“We ate here while visiting our daughter Alicia on vacation at the end of August this year. She is a server at the restaurant and wanted us to see the establishment where she worked. She made an early evening reservation around 5-5:30 on a Wednesday. The restaurant was not as busy as I understand it can be during peak season. We came in and were seated immediately thanks to the reservation. I guess wait times can be 2.5-3 hours in peak season without one. The views from the upper level dining room were amazing. We saw some dolphins, an eagle perched atop a sailboat in the docks by the restaurant and I think even a manatee. Our server Rachel (spelling?) was a delight. The establishment is somewhat off the beaten path, but very well known amongst locals and return tourists. A little pricey for what I’m used to, but for the experience and the fresh local seafood, well worth the one time effort. My wife, my daughter and I all ordered something different. We started with grouper bites as an appetizer, which were amazing. My wife ordered the fried shrimp and enjoyed it very much. My daughter got the locally caught, fresh red snapper, which she ordered blackened. She shared some with me and it was incredible. I ordered a seafood combination which included lobster tail, stuffed crab cake and grilled scallops. Everything was so tasty and cooked to perfection. The staff was also friendly and pleasant to meet during our visit. The next day we met some more of her coworker friends at a birthday get together for her. They all seemed very nice and we had an amazing time celebrating her birthday. What an incredible experience and vacation. This restaurant was a gem hidden right in the heart of Longboat Key. I hope we can revisit here on our next trip.“
