“My husband works in Gulf Gate, just a few storefronts down from Clever Cup, and we have been getting coffee from here since they have opened. I can honestly say that I have NEVER had a bad experience and the coffee and baked goods are always delicious! The baristas are amazing and although we probably shouldn't have favorites, I simply adore Veronika and Karissa. “What a wonderful restaurant. I have traveled extensively in France and found this hidden jewel in my backyard. The food is not only exceptional, but also true to French cuisine. You have to try the croissants and baguettes which are freshly prepared daily. The crepes and sandwiches are superb as well as the desser pastries. I strong recommend this restaurant. It is definitely worth the drive.“

“First I want to start by saying I am not easily impressed but every now & then the Universe will grant us an inside look at how things could be when we operate in LOVE & gratitude. I had to have my new car serviced & had a less than pleasant experience at the dealership. It threw me into a less than desirable energy. It affected me. My partner suggested to “let’s take a walk down the street and grab some coffee” (probably to calm me down). When we got to the coffee shop he looked up it was closed. The lights were off & we didn’t see anyone in there nonetheless he grab the door to see if it would open (it didn’t). I was upset that we now walked down a busy street (me wearing wedges) to get coffee and the place was closed. I started walking off when out of nowhere the door opens to the coffee shop & the most friendly face peaked out & said “We are closed but I can’t let you leave disappointed, come in & I will serve you”. I was in disbelief. The shop was clean, the lights were off and this man opened his shop JUST FOR US. He goes on to tell us that he is the owner of the shop and his employees had already left and that he hasn’t fixed coffee in over ten years but he was going to take our order anyway. He proceeded to make us our desired coffee (all 4 orders were specialty orders-not regular coffee) …. All 4 of us couldn’t believe it & to make it even more beautiful, all 4 of us said it was THE BEST COFFEE we had ever had….. seriously, hands down and there isn’t even a close second…. The coffee was AMAZING. He allowed us to come into his shop after he had already closed it down, dirtied it up for us, allowed us to sit inside and drink our coffee AND conversed with us for a good half hour, telling us of his bad car dealership experiences, his wife and just joking with us. Had a smile on his face THE ENTIRE TIME while making our coffee and talking to us. His name is Rami. He is the owner of Compa Craft Coffee & Cocktails & also owns the pizza place across from it (I believe it is called Origins). My takeaway- it only takes ONE PERSON, one energy to affect many. I went in there with a negative energy & left with a life lesson, a living, breathing example of how LOVE can change the masses and the best coffee I have ever had my entire life. THIS human is what I aspire to be and his energy is what I aspire to encompass. Rami changed 4 lives with only a smile & a giving heart and doesn’t even know it. ❤️“

Incredibly kind owner and staff as well, this place is a must visit if in the Sarasota area (and beyond!) Once you've tasted Jake's ice cream it's hard to ever eat anything else, he's raising the standards for homemade ice cream with every flavor - although we all have our favorites we've never tried one we didn't like!! I started coming here around 10 years ago when Starbucks closed for renovations so this was my morning go to place on my bus layover and I’ve been a patron ever since. Although it’s changed hands a couple of times they’ve always had a very friendly staff and wonderful daily made pastry’s and treats…the coffee is great as well! I had such a great experience at Bad Ass Coffee! From the moment I walked in, the staff was incredibly kind and welcoming — you can really tell they love what they do and care about the people who walk through their doors. The atmosphere is relaxed and fun, with just the right mix of energy and island vibes.

The coffee? Absolutely delicious. Smooth, rich, and full of flavor — you can taste the quality. The coffee ice is a game changer!!Whether you’re grabbing a quick cup or hanging out for a while, it’s the kind of place that makes you want to come back.

I also appreciated the little details — the place was clean, well-designed, and had a great selection of drinks and snacks. It’s the perfect local spot if you want something way better than your average chain. Highly recommend stopping by — you’ll leave happier (and more caffeinated)!

Bathrooms were clean, both the men's and the women's according to what my wife experienced. I had some kind of fruit drink but not a smoothie. It tasted similar to a Crystal Light drink and was $4.95. Since we had access to a clean bathroom and spent about $10 for 2 beverages, I was satisfied.“

It was hard to decide what to order—so many options to choose from! We ended up ordering the Bollywood handheld and the Farmer skillet (with tofu scramble). Added the vegan cinnamon roll to the skillet plate for a small upcharge, and got the golden milk latte with oat milk. Everything was delicious! Beautiful food and lovely staff. I enjoyed the homemade hot sauce so much I purchased a bottle for home. I regret not taking more pics of the food but will share a pic of the cinnamon roll and latte. “I wish I'd used the app and had a record of the barista I had today, because in addition to helping me through a rather convoluted order (I was trying to use the secret menu for a frappe but the recipe wasn't there so we had to kind of guesstimate it), dealing with an unorthodox payment method, but he also learned through conversation with me that I'd run to the Starbucks and didn't have sunscreen, and he offered his without missing a beat. So besides him just being an excellent person, it impressed on me that this Starbucks location and possibly the corporate culture somewhat has employees comfortable enough to be themselves at work, be personable with their customers, and relaxed enough to handle their job with ease and take time for friendly banter. It was a great experience overall I'm very happy I went here.
