of the hot mustard (not the insipid packets, but the little cups of the "good stuff" - not on menu, just ask).“

“I'm from Phila. where we had excellent Asian restaurants. We haven't been impressed with any of the Chinese restaurants in Bradenton until we found China Gourmet. “First time in, I went for dim sum, had steamed
tripe, chicken feet in black bean and salt and pepper calamari, all was very good, the calamari really did not have much of a salt and pepper flavor but I think it is better than to much salt and pepper, it was delicious anyway but I would just call it fried calamari, it also was sprinkled with crushed peanuts and some greens that was a nice touch, my waiter was very good and friendly, I can't wait to go back for dinner some time and will be back for dim sum for sure

Vegetarian options: I really did not look for it, but I did see a few vaggie and tofu dishes on the menu

“Have been there a few times with my friend after school and the food always hits. Their fried rice is the best I’ve had in Sarasota and the egg rolls are amazing. They package so much food into a tiny container for only 10-15 bucks, and the staff is great.“

“It’s a take out only. No delivery which is a shame but they have so many staff that the food order is prepared within just 10 minutes. I have to say it’s the best Chinese I’ve ever had! That’s because it wasn’t gloopy and full of MSG like most Chinese take out. It was clean and tasty and fresh. Also good value and large portion sizes. I am already looking forward to my next order!
