“I grew up in the area and have been eating smoked mullet for nearly 50 years. In the 1970's mullet were plentiful all along the coast and you could get it raw or cooked in several different ways everywhere you went, but the smoked was always a hit with me. As time went by the mullet schools shrank and it became harder and harder to find it in any form. The occasional pop-up roadside warrior over the week-ends advertised "smoked mullet", but 9 times out of 10 the spice was too powerful, the smoke hadn't penetrated or the meat was either raw or over cooked and so dry that it could barely be swallowed. I finally stopped to give Gulley's a try and was NOT disappointed. I am here to tell you that Gulley's smoked mullet is the REAL DEAL. Perfect in every way. While there I also tried their mullet spread and it is Heavenly as is their mullet dipping sauce. Needless to say.. I will be back.“

“Anna Maria Oyster Bar - Ellenton, FL After spending the day at the Florida State Fair in Tampa, my fiancé and I decided to stop by Anna Maria Oyster Bar in Ellenton—and we’re so glad we did! We ordered fried oysters, French fries, and cheese grits, and everything was absolutely delicious. The oysters were fried to perfection, crispy on the outside yet tender and flavorful inside. The cheese grits were just the way I like them—nice and thick—and the fries were a great complement to the meal. Even better, our food arrived quickly and fresh. Our waitress, Lilly, was fantastic, providing friendly and attentive service. We also appreciated how the rest of the staff greeted us warmly as we walked through the restaurant. It’s little details like that that make a place feel extra welcoming. The restaurant itself was clean and well-kept, including the bathrooms, which is always a big plus. Anna Maria Oyster Bar now has four locations, and after this experience, I’d definitely visit again. If you’re in the Ellenton area and craving fresh seafood with great service, this spot is a must-try!“

“We had a great seafood boil! Seafood tasted fresh and their spices were good. Service was fantastic. We sat outside on patio and it was not that nice out there, buckets and cleaning supplies laying around etc. Other than that a great casual place for seafood boils, go for the food and ignore the atmosphere!“

“I just tried their lobster salad roll last weekend while we were staying at the beach for a couple nights. I was going back to our room from the beach and it was over 100 degrees out, the kids were grumpy and I just wanted a lobster roll. It was delicious! The staff was so friendly, and even gave me a sample of their slushy drink (mix the lemonade and strawberry açaí 😉) and it was SO refreshing. I’ll definitely have to visit every time we are in town.“

“My friend and I went on Saturday night. We both had a drink and ordered appetizer while looking at the menu. Our waiter was right there with our hot appetizer within minutes. We both ordered shrimp and scallops coleslaw hush puppies along with our fried calamari appetizer. Our food was one of the best we've had in and around Bradenton/Sarasota. The atmosphere was perfect and service was the best. I cant wait to go back.“

“The restraunt is on the 8th floor allowing for spectacular views of the Manatee River. It’s been open 1 month. Hostess & servers were attentive. Presentation of the food was lovely. Beverages:Eighth floor & Palomita Fresa (pink) were delightful. Wagyu carpaccio ( tasty) Caribbean lobster bisque ( chunks of lobster) , Wagyu filet & lobster, Wagyu filet & crab cake ( the filet could be cut with a butter knife. Lots of crab) , Brussel sprouts ( I would pass on ordering at next visit) lobster Mac & cheese ( chunks of lobster and flavorful) tropical paradise ( a bit of tart & cream paired) & Chocolate Praline Truffle ( rich & indulgent). “Don’t let the run down outside appearance fool you. This is a hidden gem. Very fairly priced with an absolutely massive buffet and huge selection down to a bunch of flavors of real ice cream. Service was exceptional. Interesting to see that the wait staff of Asian descent are culturally more respectful and attentive to their work than our local youth of today. What this says for our Nation I can’t say for sure, but you can still get a womping, tasty, and fairly priced meal at this great bradenton Chinese buffet. The inside is very nice as well, seating and ambiance. Clean, good food across the board.“
