My friend asked for a refill and the waitress looked at him like he was trying to smuggle tea leaves out of Boston Harbor. Apparently, he had already hit his "4-refill limit" (breaking news to both of us, I didn't get four refills) and was rudely advised that if he wanted more tea, he could "go to the supermarket and buy some tea bags himself."' I wasn't aware we were being graded on our tea consumption, but here we are. To add to the fun, the price has gone up by $2 since our last visit, so I suppose the extra charge covers the new refill enforcement department. Between the tea police, the refill quota, and the inflation surcharge, this place has brewed its last cup for us. 🍵”

“Just moved to Palm Bay just over a month ago and this is one of my favorite places to go. Super cool bartenders and other staff. Thursday night karaoke is a lot of fun and it’s the only place I’ve found in town that as a digital dart board which is huge for me because I love to play darts! Definitely recommend giving this place a try.”

Anyway, I grew up in Miami and have been in NC for the past 16 years. I was so happy to find a local Haitian restaurant.

I paid $27 for a large griot complete and a Jamaican Cola.

“Took myself on a date today! I wanted to try a new place, Osaka was AMAZING. First off; the staff were so friendly, accommodating and quick. I got the most refreshing honeydew boba tea, some of the best miso soup with plenty of tofu in it(my fav) and the “out of control” roll. This roll was filled with salmon tuna, white fish, avocado. On the inside of the roll there was torched salmon, tuna, white fish, Japanese mayo, spicy mayo, ell sauce and scallion’s. A small place but the flavors and staff are mighty! I will definitely be back!”

She argued with myself and my 6 year old son about the pickle with his meal. The pickle is included with a kids burger meal right?! I paid for it right? My special needs son cried, I was embarrassed for him and she finally brought one. Needless to say I will waste my gas to go to the beachside location and not this one. I can’t not have that happen again with my kids and she needs more training. Blonde with braided pig tails. We came around 11:30 on 6/39/2025. I’ve never been so embarrassed in my life. She needs more training or to be fired. Again will not ever return with my 3 kids and this has been a favorite place since our first child in 2015 and just us since 2013. “Al-Houda Restaurant - Palm Bay - 5 Stars Hidden Gem Alert Wow, what a great find! It actually took me 24 hours to think of an opening to this review. Al-Houda is the kind of restaurant that is why I do this day in and day out, looking for that one special place, that one special morsel of food, that single flavor that makes you go....WOW!!!!! Well, it's all here at Al-Houda. Let me further preface that my father's side of the family immigrated from Syria at the turn of the last century, so I spent many years eating a wonderful surprise of authentic Middle Eastern dishes. Most Middle Eastern restaurants have Americanized the region's food, and it's so rare to find authentic recipes that I don't even look anymore. Given this history, it was with great joy and happiness that I found Al-Houda's cuisine. Now all is not perfect in Al-Houda land. For one, it is a very small dining area with limited seating. I also found out later this restaurant mainly caters to the Florida Tech Arab group, so their hours are cut back drastically during the summer. The lady who greets you, who I assume is an owner, has very little grasp of the English language, to put it mildly. If you are willing to try this amazing food you will need to either order what I ordered or be prepared to point. The menu has a half-hearted English explanation of each item. (See the menu photos). The server will not be able to espouse the great wonders that await you. Furthermore, they only serve bottled drinks. I chose an Aryan (pronounced R-yawn) yogurt drink which is essentially Middle Eastern buttermilk. It was quite good and addicting with a sour finish that is actually enjoyable. For the main meal, I ordered lamb kafta with baba ghnouj. The baba was made in-house. There were tiny chunks of eggplant you don't get from the distributor. I do not believe the Kafta was chef-prepared from scratch with fresh ingredients but it was high quality, better than I have found locally otherwise. The crowning dish I consumed was Molokhia, which is a chicken stew with greens. The morsels of chicken are so tender and juicy they should put a whole chicken in it. As I repeatedly tell my readers I am not a chef, but I know enough to tell you about execution and presentation. When it comes to ingredients, if they are non-standard I can't always discern exactly what they are. In this dish, I know there are greens they call jute. Beyond that and the chicken all I can tell you is it is one of the best flavor sensations I have ever experienced - I mean ever. This dish is so flavorful and enjoyable you can't stop eating it. The Big Boy wants you to stop and give Al-Houda a try. Whether you are a Middle Eastern cuisine veteran or virgin, I promise you won't be disappointed”

