“Great night, great food, Harrison our waiter, and all his coworkers were exceptional! We had a great seat by the beautiful fireplace, and the beer is fabulous! The Blueberry was my favorite! The potatoe ship skillet, Brussels sprouts, beet hummus and veggies, stuffed pretzel , and Caesar salad were awesome! Can’t wait to go back !”

“Our second trip to GSG was not as pleasant as the first. Our table was plagued with several flies that harassed us our entire meal, I actually dispatched an ant crawling on the table too. Our smoked fish dip appetizer was extremely “fishy” like it was made with mullet or something. It was not good. We each tried one taste and left it alone. The crab stew was great. My triple tail special was great. My daughter’s bacon poached salmon was supposed to be prepared medium, but it was rare…very. So, I wound up trading her a portion of my dinner so she would not have to eat almost raw fish. Overall, I expected much more consistent greatness given the difficulty we have had obtaining a reservation. Disappointed”

“My daughter and I ate lunch here a little over a week ago. The food was Amazing!!! There is a reason for all of the great reviews! It’s a little pricey but you are on SSI so that’s no surprise. The food quality was worth the splurge. I had the large Mediterranean bowl with grilled chicken and my daughter had the small sea salt salad with blackened chicken. I loved my meal and so did she. We paid $46.10 for both meals and two drinks. We left full! I would definitely go back again when I get the chance.”

“Great food. Get there early. This place gets packed. The red snapper with jalapeno cream sauce was very tasty. It was perfectly cooked. Crispy on the outside and tender in the middle. The crab cakes were really good. Blackened shrimp was the best I had all week. The special was a salmon in a lemon cream sauce. My kid really liked it and it was a really nice portion. The salad and bread was really good. The cinnamon butter that comes with it was awesome. We always visit Crabdaddy's when vacationing in SSI. You can make reservations in advance, too.”

“Low key coffee spot with a bookstore attached. Decent latte (nice and hot!), not pretentious with minimal food offering. The atmosphere was bright, clean and calm. They also offer some outdoor seating under a tree canopy. Nice place, very pleasant.”

“I’ve been a regular takeout customer for years - the food and service is always great. I usually order a curry, which they change up/rotate every day. Today when I asked what kind of curry they had, they told me “oh, we serve all of them every day now.” In a time like this when many restaurants are struggling, I thought it was worth highlighting that this place is actually expanding their services and their customers’ options! 👏👏👏”

“The service was 100% better (at the bar) than Crabdaddys. There is no comparison!! The food is different at both restaurants, but I would go back to Crabtrap if sitting at the bar. The Crab Soup was also100% better at Crabtrap. At least you will be waited on and even acknowledge when sitting at the bar.”

“I would like to say that I’m on a diet and is a lady named Kim that works over there and she was very helpful to me and choosing what to eat then that I’m on a diet and also what to drink because I don’t need to be eating fatty foods or drinking sugary drinks. She was so helpful as saying taste of drink and if you don’t like it, give it back to me and I’ll make you something else but I told her that I’ll taste it because it was too hot at the present time and moment and I’ll let her know next time I come if I don’t like it I told her I’ll let her choose and make me something that she think that I may or may not like”

Everyone from the management to the staff are hard-working, friendly and do a fantastic job. If you give it a try it will be your favorite restaurant. “We got there about 20 minutes before closing. Normally I don’t like going to any restaurant unless it is at least 30 minutes before closing but we were starving and there weren’t a lot of choices. The waitress was so friendly, and the service was fantastic. We ordered pizza, wings and some cheese bread. Everything was hot, fresh and delicious. The pizza was excellent. I highly recommend this place if you’re in the mood for pizza. I tipped the waitress 50% for being so great even though we got there so late. I will definitely be back.”

“We have been going to the island for many years and have never stopped at HDA. What a mistake! My wife and I just wanted a simple meal at a good price. We did not even look at the hours but rolled up at 2:00 pm, their closing time. The ladies were so kind and did not say a word that they were closing. We both got jumbo dogs with the fixings and potato salad. I then noticed the hours and apologized but they were happy to serve us. Food was delicious and we sat on the deck with our lab and watched the world go by. Ladies offered our pup a treat as well. This is now a definite stop for us on the island.”

