“Writing down this review because im a picky eater and I keep forgetting what I like. Honey chicken is sweet in sour chicken (deep fried in a tempura batter) tossed in a sweet sauce. I'm not a fan of the bourbon chicken (got it years ago and never tried it again since); the mongolian chicken is stir fried. Orange, sesame, and general tso chicken uses the same chicken base (dark meat chicken with lots of nooks and crannies for the sauce to hold to); orange sauce is sweet and spicy, sesame is not sweet and doesnt rely on sesame oil (which i like), and general tso is not sweet and mostly a spicy chili sauce (either there was a different dish that was sweet and spicy or this dish got less sweet over time). Lo mein is in the takeout containers while chow mein is in a plastic container and is very wet. Mixed vegetables are served in a dark sauce.“

All of the favorable reviews were spot-on. Service was great (only 4 tables occupied at the time I was there). My English “Chicken Soup Hot Bowl, little bit spicy” got me exactly what I wanted except a spoon. I chop-stocked my way through it and drank the broth from a bowl like I was at home!

Great meal, rice noodles were super fresh as was the vegetables and the quail egg was a nice touch.

“This location is mostly geared for take-out. The small building space appeared to be clean and well kept. They have a couple of tables and a few chairs but no one was using them. I see you can pre-order online. We just pulled up and came inside to place our order. It was packaged complete within 10 minutes. The taste and the quality of our dinners was far superior to other Chinese restaurants that I've sampled. After dinner we have plenty of left overs to make another meal. All for a reasonable price. For quick, tasty Chinese food, their version was outstanding.“

“I wished, they used a different type of rice. It seems like they use a yellowish orange unflavored type rice, instead of the traditional Chinese rice from the other Chinese restaurants I order from. Everything else is great though & they have the best Crab Rangoon.“

“WOW... I’ve been all over town trying different Chinese food spots, and this place really impressed me. The food and the service were excellent.

I ordered the honey wings with pork fried rice, and it was so good I actually felt like calling the owner just to congratulate them on the plate! I didn’t because I thought it might be a little weird, but that should tell you how impressed I was.

This meal took me back to New York. FOR REAL.

The food is outstanding. It is a little pricier than some other Chinese spots, but absolutely worth it. The presentation was great too—nice packaging, a clean bag, and even a box of hand wipes. Those little touches were appreciated, but the food was definitely the star of the show.

It had been a while since I last came here, but after this experience, they’ll definitely be seeing me more often.

I can confidently say this is the best Chinese food I’ve had anywhere in Tampa. Not even close.

“Usually eating Take Out is more expensive then cooking at home or getting microwave meals. This place is extremely cheap prices. For $10 you can get 4 Pounds of Shrimp, Beef, Pork Lomain that is 3,000 calories of food!!! You can also get tons of other $10 3,000 calories meals here. From Lomaine, Fried Rice, Beef and Broccoli and more. If I was to go to a regular Restaurant and order 3,000 calories of food it would cost me $40-$80 depending on the level of Restaurant. Great food!!!!!! The shrimp is also very great and seems like it comes locally. The only thing I would like to state is that if you order stuff like Beef and Broccoli with Rice - you will get not only a large amount of Beef Broccoli but massive amount of swollen Rice. The rice is Plain, but you can easily season it with whatever seasoning, soy sauce or ketchup you want. I recommend the Pork or Shrimp Lomaine for $10 the medium. It is enough food for 3 people to eat. The General Tsos Chicken is great, but a little too sweat for me.“