“First time I visited Pherrara’s! Looking at their on line menu to see what I am going to get next visit! My wife had stuffed shells, lovely salad and garlic rolls would have made a meal itself! The shells were packed tightly cooked properly and covered in an authentic Italian pasta sauce. I ordered the Antipasto salad and sausage, peppers and onions sandwich. “Carmen's Restaurant and Catering 2280 Harris Ave NE Palm Bay, FL 32905 4 Stars After what appeared to be a mistake in my last Jamaican joint review (whoa, that has a few connotations), I thought I was being punished by immediately being sent to another one by my random name generator. After smacking it on the side a few times and shaking it, I found it to be working correctly, so I proceeded to Carmen's Restaurant and Catering in Palm Bay, FL. What a world of difference! Carmen is the proprietor and a one-woman show and boyo, let me tell ya, she sure shines. I found Carmen's menu to be a joy to behold, as eclectic as my vinyl collection. As such, I decided to go in a different direction today and steered away from the traditional Jamaican fare such as Jerk Chicken and Curried Goat and went with an order of Carmen's Fried Chicken with sides of rice, beans and potato salad along with an order of her Bang Bang Fried Shrimp Tacos (the same name as the drek at the horrid Bonefish Grill) with fries. As Carmen got to work on my eats, I took in the interior. I found it to be open, welcoming, bright, and cheery, not unlike the owner! Carmen was out in no time with my foodstuffs. Taking a few before pictures, I got to work. I turned my attention and palate to the Fried Chicken. The first thing I noticed was the crunch of the coating. If you look at the picture I've attached, you can see what I mean. That coating was slathered on without care for conservation. It wasn't too much, it was just enough. The chicken, blanketed in a tender, juicy, succulent coating, tasted superb. The rice and beans were well-cooked and seasoned with love. The potato salad, like everything else, I assume was made by Carmen and if your Grandmother makes a better potato salad, I will eat these words! I can't speak for you, but when I hear or read the words, Bang Bang, I immediately think of three things. First, playing cops and robbers as a child and “shooting” the bad guy with my finger gun while shouting, “Bang! Bang!” The second is the Bollywood bad remake of a worse film, “Bang Bang!” The third thing I think of is Chinese Street Chicken. None of this has anything to do with Carmen's Bang Bang Fried Shrimp Tacos, other than the Bang Bang sauce is loosely based on the Chinese Street Chicken tossing sauce. Carmen's Bang Bang sauce was a mixture of mayo, spicy stuff and it was mahvalous, dahling! The shrimp were coated with the same love and care as the chicken and were just as tender and juicy. Got Dayum! Carmen knows her way around a kitchen. I can only assume these are her recipes as well. She should open a restaurant and share this with...oh, wait. Never mind. With this meal and the success of the Fried Chicken at Cajun Soul, my hopes have been raised considerably. The Big Boy says, “If you want good eats served with love and a friendly smile, visit Carmen. Tell her the Big Boy sent ya (it's safe this time)!””

“Me and my family love this place! The place is always clean and neat. The food is consistent we love the chicken parm sandwich sometimes with extra cheese. My husband does the eggplant parm with pasta. We also love the split pea soup, among other faves. The bagels are always fresh reminds me of home (NYC). We love the breakfast bagels (the brunch buddy is a fave) All food is made to order but the little wait is so worth it! Sometimes we call ahead. “Mash Hoagies- Palm Bay- 3 Stars As I left MASH Hoagies in Palm Bay, full but not completely satisfied, I couldn't help but think of the late, great Rodney Dangerfield who once said, "I get no respect, I tell ya. The way my luck is running, if I was a politician, I would be honest." That is exactly how Sonny, the owner of MASH Hoagie's struck me. He is an honest, hard-working fellow, who wants nothing but to make the best product he can for his customers. Unfortunately, circumstances beyond his control prevent him from doing just that. Wanting to grasp the ever-elusive American Dream, Sonny purchased MASH Hoagies less than two months ago and is giving it the old college try. Sadly, it would appear, he is dying on the vine so to speak. Running a restaurant is a tough enough industry in which to find success, add to that buying a place with "meh" reviews to begin with and you have your work cut out for you. This eatery has everything you want in a casual dining experience: a clean, well lit, spacious dining area (including outdoor seating) and a friendly, helpful, motivated, on point staff. The only thing missing here is quality meats. I am sure that Sonny bought the place with the meat distributor already in place. Being a new owner, I don't blame him for sticking with them while he gets his feet wet in the marketplace. However, that time has long passed and it is time he moves beyond the shredded, pressed, sliced and processed meats (ala Subway and Jersey Mike's) and goes with a real meat distributor like Boar's Head or Deli Master's. I ordered "The Colonel Blake" as I never really got over Radar's infamous line, "I have a message. Lieutenant Colonel ... Henry Blake's plane ... was shot down ... over the Sea of Japan. It spun in ... there were no survivors." and I felt I needed the closure. I continued small talk with the engaging owner as he handcrafted my sub so that I could, in my own small way, say,"Abyssinia," to Col. Blake. The first thing that caught my eye was the way Sonny cuts the bread for his sandwiches; akin to how Subway originally cut theirs, he "scoops" out the top and makes a long bread bowl in which to ply his craft. He then expertly lays the ingredients down with care and genuine passion for his food. The green, crisp lettuce is placed on the bottom, followed by garden fresh tomatoes and then the whole kit and caboodle heads south with the introduction of the processed meat food product stacked high -- all topped off with your selection of sliced cheese. Everything was great, except, as noted before, the processed meats. If Sonny gets a new meat distributor I'll be back, meanwhile, The Big Boy says, "It's not bad if you're in a pinch and it has a great owner, but your food dollar would be better spent elsewhere.”

