“Tried this amazing Chinese restaurant last night on a whim. I’ve always heard lots of good things about here, especially since it’s across the street from my job. Food was soooo good. Got some General Tso’s chicken in a combo platter, pork fried rice and white rice. Everything was hot, cooked perfectly and so delicious! Good prices as well! Highly recommend this fine establishment! Will be ordering from again!“

“This is real authentic Chinese cuisine more specifically it’s northern Chinese cuisine. Very similar to what you would find in Beijing or Shenyong. They had a great selection of beef, chicken, pork, lamb, shrimp, dishes, and skewers. They also had more exotic fair, such as squid, frogs, chicken feet, pork belly, beef heart, beef tripe, and duck bleed. It’s pretty awesome! The service was great even late at night and we really loved the cucumber salad and the grilled eggplant. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves authentic Chinese cuisine.“

OLD REVIEW -
I ordered beef with no veggies and even paid extra for meat — but the extra meat wasn’t there. When I raised the issue, the supervisor claimed he packed my food, but clearly something was missed. This isn’t the first time I’ve ordered from here; in the past they’ve taken care of me properly, but today was sloppy and disappointing. I hope management addresses this so it doesn’t happen again.“

“Celebrated our wedding anniversary here on a Friday evening (Halloween of all nights). Greeted by friendly hostess and quickly seated (reservation not necessary but I planned ahead and scheduled anyway). Had Mongolian Beef with rice and husband had Chicken Broccoli dish. Both were very tasty and plentiful. We would both order again. Isaiah, our server, was very friendly and attentive. He even surprised us with a decadent Key Lime pie dessert in honor of our anniversary. Do ask for him. Nice man!“

The restaurant features an open kitchen with a large but not overwhelming menu. I chose yellow curry chicken, Thai basil with tofu and a pad Thai dish as well as shrimp lettuce wraps. Everything was delicious even though it was an hour before I made it home for us to eat dinner. What I like best is they do a little of everything - Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese and even noodles and poke without offering so many of each kind that you know it’s going to be awful. The manager took great care of me, mentioning that this is their second location after a long stint in Tampa and that the business is owned by a Chinese individual who is adamant about serving Asian food, rather than just his country’s dishes. I liked it and look forward to taking my family and friends. Feels comfortable and is affordable. I spent $62 to feed four people and we have leftovers in the fridge.“

“We ordered delivery from Hong Kong a few weeks ago after an exhaustive search for *good* Chinese food. We were really pleasantly surprised at the quality, so we ordered again last night.

This place does not disappoint. We got the Chicken Fried Rice and The Four Seasons, and both dishes were excellent quality. The proteins they use are great quality and you can tell they are using fresh vegetables. They're crisp and perfectly cooked.

You get a lot of food for the price you pay as well. Delivery was on time (a few min early, actually).

This is our new go-to spot for Chinese food. Please keep up the quality, great prices and portions, and friendly service!

“They really know how to prepare and cook their dishes! The Boneless Spare Ribs was tender! Other restaurants in the past has been tough like shoe leather. Not New China! Portions were awesome, the General Toas Chicken was the best! The owner doesn't treat you like a number but he's friendly and patient. The staff is great too. “This is by far my favorite Chinese food in the Tampa Brandon area. Lo-mein is perfectly seasoned and cooked, the chicken has a great chicken to breading ratio, THE EGG ROLLS are sooooo good. I’ve had egg rolls where they taste dirty from not washing the cabbage but I can tell they really go all out and do a great job. The krab ragoon has a good ratio of cream cheese. “I came through the drive through to pick up my App order and the lady says she can't find it because the App is down. I explained that it had processed the order and won't let me cancel. She keeps telling me the money will automatically go back to my card but there's nothing she can do to help me. I ask to speak with a manager. The food is delicious and fresh, the portions are generous, and the ingredients are high quality. I enjoy picking up my lunch here because the service is great, and the staff is very friendly. Their lunch specials are my favorite, and I go at least once a week to get my lunch. They are also very quick at getting the food ready.

“I've been going to HoHo Choy since the location on Ehrlich was open. It closed about 20 years ago. Fletcher is the original, and it's still the best.

No one does giant, stretchy, delicious sesame + sweet red bean dimsum like they do. Daikon cakes are perfect. I make rice at home but sometimes... I need their veggie fried rice with extra bean sprouts.

Yeah, the krab rangoon are quite good. They aren't bready or weirdly sweet and cake-like on the outside, the way some places make them. The outside is crisp and folded into squares for a pocket of filling. But that's really low on the list of what I go for.

I know some people don't like how long something takes but the wait is worth it. They run a small restaurant, not a McDonald's. That's why the food comes out so well.

I've never seen many people eating in the dining room. It's open and calm, very basic layout and minimal decor- which to me, means a lot more cleaning. Ick. HoHo Choy keeps it simple. Take-out is made to order. Try something you've never had before! Try the dimsum menu!“