“We stopped in for lunch today and the food was so good and the staff was so friendly. We were here on vacation and Beachcomber was an absolute favorite on the island. Definitely the nicest staff out of all the places we’ve been to also. The guy with a ninja turtle tattoo especially.”

“My husband and I stopped in for a cocktail. It is a local bar that allows smoking. Met a bunch of great locals. Played pool and had a great time. The bartenders Caleb and Grant were awesome!

The ambiance is very nice, we like sitting at the bar when it's just my wife and me. Decor is lots of dark oak, very country club feel, and even though this is part of the Sea Island Resort, this particular venue is open to the public, as is the adjoining golf shop. Golf is available only ti members and hotel guests. For golf fans, what could be more fun than dining in Davis Love's very own grill?”

“I can't believe it's taking me this long to write a review. Been a fan of sweet mamas for over 10 years. Locally owned business with deep roots in the community. A gathering place of youth groups in the mornings, friend groups at lunch. Pork pops are must. Try the Wainwright. Sweet mamas is known for breakfast treats, but the lunch is excellent. Simple deli sandwiches and soups. I am partial to the BLT with chips.”

“What a wonderful treat dining in The Lodge at Sea Island Oak Room was for my wife and I. We stopped in on a slow post-Thanksgiving weekday evening and were treated to a wonderful delicious dinner. Our server Cericka was excellent. We were seated quickly by the hostess and ordered two Prosecco's. We enjoyed a delicious mini biscuits with bacon butter appetizer. My wife ordered a wonderful 6oz filet with Boursin whipped potatoes, roasted autumn veggies, and scallion steak sauce. I ordered the blackened Redfish with crab fried rice, green gumbo, and pickled Okra. Both entrees were served hot and were delicious. Bon Appetit”

“Over the years, I've frequently enjoyed dining at Colt & Alison and have consistently been impressed. However, my most recent visit left me feeling somewhat let down. The quality of the food lived up to expectations, and so did the prices, with the chateaubriand for two priced at $190, and the wine selection notably superior, particularly for the southeast US. Yet, two aspects of the experience were less than satisfactory for me. Firstly, the atmosphere was excessively formal to the point of discomfort; a call from my wife in Europe requiring a brief, whispered conversation led to an immediate request by the manager for me to end the call. Nobody in the restaurant could hear me. Secondly, a diner next to me was subtly prompted to adhere to a dress code by being provided a jacket, adding to the overly rigid ambiance. The service, while attentive, and deemed by most that review as outstanding, to me, it bordered on intrusive, with frequent check-ins disrupting the flow of conversation. Despite these drawbacks, I'm inclined to return, having a slight hope for a future decrease in the restaurant's rigid formalities, though I suspect this may not change.”

“Was excited to try after reading reviews. Seated quickly and server took drink orders. Then the world stopped. After waiting 55 minutes we inquired about our order and learned from the hostess there was no “cook” in the kitchen. This became apparent when we noticed only one table in the entire restaurant, both inside and outside, had food on the table. Sadly, the food we did see didn’t look particularly good either. Plenty of other dining establishments nearby…do yourself a favor take a pass on this place! 1/17/23”

“For the exception of ruining my Anniversary celebration that I had planned, everything else was okay. The food was good! Drinks were just strong enough and not just watered down! View was stunning! Service was average, I had called days in advance to reserve indoor window seating to celebrate our Anniversary. I had planned a whole “thing” I was going to do near the stunning view of the window for the wife. When we arrived they pulled our information and one lady asked us “indoor or outdoor?” The other hostess told her the system said “indoor with window seating” and gave her a look of disappointment. As they walked me to my sitting area it was not window seating and table was wobbly. I was unable to do my whole “thing” I had planned and just started off the evening not on a good start, but drinks made up for it 🤷‍♂️😒”