“My friends and I just discovered this nice little bar a couple of weeks ago when we were in the vicinity on a Saturday night. Lucky for us that was Karaoke night and had a blast. We came back again this weekend. People are kind and call you by your name, drinks and Beca (our bartender for the night) were great too. We will definitely be back again next week.”

“My husband and I came to the drive through of this Arby's on October 18 and we ordered the new Beef nugget sandwich and jalapeño poppers with rxtra ranch dressing (the sweet hot sauce provided with the jalapeño poppers has too much sugar for my diabetic husband). The service was friendly and fast - and they got the order right.
The jalapeño poppers were awesome, as always, but I want to give a shout out for the new Beef nuggets!!!! This was served on a soft bun with cheese and bits of onion rings and fries for crunch.
The meat is slow smoked and has a taste and texture of brisket without all the fat. This meat is so fall-apart tender that a person with no teeth could eat it and be happy. (We both have teeth, lol, but this would be good news for denture wearers.

“Krispy Krunchy Chicken, 190 E. Eau Gallie Blvd., Indian Harbor Beach, FL 32937 You 4 Stars (chain restaurant review) Instead of going for a quick Burger or Taco, why not mix it up a bit and head over to your local KKC and change up the routine? Yes, I said KKC, not KFC. The one my random name generator directed me to in Indian Harbor Beach, FL, is 1 of over 2,700 locations across 47 of these United States and some in Malaysia and American Samoa, mainly in convenience stores and gas stations. This one beachside is super clean and, well, beachside. As I stepped up to the counter, I was greeted by Ryan. He is the counter specialist and cook as well. Ryan has a fetching personality and was exceedingly helpful as we placed our order. I ordered some Honey Biscuits, Fried Shrimp, Fried Fish and some Cajun Chicken Tenders. Ryan excused himself to the kitchen while we sat and snapped a few pictures of the place. As I said, it is clean enough to pass any white glove test. I thought it would be nice if the tables had a virginal to pass the time when Ryan indicated our order was up. If a place is advertising hand-breaded chicken, their biscuits better not be the Sysco plug-n-play variety and these weren't. They were obviously made to order and outstanding on the palate. Baked to a perfect golden brown, these were warm, flaky and drizzled in honey. I would rate the biscuits at 4.5 Stars and these are worth the trip all by themselves. They would also make a great after-school/work/errand snack. Next, I took a sampling of the Fried Shrimp. This was nothing to write home about but nothing to scoff at either. The shrimp were of a good size and deep fried to a pleasing color, just missing a little "oomph" to push them over a slightly above-average rating of 3 Stars. Moving on, I set my peepers on the Fried Fish. If the Fried Shrimp was slightly above average, the Fried Fish was slightly below. The Fish had an ever so light fishy taste and as we all know, it shouldn't. The Fried Fish, by itself, would have a meager 2-star rating. This brings me to the final item in my order, the Cajun Chicken Tenders. I went with the 6 PCs, which is a good thing I did as they weren't long for the table! How could you go wrong with hand-breaded breast tenders in a savory coating with tasty dipping sauces? The Tenders were deep fried to a model color and doneness that would make Gordon Ramsay say, "Now, that's an Effin' chicken tender!" If I were just rating the Tenders, this would be a 4.5 Star review all day, every day. As it is, I'm sticking with the 4 Star until they get fresher fish. The Big Boy says, "You know you want some, so just give in and go."”

