“Writing down this review because im a picky eater and I keep forgetting what I like. Honey chicken is sweet in sour chicken (deep fried in a tempura batter) tossed in a sweet sauce. I'm not a fan of the bourbon chicken (got it years ago and never tried it again since); the mongolian chicken is stir fried. Orange, sesame, and general tso chicken uses the same chicken base (dark meat chicken with lots of nooks and crannies for the sauce to hold to); orange sauce is sweet and spicy, sesame is not sweet and doesnt rely on sesame oil (which i like), and general tso is not sweet and mostly a spicy chili sauce (either there was a different dish that was sweet and spicy or this dish got less sweet over time). Lo mein is in the takeout containers while chow mein is in a plastic container and is very wet. Mixed vegetables are served in a dark sauce.“

All of the favorable reviews were spot-on. Service was great (only 4 tables occupied at the time I was there). My English “Chicken Soup Hot Bowl, little bit spicy” got me exactly what I wanted except a spoon. I chop-stocked my way through it and drank the broth from a bowl like I was at home!

Great meal, rice noodles were super fresh as was the vegetables and the quail egg was a nice touch.

“The food is always great! My favorites are the Beef Hunan and the dumplings. The Beef Hunan is always perfectly spicy, and the dumplings are nice and crispy with a great crunch.

“My family and I decided to try something new for dinner, and we're so glad we chose this Chinese restaurant. We ordered the Sweet & Sour Pork, Mapo Tofu Combo, Spicy Chicken, Spicy Boiled Beef, and a cucumber salad to share. Every dish had its own unique flavors and was prepared really well. The Sweet & Sour Pork had crispy pieces of pork coated in a perfectly balanced sauce that was tangy, sweet, and incredibly satisfying. The Mapo Tofu Combo was rich and comforting, with silky tofu in a savory, spicy sauce that paired wonderfully with the rice. The Spicy Chicken had a crispy texture and bold seasoning with just the right amount of heat that kept us reaching for another bite. The Spicy Boiled Beef was the standout of the meal, featuring incredibly tender slices of beef in a fragrant chili broth packed with deep, authentic flavors. The cucumber salad added a refreshing, crisp contrast that helped balance the richness and spice of the other dishes.

“Shang Hi is a great neighborhood Chinese spot. We ordered the General Tso’s chicken and pork fried rice, and both were delicious. The chicken was tender with the perfect crispy texture, and the pork fried rice was really flavorful, loaded with bean sprouts, and thankfully had no yellow food coloring. The owners were also incredibly nice, which made the whole experience even better. It’s always nice to support a small business with great food and kind people — we’ll definitely be back.“

“We ordered delivery from Hong Kong a few weeks ago after an exhaustive search for *good* Chinese food. We were really pleasantly surprised at the quality, so we ordered again last night.

This place does not disappoint. We got the Chicken Fried Rice and The Four Seasons, and both dishes were excellent quality. The proteins they use are great quality and you can tell they are using fresh vegetables. They're crisp and perfectly cooked.

You get a lot of food for the price you pay as well. Delivery was on time (a few min early, actually).

“A solid little Chinese restaurant in a strip mall. I am so happy it is around the corner from me. I am actually picky and this one does not disappoint . No MSG in its food which is big for me. Also the chicken chow mein was just right with lots of chicken. Very generous 1 qt portion. The crispy noodles were not greasy. In other words this place knows what it's doing for good Street Fare Chinese. The people are helpful and courteous too. I'll definitely go back for other dishes and I'm sure they'll be just as true to basic Chinese food that I grew up with in New York City . They have a lunch menu as well.“

“Listen, does this place look horrible outside? Yes. But it’s hands down, one of those gems with great food, small family owned, everyone is really friendly when I come twice a week and they keep the inside dining room area way cleaner than most Chinese places I’ve been to. Prices are low to average in my opinion a when you tie in the good food, it’s a great deal. I wish they would add more tables and chairs, and maybe start advertising dine-in options because they definitely have the space for it. But for now I’ll stay happy because I get to dine in after work in peace with minimal noise and people 😜“
