“My husband works in Gulf Gate, just a few storefronts down from Clever Cup, and we have been getting coffee from here since they have opened. I can honestly say that I have NEVER had a bad experience and the coffee and baked goods are always delicious! The baristas are amazing and although we probably shouldn't have favorites, I simply adore Veronika and Karissa. The two of them are always ready with a smile, a cheerful, 'Good Morning!' and even if I've had an icky start to my day, the two of them are always able to brighten my mood and I wind up walking out with delicious coffee and a smile. We love to shop local and this is one of the places we will ALWAYS support. Thanks, Clever Cup, we love you! 🥰“

“I Love this Place! I just discovered that it was here last week when someone told me about it. I went by on my lunch break and had a ham and cheese croissant and an iced coffee. It was delicious! I would normally go to Starbucks, but I must say the difference in the quality of food is night and day. This croissant was fresh. I liked it so much. I went by the next day as well and had a prosciutto tomato and cheese sandwich, with a Nutella iced coffee, and it was excellent! What a Gem of a place! I would highly recommend this to anyone that wants a lite selection of quick service food and a a delicious French coffee! I will be back many more times!“

“What a wonderful restaurant. I have traveled extensively in France and found this hidden jewel in my backyard. The food is not only exceptional, but also true to French cuisine. You have to try the croissants and baguettes which are freshly prepared daily. The crepes and sandwiches are superb as well as the desser pastries. I strong recommend this restaurant. It is definitely worth the drive.“

“Captain Curt's Crab & Oyster Bar: Review Overview: During a visit to Siesta Beach, we made sure to stop at Captain Curt’s Crab & Oyster Bar. The establishment is notably spacious, featuring two large outdoor Tiki areas where guests can relax with a drink or enjoy a meal. One of the Tiki areas includes a stage for live music, enhancing the lively atmosphere. Surrounding the main restaurant is Captain Curt’s Village, which offers a gift shop and several other stores within easy walking distance. The restaurant itself is clean, well-organized, and provides a laid-back vibe that we thoroughly enjoyed. Parking: Parking can be a challenge, as spaces are limited. We were able to find free parking right beside the restaurant, but there are also lots nearby available for a small fee. Service and Drinks: Our waitress, Renee, provided excellent and friendly service. We ordered Pina Coladas, served in large Captain Curt’s keepsake cups. The drinks were enjoyable, but the alcohol tended to settle at the bottom, so it’s important to stir before drinking to avoid a strong first sip. Food Experience: We sampled the clam chowder, which is advertised as the “World’s Best Clam Chowder.” While it may not be the best in the world, we found it very tasty with plenty of clams. My Captain’s Platter consisted of boiled Tripletail Fish, Bay Scallops, Gulf Shrimp, Mashed Potatoes, and mixed Vegetables, all of which were good. The Clam Basket, served with fries and Cole Slaw, was also very good. Additionally, the fish and chips were enjoyable. All food was served hot and in generous portions, leaving us both full when we finished. Overall Impression: We appreciated the quality of the food, the drinks, and the relaxed atmosphere. “Always polite, respectful, and just all out helpful staff. They always know how to make me smile. I 100% recommend this location. They are supper friendly, my order is ALWAYS correct. I have never had to correct anything or complain. They welcome my service dog and greet him every single time by name and give him a large pup cup. The atmosphere is so calm and relaxing inside. I love to just go inside, get my coffee and read my book to decompress! If you want amazing service and a great place relax come this location and not the Dunkin Donuts across the street, I found that out the hard way“

“I stopped in to meet with a friend and it was almost perfect. 4/5. I will start with the good. The latte was nice (they have oat and almond milk so happy to have diary free options). I ordered a pistachio muffin and was so excited to see they make them here. It was delicious! Probably one of the best I have had. Thank you for making this flavor! The woman at the counter was very nice and she makes a great latte. The cafe is small but has a decent amount of seating. The vibe is of a quick service cafe. It isn’t trying to be anything that it is not. The baked goods speak for themselves! So far so good! Until I realized there was a woman with her pet dog (not a service dog) at one of the tables INSIDE. She had a full breakfast spread and the dog barked the entire time. We got to hear the dog barking on and off the whole time AND listen to her snap at her dog to stop barking. It gets better. She put the dog in her lap several times (doggy dining health codes for OUTSIDE dining requires dogs to remain on the ground, off furniture/laps, and not use human dishes etc.). At one point the dog jumped on the other chair at her table and ate an entire quiche (or whatever it was) right off the plate. I was incredulous. Was this really happening? Why are we letting this happen? I love dogs and have two well behaved old guys that I will take for outside doggy dining when the weather is not too hot. Health codes are pretty clear about animals. My line of work also has me working closely with those needing properly trained service animals and this woman wasn’t even trying to pretend it was a service dog. Of course I will be back for a muffin and coffee. But if that woman is there with her dog again I might just go elsewhere.“