“Sweet Delight Jamaican Cuisine 4500 Dixie Hwy. NE Palm Bay, FL 32905 4 Stars Life, in general, is fleeting moments of time with people you may only interact with once, but when you do, a big grin immediately breaks across your face. This I how I felt when I met Neville, the owner of today's foray into the dense jungle of Greasy Spoons dotting the landscape of the Space Coast. My random name generator had directed me deep into the mainland as I found myself in front of Sweet Delight Jamaican Cuisine in Palm Bay. I took a few deep breaths to control my OTB syndrome and went inside. This is when I encountered the jovial Neville. Not only was I enjoying his company, but I truly enjoy well-made Jamaican food. Epicurean delights from the tiny island nation have a delightful mix of sweet, tangy and spicy all wrapped up in one bite. Looking over the handwritten menu board didn't take a whole lot of time. Most of it was spent chatting with Neville. However, I did manage to get in an order for some Curry Chicken, Curry Goat, Oxtail Rice & Peas and to round things out I decided to give Neville's Spicy Beef Patty a whirl. Picking up on Neville's dimissory vibe, my dining, I headed to a table to await our victuals. Within an acceptable amount of time, Neville brought our food up. After snapping the obligatory pictures, we grabbed our grub, received our dimissory from the owner and headed back beach side. Not wanting to take my time getting home as the olfactory property emanating from the take-out containers was causing me to drool just a little bit, I might have gone a tad over the posted speed limit. I'm not saying I did, but I'm not saying I didn't. What happened next shocked me. It still does. My persnickety 15-year-old, who eats like a bird as the old adage goes, scarfed down the Curry Chicken like she hadn't eaten in a week. She doesn't eat a lot, but trust me, I do feed her! As I had due diligence to try a bite for the critique, I asked her for one but by then it was gone. Well, that put a dent in my buzz. Objectively speaking, it must have been otherworldly in flavor. I had no idea she loved Curry Chicken like this. I found the Curry Goat to be exceptional. The Goat was tasty, tender and cooked to perfect doneness, while the curry was flavorful and spicy. This was truly well-done Jamaican food. The Oxtail Rice and peas were next up on the Big Boy's discerning palate. Again, the meat was a carnivore's dream. However, and this is the reason for the 4 and not a 5-star review, the rice and peas were just this side of overcooked. Maybe it was kept at serving temperature too long, or someone got distracted in the kitchen for a second. Regardless, the damage was done. Moving on to the final item in today's meal, the Spicy Beef Patty. This was cooked to perfection and all I can say about the seasoning is, “WOW”! This was excellent, with just enough punch to make sure you're paying attention and well hydrated, yet the underlying complexity of the Jamaican spices was not overshadowed. The Big Boy says, “If you like new foods and are willing to give them a try, this is the place to start.””

“I started going to this Starbucks last summer when I started my new job after being laid off. I quickly loved the staff as they were always so kind and started recognizing me when I would mobile order. Since then, this is the only Starbucks I order from (going the opposite direction sometimes) because they never get my order wrong and are so friendly. The staff has gotten to know me personally and asks how my family is unprompted as I’ve experienced hardships. No matter how busy they are, they always have the time to say hello. They have become apart of my morning routine and I am grateful to have this community.”

“I wasn't always a fan of Subway. Recently I've been eating them do to being a diet and their bowls are great. Until my recent order tonight. I've spent a lot of money in the last few months. All my orders have been $60 tops. With two kids and spouse. Well the bowl I got had 5 pieces of meat and missing most of the toppings I requested. So I paid $13 for a few pieces of meat and some lettuce. I'm very disappointed 😞 Think I will take my business back to Jersey Mike's.”

I saw they posted on their story of their addition of deluxe wing baskets that you can now get with macaroni & cheese and collard greens. When I tell y’all the sides exceeded my expectations! 😋 I didn’t get a photo of my own plate because I ate it so quick lol BUT it does come out looking like their advertisement which is always a plus 👍🏾 The portion size of the sides are great, they both were perfectly seasoned, and of course the wings were great also (I’ve eaten here plenty of times, but I really wanted to try their versions of 2 of my favorite side items. They did not disappoint!). Whoever made the mac n’ cheese and greens, please tell them thank you very much and to keep doing what they’re doing! They both were excellent 🙏🏾”
