9 Best Seafood Restaurants in Jekyll Island

Jekyll Ocean Club Seafood • $$$

“Lovely unassuming hotel from the outside, and it is beautiful and relaxing once inside. Easy parking, great dining, and pool areas. Loved the spacious king suite... would absolutely visit this location again. Using my Amex Gold card benefits, we secured a delicious breakfast each morning from the menu, $100 hotel credit, and a room upgrade. Food took a little long to arrive, but you could see it was freshly prepared each time and delicious. The only area of improvement I would recommend is the shower in the bathroom... the head needs changing abs looked old, and the floor tiles also need refreshing. My husband thinks the tiles were repainted, I'm not sure... but they took away from the overall beautiful room. I am looking forward to seeing that simple upgrade in the future. Lovely location, lovely hotel.Nearby activities: Little tourist shops within walking distance and some other dining options. A gas station with a Dairy Queen attached is also within walking distance but also great for filling your tank before leaving the island. A short drive to mini golf and pizza, and other historical sites around that are easy to drive too. Nice to park the car and use a bicycle.“

“Had a wonderful sunset dinner at Zachry’s. The blackened Mahi was delicious, a large portion and really nicely spiced. Amazing hush puppies. Zachry’s is very casual and cozy. Our server was definitely busy but very friendly. There are stunning sunset views over the marsh. We weren’t willing to wait for an outside table but enjoyed our meal in the “sunroom” area. Prices are reasonable. Will definitely be back!“

“Surprisingly delicious! Arrived expecting another overpriced mediocre meal from the another hotel restaurant. The food was great! I was drawn in by a previous review for the bourbon peach pie, but found out they switch the menu often. At the time of my review, it turns out they only serve brunch and dinner until April. I had the shrimp and grits which comes with andouille sausage, simply delicious! I also had the Georgia peach cobbler, which was amazing. The staff was very polite, helpful, and accommodating. The restaurant had a great layout with seating inside and out, as well as a large seating area of couches for sitting with friends for a before or after dinner cocktail. I recommend everyone stop by and try this place.“

“This place needs a sign! Unless you go in the Jekyll market- you’ll miss it. Chicken tenders were a tad dry- but great flavor. Mac & cheese was a hit for my 3 year old. BBQ sauce was delish & the sweet potato fries were perfection!! Staff were friendly. They were out of the rotisserie chicken- which is was I was hoping food. Overall- would eat here again.“

“Definitely time for an update. We went to the Thanksgiving Feast "experience." $85+gratuity+tax for a total of $105 per person. Was it worth it? Probably not. The quality has gone down a little since 7 years ago, and honestly, how much can you eat in one sitting? However, if you can easily afford it, you should go. They're now open to the public for Sunday buffet, after being shut down by Covid for a couple of years. They had an amazing array of cold and hot choices--from berries and melon, crab legs and shrimp to fried catfish, salmon, prime rib and turkey with gray. Omelets at least until 3, not sure if they still did them for dinner. Sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, squash ravioli, green bean casserole. Lots of other choices I can't remember. The best desert selection you will ever see. The gravy was too thin--that's my worst complaint. And the salmon was overcooked. So not perfect. But with so much variety, it was easy to stuff ourselves with some lovely choices. We'll be going back for the breakfast buffet once a month. Hey, we're not made of money!“

“Wonderful. We ate outside. Yes expensive but it's an experience and we were on vacation. Waiter didn't tell us about no hush puppies but she added extra fries. It was fine but they really need to let the customers know and not pretend we don't know what we ordered. Other than that lil bit. Everything was good including the pickled okra that came with our burger. I bought a jar at the commissary across the street.“

“While vacationing on Jekyll Island recently, we found the few waterfront restaurants with waits of 45 minutes almost every evening of our stay. As an option, we enjoyed both lunch and dinner at Tribuzio's on Capt, Wylie Rd. The food was most excellent (I highly recommend the mac and cheese side dish and any shrimp entree) and the menu prices were quite fair. While you don't have the benefit of an ocean view, the restaurant was clean, the service friendly, and the menu items were both varied and reasonably priced. The restaurant is housed in the clubhouse of one of the golf course (we don't golf), so I think it's easily overlooked. Last year, we were on Jekyll when Hurricane Ian passed near the island, and they were one of the few restaurants that stayed open (I give them extra props for that.) They have daily specials, a fresh catch of the day selection, and cocktail specials as well. Good place to dine!“

“My husband and I have eaten here several times in the past few years. This visit was absolutely very disappointing. The menu has changed. There are very few options to choose from, and the prices have risen. The food was good tasting, and the service was lacking. Our waitress did not ask if we wanted water. When taking our order, she did not ask what side or sauces we wanted for our chicken fingers. When our food was delivered, it came with honey musturd, I asked for BBQ. When our waitress went to get it. Another waitress came by and took our honey mustard, which my husband would have used for his chicken fingers.Needless to say, we will not be back.“
