This isn't your average coffee shop; it's a unique blend of Moroccan and German influences that creates a truly special atmosphere. From the moment I walked in, the owner made me feel incredibly welcome – a truly pleasant start to my morning. The menu is an exciting array of coffee and tea options, promising something for every palate. But let's talk about the homemade pastries... absolutely divine! I highly recommend the spinach and cheese pastry; it was truly to die for – flaky, flavorful, and utterly satisfying. It's not every day you stumble upon a place like Hashtag Cafe. This hidden gem offers a warm, inviting ambiance and a delicious taste of something different. Super happy I discovered this spot and can't wait to explore more of their offerings. “My husband works in Gulf Gate, just a few storefronts down from Clever Cup, and we have been getting coffee from here since they have opened. I can honestly say that I have NEVER had a bad experience and the coffee and baked goods are always delicious! The baristas are amazing and although we probably shouldn't have favorites, I simply adore Veronika and Karissa. The two of them are always ready with a smile, a cheerful, 'Good Morning!' and even if I've had an icky start to my day, the two of them are always able to brighten my mood and I wind up walking out with delicious coffee and a smile. “First I want to start by saying I am not easily impressed but every now & then the Universe will grant us an inside look at how things could be when we operate in LOVE & gratitude. I had to have my new car serviced & had a less than pleasant experience at the dealership. It threw me into a less than desirable energy. It affected me. My partner suggested to “let’s take a walk down the street and grab some coffee” (probably to calm me down). When we got to the coffee shop he looked up it was closed. The lights were off & we didn’t see anyone in there nonetheless he grab the door to see if it would open (it didn’t). I was upset that we now walked down a busy street (me wearing wedges) to get coffee and the place was closed. I started walking off when out of nowhere the door opens to the coffee shop & the most friendly face peaked out & said “We are closed but I can’t let you leave disappointed, come in & I will serve you”. I was in disbelief. The shop was clean, the lights were off and this man opened his shop JUST FOR US. He goes on to tell us that he is the owner of the shop and his employees had already left and that he hasn’t fixed coffee in over ten years but he was going to take our order anyway. He proceeded to make us our desired coffee (all 4 orders were specialty orders-not regular coffee) …. All 4 of us couldn’t believe it & to make it even more beautiful, all 4 of us said it was THE BEST COFFEE we had ever had….. seriously, hands down and there isn’t even a close second…. The coffee was AMAZING. He allowed us to come into his shop after he had already closed it down, dirtied it up for us, allowed us to sit inside and drink our coffee AND conversed with us for a good half hour, telling us of his bad car dealership experiences, his wife and just joking with us. Had a smile on his face THE ENTIRE TIME while making our coffee and talking to us. His name is Rami. He is the owner of Compa Craft Coffee & Cocktails & also owns the pizza place across from it (I believe it is called Origins). My takeaway- it only takes ONE PERSON, one energy to affect many. I went in there with a negative energy & left with a life lesson, a living, breathing example of how LOVE can change the masses and the best coffee I have ever had my entire life. THIS human is what I aspire to be and his energy is what I aspire to encompass. Rami changed 4 lives with only a smile & a giving heart and doesn’t even know it. ❤️“

“Absolutely the BEST ice cream around. As a family we drive an hour nearly every week to eat Jake's ice cream...YES, it's that good! Incredibly kind owner and staff as well, this place is a must visit if in the Sarasota area (and beyond!) Once you've tasted Jake's ice cream it's hard to ever eat anything else, he's raising the standards for homemade ice cream with every flavor - although we all have our favorites we've never tried one we didn't like!! (My personal favorite is Salty Turtle)“

“As an unabashed "coffee snob", I take my bean juice seriously and have roasted my own green coffee beans for the past 5 years-ish. Tragically, I failed to monitor my "green" back-stock, ran out and learned this morning that my order wouldn't arrive until next week ?. In a panic I searched local roasters, found this place, bought some Ethiopian whole bean (roasted 1 day earlier) and got my espresso fix by 7:30am. It was delicious. Validation for me after dumping Starbucks years ago that FRESH ROAST MATTERS. Thank you BGCR for being there when I needed the real deal.

“Fabulous local cafe in downtown Sarasota located on Main St. near Lemon Ave! I started coming here around 10 years ago when Starbucks closed for renovations so this was my morning go to place on my bus layover and I’ve been a patron ever since. Although it’s changed hands a couple of times they’ve always had a very friendly staff and wonderful daily made pastry’s and treats…the coffee is great as well! If you’re downtown I highly suggest trying them out!“

I learned that they have two cold brews on tap. Making the decision between cold brew and nitro cold brew seemed indifferent. Fortunately Liv was on duty and offered me a sample! Boy was that a blessing. I was able to make my decision with some understanding of my options. Not only was the services amazing the artwork displayed was breathtaking! “The baristas are friendly, fast, and great at their jobs. We pop in while we're visiting family from out of state and the baristas are always incredibly kind and patient when we have questions. They appear to be dog friendly, as I've run into many (very well behaved!) pups who come in to sit quietly with their humans. There's also lots to do nearby, including the Opera House, Whole Foods, parks, and shopping!“

“This is my home Starbucks so I always go to it. The employees have always been awesome and have always gone out of the way to make me feel special by doing things like remembering my name. Today I had an experience that reminded me just how special this Starbucks is. As I pulled out my wallet to pay, I unknowingly dropped a 20 dollar bill on the ground. I was lucky that the lady behind me noticed and she picked it up and handed it back to me. This was very kind of her and being a poor college student I can use every dollar I got. “Although this place is not exclusively vegan, they have some of the best vegan food I have had in a while and everything was very clearly marked. It was hard to decide what to order—so many options to choose from! We ended up ordering the Bollywood handheld and the Farmer skillet (with tofu scramble). Added the vegan cinnamon roll to the skillet plate for a small upcharge, and got the golden milk latte with oat milk. Everything was delicious! Beautiful food and lovely staff. I enjoyed the homemade hot sauce so much I purchased a bottle for home. I regret not taking more pics of the food but will share a pic of the cinnamon roll and latte. I am already looking forward to the next time! Definitely recommend!“
