“China Star never disappoints! Their fried special rice is my absolute favorite; flavorful, perfectly cooked, and packed with fresh ingredients. I also love their broccoli and steak, crispy and tasty egg rolls, and sweet and sour chicken. The food is consistently delicious, and the service is always friendly and attentive. This is my go-to spot whenever I’m craving great Chinese food!“

“We went for dinner tonight on Mother's Day based on Google Reviews. The food was a beautiful, fresh, and DELICIOUS! The owner came out to see how everything was and gave us a little background story & family history (which I always love). Super friendly, family oriented. DELICIOUS! Try it!! Tell your friends. “This is one of those places where I rarely ever see non-Asian people. The menu is mostly in Chinese and it’s hard to understand. This is probably why it’s not super crowded. however, this place is special. first the skewers. This is a northern Chinese restaurant and the flavors are influenced by Mongolia. The lamb skewer was delicious. The chicken skewer was delicious. Both with notes of cumin and perhaps coriander seed. The squid skewer was delicious and spicy with hints of miso. If you order a bowl of rice and five skewers, you have yourself a quick delicious meal for 12 bucks. The sweet and sour pork was unique. Not like any other “regular” Americanized one and should be tried. The mapo tofu was delicious and no holds barred. Very spicy.“

“Our server, Chase, was great, and I will ask to sit in their section every time we come in the future. The food portions seem to be smaller than what they used to be, which is a bummer. Most of the time we are able to be seated without a reservation with no wait.“

“So it's Christmas day, and everyone has the same idea of getting Chinese food. Totally normal, totally cool. Well, this place is a hidden gem. They are fast, authentic, and the atmosphere is way better than Yummy Best. There's also enough parking that is clearly what is or isn't parking.
On that note, the people and this restaurant really embody this tradition. Thank you China Wok family.“

“Ordered to-go from Liang’s Bistro pretty much by accident. I was in the area and wanted Asian to go but not Chinese or Ramen or Sushi. Limits the options, yes. Went here hoping it was more than a typical Chinese takeout shop. It turned out to be a bistro, as it is called, with a pretty and warm interior, table-side service and an impressive wine storage along one wall. The restaurant features an open kitchen with a large but not overwhelming menu. I chose yellow curry chicken, Thai basil with tofu and a pad Thai dish as well as shrimp lettuce wraps. Everything was delicious even though it was an hour before I made it home for us to eat dinner. What I like best is they do a little of everything - Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese and even noodles and poke without offering so many of each kind that you know it’s going to be awful. The manager took great care of me, mentioning that this is their second location after a long stint in Tampa and that the business is owned by a Chinese individual who is adamant about serving Asian food, rather than just his country’s dishes. I liked it and look forward to taking my family and friends. Feels comfortable and is affordable. I spent $62 to feed four people and we have leftovers in the fridge.“

“If you’re looking for food that truly tastes like up north, this is the spot! We’ve been on the hunt for legit Chinese food and were disappointed every time, until now. We tried this place yesterday and it absolutely delivered. We drove quite a distance to get here, and let me tell you, it was 100% worth it. We’ll definitely be back!“

“Worked at a Chinese restaurant for years, it's actually so difficult to find authentic (Americanized) Chinese restaurants that aren't corporate or taste fake. The best tasting Chinese takeout I've ever had in Tampa and they are always flexible with orders.“

“I visited there because of the great reviews and I'm very pleased. I had the Szechuan Beef Combination and loved it. It was just spicy enough and very tasty. The portion looked small but there's quite a bit of food packed into those small packages. I used to go to Wok and Roll on Kennedy but it closed so I'm glad I found a Chinese takeout place I like even better. I highly recommend China Wok in South Tampa 🎉“

“Save yourself do not eat here! This is quite possibly the worst Chinese food ever. The egg roll had very little contents and what was there was mushy. My wonton was cloudy and wrappers with little to no filling.“

“We ordered delivery from Hong Kong a few weeks ago after an exhaustive search for *good* Chinese food. We were really pleasantly surprised at the quality, so we ordered again last night.
This place does not disappoint. We got the Chicken Fried Rice and The Four Seasons, and both dishes were excellent quality. The proteins they use are great quality and you can tell they are using fresh vegetables. They're crisp and perfectly cooked.
You get a lot of food for the price you pay as well. Delivery was on time (a few min early, actually).
This is our new go-to spot for Chinese food. Please keep up the quality, great prices and portions, and friendly service!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“

“Other than the employee insisting on lecturing on the difference between broccoli, soft versus well done, the food was good considering Chinese food in Florida, but his tone with me left a sour taste in my mouth and the place is too small that I had to wait in the car until my food was ready. I gave it 4 stars just because the food was good enough that I would recommend going there.“

“Of the 30+ chinese food placed i have tried in tampa this is very likely a top 5. Price is reasonable and the food was solid. Egg rolls were good. Crab rangoon was delicious. Food didn't taste like it was completely loaded with sodium. The chicken was tender not chewy like a lot of places. the hot and sour soup was full of mushrooms and tofu not just broth and it was perfectly spicy not too hot not too sour. The shrimp with lobster sauce was good. I do prefer the lobster sauce to be a little thicker but that was the only bad thing I could say about my order. I will likely order from here again“

“Wow! The service was outstanding, with our meal being delivered directly to our hotel room door. The portion sizes were also notably generous. While the entire meal was delightful, the egg roll filling was not to my personal taste. I highly recommend this establishment for its exceptional service and value.“

