“Great night, great food, Harrison our waiter, and all his coworkers were exceptional! We had a great seat by the beautiful fireplace, and the beer is fabulous! The Blueberry was my favorite! The potatoe ship skillet, Brussels sprouts, beet hummus and veggies, stuffed pretzel , and Caesar salad were awesome! Can’t wait to go back !”

“Our second trip to GSG was not as pleasant as the first. Our table was plagued with several flies that harassed us our entire meal, I actually dispatched an ant crawling on the table too. Our smoked fish dip appetizer was extremely “fishy” like it was made with mullet or something. It was not good. We each tried one taste and left it alone. The crab stew was great. My triple tail special was great. My daughter’s bacon poached salmon was supposed to be prepared medium, but it was rare…very. So, I wound up trading her a portion of my dinner so she would not have to eat almost raw fish. Overall, I expected much more consistent greatness given the difficulty we have had obtaining a reservation. Disappointed”

“My daughter and I ate lunch here a little over a week ago. The food was Amazing!!! There is a reason for all of the great reviews! It’s a little pricey but you are on SSI so that’s no surprise. The food quality was worth the splurge. I had the large Mediterranean bowl with grilled chicken and my daughter had the small sea salt salad with blackened chicken. I loved my meal and so did she. We paid $46.10 for both meals and two drinks. We left full! I would definitely go back again when I get the chance.”

“Scallops were perfectly prepared and crab soup was delicious. We loved the bread pudding to finish off a great meal. Service started with a warm welcome and a brief introduction to the restaurant since it was a first visit and specialties of the house. Definitely a second visit when we return to St Simon's.”

“Back in July, I had one of the kindest and most heartwarming experiences at this Iguanas . While I was waiting for my food, I suddenly had a low blood sugar episode. As someone with type 1 diabetes, those moments can be really scary because they can sneak up on you out of nowhere. Without hesitation, the waitress noticed what was happening and went completely out of her way to bring me something right away before my meal was ready. She didn’t just stop there she continued to check in on me the entire time I was there, making sure I felt okay and had what I needed. That small act of kindness may not seem like much to some, but to me, it meant absolutely everything. In that moment, she turned what could have been a stressful experience into one filled with comfort and genuine care. It reminded me how much of an impact simple compassion can have on someone’s day. And beyond the incredible service, the food was absolutely delicious! The combination of amazing food and people who truly care makes this place stand out. I would recommend it to anyone in a heartbeat. The world needs more people like her thoughtful, attentive, and full of kindness.”

“I’ve been a regular takeout customer for years - the food and service is always great. I usually order a curry, which they change up/rotate every day. Today when I asked what kind of curry they had, they told me “oh, we serve all of them every day now.” In a time like this when many restaurants are struggling, I thought it was worth highlighting that this place is actually expanding their services and their customers’ options! 👏👏👏”

“I would like to say that I’m on a diet and is a lady named Kim that works over there and she was very helpful to me and choosing what to eat then that I’m on a diet and also what to drink because I don’t need to be eating fatty foods or drinking sugary drinks. She was so helpful as saying taste of drink and if you don’t like it, give it back to me and I’ll make you something else but I told her that I’ll taste it because it was too hot at the present time and moment and I’ll let her know next time I come if I don’t like it I told her I’ll let her choose and make me something that she think that I may or may not like”

“The go to place for fresh seafood. Helpful staff to advise the perfect selection. I had the cooked shelled read to eat shrimp, cocktail sauce, they were delicious. They do not take credit/debit cards.”

“We got there about 20 minutes before closing. Normally I don’t like going to any restaurant unless it is at least 30 minutes before closing but we were starving and there weren’t a lot of choices. The waitress was so friendly, and the service was fantastic. We ordered pizza, wings and some cheese bread. Everything was hot, fresh and delicious. The pizza was excellent. I highly recommend this place if you’re in the mood for pizza. I tipped the waitress 50% for being so great even though we got there so late. I will definitely be back.”

“Had fabulous hamburger and the best onion rings ever. Don't be mislead, they have a menu filled with great choices. The ambiance is very nice, we like sitting at the bar when it's just my wife and me. Decor is lots of dark oak, very country club feel, and even though this is part of the Sea Island Resort, this particular venue is open to the public, as is the adjoining golf shop. Golf is available only ti members and hotel guests. For golf fans, what could be more fun than dining in Davis Love's very own grill?”

“What a wonderful treat dining in The Lodge at Sea Island Oak Room was for my wife and I. We stopped in on a slow post-Thanksgiving weekday evening and were treated to a wonderful delicious dinner. Our server Cericka was excellent. We were seated quickly by the hostess and ordered two Prosecco's. We enjoyed a delicious mini biscuits with bacon butter appetizer. My wife ordered a wonderful 6oz filet with Boursin whipped potatoes, roasted autumn veggies, and scallion steak sauce. I ordered the blackened Redfish with crab fried rice, green gumbo, and pickled Okra. Both entrees were served hot and were delicious. Bon Appetit”

“This dinner was incredible in every way possible. The food was the best I've ever had, hands down. I've seriously never had a better egg roll, and my Sesame Chicken was insanely good. My mom's Cashew Chicken had so much stuff in it, and the fried rice is TOP TIER. Massive chunks of pork, carrots and peas - I know I've already said it, but incredible. Awesome service as well by very kind and attentive servers. This is the only picture I had, because by the time I thought to review we'd already eaten almost everything, and I know this is in a "ocean" tourist area, so people think seafood...but try Fortune House out, you won't be sorry.”

Don't sleep on the season french fries or chicken fingers. It might take a little longer because they are fried food menu items are not the most popular, but it's always hot and fresh and crisp.

Whenever my kids want Larry's ham and cheese, I usually get two because we always end up wanting more and they are great to grab out of the fridge or even for the kids to take them to school.

After waiting 55 minutes we inquired about our order and learned from the hostess there was no “cook” in the kitchen. This became apparent when we noticed only one table in the entire restaurant, both inside and outside, had food on the table. Sadly, the food we did see didn’t look particularly good either. “i don’t know why there is bad reviews. I honestly loved this place. the server was so sweet and kind, my favorite waitress i’ve ever had i loved hers . The food was really really good, everyone at my table didn’t have one complaint about the food. it was so nice and clean and it wasn’t busy at all it was super quiet and relaxed, only one other table in the room that had people. I did not regret and would 100% go again, i know i’ll be craving this in the future.”

Service was average, I had called days in advance to reserve indoor window seating to celebrate our Anniversary. I had planned a whole “thing” I was going to do near the stunning view of the window for the wife. When we arrived they pulled our information and one lady asked us “indoor or outdoor?” The other hostess told her the system said “indoor with window seating” and gave her a look of disappointment. As they walked me to my sitting area it was not window seating and table was wobbly. I was unable to do my whole “thing” I had planned and just started off the evening not on a good start, but drinks made up for it 🤷‍♂️😒”