They serve the best Chinese cuisine we have had in this area. Every dish was seasoned with remarkable precision and bursting with flavor. The entire meal was layered in flavor, fresh and deeply satisfying. The stars of the meal for us were the soft shell crab, the dumplings (WOW!), the fried rice and the beef with Chinese broccoli. I finally went to Dragon Express after myself and family had enough of Happi Work another local Chinese food restaurant where the very often rude and smug CSR register attendant dared us to find another restaurant locally that was better than Happy Work, where they often left out entire food selections and additions with no compensation or even an apology. Thanks to their dare and constant rudeness I found Dragon Express. For starters the Owner is great polite and a attentive listener, whether you are on the phone or in person he has never gotten or order wrong or missed out food items. Prices are very reasonable and currently expected. Food is outstanding..... Being I've been all over the world and country I can say the food here is a product of the craftsmen who prepare it. I don't have to convince myself it's good because it is all you have in the University area. it's great as compared to other places visited. I've been there a number of time and it's I great to finally have everything that comes with your ordered meal present upon pickup. The plus is finally having a real portion of barbecue spareribs and general Tso chicken with some kick. Fried rice that isnt steeped in oil and old..... everything is prepared before you get there or after you place your order and the owner whom works the front says thank you for coming as you leave thinking about your return.......BTW Dragon Express and Happi Wok are 3 blocks apart but miles away when it come to food, flavour and service.... “We ordered delivery from Hong Kong a few weeks ago after an exhaustive search for *good* Chinese food. We were really pleasantly surprised at the quality, so we ordered again last night.

This place does not disappoint. We got the Chicken Fried Rice and The Four Seasons, and both dishes were excellent quality. The proteins they use are great quality and you can tell they are using fresh vegetables. They're crisp and perfectly cooked.

You get a lot of food for the price you pay as well. Delivery was on time (a few min early, actually).

This is our new go-to spot for Chinese food. Please keep up the quality, great prices and portions, and friendly service!

“A solid little Chinese restaurant in a strip mall. I am so happy it is around the corner from me. I am actually picky and this one does not disappoint . No MSG in its food which is big for me. Also the chicken chow mein was just right with lots of chicken. Very generous 1 qt portion. The crispy noodles were not greasy. In other words this place knows what it's doing for good Street Fare Chinese. The people are helpful and courteous too. I'll definitely go back for other dishes and I'm sure they'll be just as true to basic Chinese food that I grew up with in New York City . They have a lunch menu as well.“

But it’s hands down, one of those gems with great food, small family owned, everyone is really friendly when I come twice a week and they keep the inside dining room area way cleaner than most Chinese places I’ve been to. I wish they would add more tables and chairs, and maybe start advertising dine-in options because they definitely have the space for it. “This place has been our go to Chinese take out for years. Every time we get tempted to try somewhere else we end up disappointed and comparing it to this gem. For one the prices are fantastic here. And two, the portions are giant and the meat is piled high.. You could feed a few people off of one combo but I damn well always get one just for myself so I get to have leftovers! “After reading mixed reviews I finally gave this place a shot. I am so pleased I did. I ordered to go over the phone. Mr. Frank was sweet and we spoke at length when I arrived. It was my first time and so I got 3 lunch specials. The pineapple shrimp was my favorite. I also got the orange chicken which was excellent and the shrimp lo mein. I asked for the special chili oil on the side and was warned of how hot it was. I did not heed the warning and was shocked later thinking I knew better. Warning the chili sauce is hotter than usual. The lunch specials come with either white/ or fried rice, and a choice of wonton soup (amazing), egg drop soup, or an egg roll. It was a hot day and I thought I would get 1 wonton soup based on other reviews and 2 egg rolls. The wonton soup is delicious and I kicked myself for not getting all 3 with it. All the food was good large shrimp in the pineapple shrimp and smaller ones in the lo mein. Fried rice is basic but I usually scramble a few eggs and add frozen peas/ carrots to all basic takeout fried rice, along with a few packs of soy sauce. I was very pleased so don't let the negative reviews detour you from trying this place. Lunch specials are available from Mon-Sat 11-3 which is nice if you are craving it on the weekend. I can not attest to the delivery since I picked it up myself but I would not hesitate to have them deliver it next time. Prices are reasonable but have gone up a tad based on older menus, but haven't they gone up everywhere?“