“My husband and I are from NY where the takeout Chinese is top tier. Moving to Tampa, I have been searching for a quality take out spot and found it!
The staff is friendly, the food has so much flavor and quality, and the prices are very reasonable. Their lunch special is the best!
We have tried a handful of different meals from their diverse menu and have never been disappointed.“

“Normally the food is really good here but something was definitely wrong in the kitchen last night. We ordered one meal spicy, and everything but the lo mein and chicken was filled with red pepper flakes and waaay too hot to eat. Didn’t receive our rice either. I hope it gets resolved.“

“They really know how to prepare and cook their dishes! The Boneless Spare Ribs was tender! Other restaurants in the past has been tough like shoe leather. Not New China! Portions were awesome, the General Toas Chicken was the best! The owner doesn't treat you like a number but he's friendly and patient. The staff is great too. Great job and I hope you will be there for a long time.“

“Wow! Yum! The best Chinese I’ve had in Brandon. Prices are reasonable. They didn’t charge extra for sauces. The portions were big and food was flavorful and fresh. They have a pull up window for pick up orders.
My only complaint and reason they lost a star is because there were no Fortune cookies. Big sad!“

“I have already tried this place multiple times, so I feel confident giving my review. I'm surprised by the current rating, this place is five stars. The food is delicious and fresh, the portions are generous, and the ingredients are high quality. The restaurant feels clean, they use good packaging for takeout, and they have about 4 to 5 tables for dining in.
I enjoy picking up my lunch here because the service is great, and the staff is very friendly. Their lunch specials are my favorite, and I go at least once a week to get my lunch. They are also very quick at getting the food ready.
Overall, I love this place. So far, it's my favorite spot for Chinese fried rice and General Tso's chicken in Tampa. I highly recommend it, especially for days when you don't feel like cooking, have a craving for Chinese food, or need a quick lunch for the office.
The photos show the General Tso's chicken, fried rice, spring roll, and steamed dumplings, everything was delicious.“

“Best Chinese takeout in Tampa! My food is always fresh and crispy like I asked. The sweet tea is excellent, always greeted with a smile, AND THEY SELL CHEESESTEAK ROLLS!!! 😋 Also I like that the condiments you can get yourself. So when I need extra sauce no biggie or extra charge. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐“

“I’ve been coming here for a long time and they’re consistently great. The food is always fresh, hot, and actually flavorful, which is more than I can say for a lot of places. My go-to is the chicken skewers with fries and it never disappoints.
I really appreciate that you can call ahead and have everything ready for pickup. It’s always smooth, no hassle, no attitude, just good food that tastes the same every time. Reliable, delicious, and worth coming back to.“

“This is my go to spot in Tampa, they’re always so quick and on point. The food is bomb, I always get the General Tso dinner combination (photos attached) and love the eggrolls have actual veggies in it and not that weird mushy stuff most Chinese restaurants do. 10/10 would recommend“

“My main entree was entirely incorrect and not what I would eat at all. I discovered this when I got to my hotel. My roast pork fried rice side was delicious. My wonton soup was average. The crispy noodles were stale. My special instruction to please add some spice was ignored. I waited quite a while for my food to be ready.“

“I still think Golden China on dale mabry is the best. However, this is a decent taste when I don’t want to drive far and their hot oil sauce is better. Other than that the shrimp is WAYYY TOO SMALL AND thats why they don’t get 5 stars. They may not be using saffron to make rice yellow but my other spot does. You can taste the difference in the rice. Overall not horrible compared to new china“

“A take out restaurant for sure. Their food is amazing. I'm obsessed with their dumplings like obsessed.. honestly everything I've had from here has been yummy. I've been looking for a good Chinese takeout place and this is the one. Only thing i don't love is you have to pay for fortune cookies they should just throw a handful in like the rest. Other than that i really recommend !“

“😍 This is my first time eating chinese buffet at China Buffet and i met the owner who run this restaurant for more than 15 years. He spent 6 months to refurbished this whole place. It is clean and the is family friendly and there is eel sushi which is my son's fav. If you would like to have something of everything this is the place. I will definitely bring my children there when we want to feast!!! The workers are friendly! It is safe place for single mom like me!“

“China Taste on Van Dyke is hands down one of the best local Chinese restaurants around! The food is always hot, fresh, and full of flavor. Every dish tastes made-to-order, with generous portions and great prices that make it an easy favorite for takeout nights.
Their egg drop soup is especially amazing — rich, comforting, and perfectly seasoned, with that classic silky texture that’s hard to get just right. It’s easily one of the best I’ve had anywhere. Pair it with their lo mein, sesame chicken, or fried rice and you’ve got a perfect meal.
The staff is friendly, quick, and always welcoming. Whether you call ahead or order in person, the service is fast and reliable, and your food is always ready when promised.
If you’re in the Lutz or Van Dyke area and craving great Chinese food, China Taste is a must-try. Delicious food, great service, and unbeatable consistency — definitely a five-star spot!“

“Writing down this review because im a picky eater and I keep forgetting what I like. Honey chicken is sweet in sour chicken (deep fried in a tempura batter) tossed in a sweet sauce. I'm not a fan of the bourbon chicken (got it years ago and never tried it again since); the mongolian chicken is stir fried. Orange, sesame, and general tso chicken uses the same chicken base (dark meat chicken with lots of nooks and crannies for the sauce to hold to); orange sauce is sweet and spicy, sesame is not sweet and doesnt rely on sesame oil (which i like), and general tso is not sweet and mostly a spicy chili sauce (either there was a different dish that was sweet and spicy or this dish got less sweet over time). Lo mein is in the takeout containers while chow mein is in a plastic container and is very wet. Mixed vegetables are served in a dark sauce.“
