“The food was good. Ordered basics, tamale and quesidilla. Took a while to be satvand service was subpar. Probably would only be back as a call in but even they were waiting around a while. Two servers on a Saturday night. Not a big place but maybe an additional person would help with the delay.“

“One of THE BEST tacos I’ve had here in Hawaii so far. I had both al pastor and Asada. The place is beautiful and the attention from the lady at the front was top notch!
Parking: I did not know, but the stalls on the side of the building are theirs. Also you can park in the front where the cones are, which is also theirs.“

“Good food, friendly customer service, fun ambience. Good place to go, whether you’re by yourself or part of a party. Everyone’s welcome! Not much else to say. It is a small restaurant with a small parking lot, so space fills up quickly, especially on weekends.“

“There and 5+ different Mexican restaraunts in Kailua town and I would drive to Tight Tacos in Kaimuki to get my fix because they are that good. When it comes to authentic Mexican food, a lot of places attempt, but Tight Tacos is one that truly hits the mark and sets the standard in Hawaii.
Bites taste fresh, flavorful, and carefully crafted, from their hand-pressed tortillas to their scratch-made salsas. Their tacos are on another level—perfectly seasoned meats, bold flavors, and just the right balance of texture and freshness. THE COCONUT HORCHATA—absolutely to die for. I had two, and definitely could’ve had more. It’s the perfect refreshment to complement the richness of the tacos.
Beyond the food, the experience itself is what makes Tight Tacos a gem. The staff is welcoming, the vibe is laid-back yet vibrant, and you can tell they take pride in what they do. In a town like Kaimuki, where great food spots thrive, Tight Tacos has become a true cornerstone of the local food scene.
I can’t wait for them to open a new location. Tight Tacos isn’t just good, it’s worth the journey.“

“Now called Javi’s. Food was great! The waitress was super nice and attentive. The food came out fast, hot, and fresh. I wish the queso dip wasn’t over $12, but the other dishes are reasonably priced. BYOB at the moment until they get their liquor license. There’s a market next door that might have alcoholic beverages. There’s parking lot is a little cramped, so massive trucks would be hard to park in there.“

“The Best Mexican Food In town!
I tried different plates and I just can say all of them are fire!
They’ve got the best birria tacos I’ve ever try! I also tasted their tres leches cake, and their horchata, they are really good. If you’re looking for an authentic Mexican food, this is the place!“

“Try it...you'll love it!!! It's not big restaurant, but that's what I loved about it and it gave authentic from the front door! Best Mexican food I've had since I got here. On the back of the menu, it says BYOB and my husband said I'll be back...lol! He went right to the drug store and got a 6 pk. We will definitely back!“

“This place has authentic Mexican flavours! I’ve only tried the Al Pastor and birria burrito, but recommend both. The meats are freshly smoked and delicious. The salsas also have incredible flavour, but are authentic in spice level, so try a small amount first if you’re sensitive. Really glad to have found this place after trying many different mediocre Mexican places on the island. A bit dangerous that it’s just a short walk away, I’ll need more self control.“
“Lahaina Tacos located in Fort Street Mall. Family owned, extremely friendly and welcoming. Went for lunch takeout and got the birria burrito. Burrito was a solid size for the price with fresh ingredients. The wait was about 45 minutes total between waiting to order and waiting for the order. The wait was worth it though. Anticipate the long waits will be the case for a bit since they are brand new and in the middle of town. They did run out of some food so get there early! Can’t wait to return and try everything else.“

“Food was flavorful and nicely proportioned. On the pricier side, to be expected from a fine dining establishment. Quick and helpful service, kind staff. Very nice place to sit and enjoy the surrounding area. Personally, a fan of the horchata.“

“The food oh my God! You want good Mexican food you have to go to Frida's. It was a little disappointing that we did have to sit outside which is along farrington highway. at least we were able to stay rather than having to do takeout. it was a nice experience. The spices in the horchata was not overpowering and very well balanced and not too sweet. The enchiladas were a perfect portion as well as the pico de Gallo!! They were generous with the pico unlike other places. The chips and salsa are homemade and the salsa is the perfect heat level. I'm not a burrito person so I can't say anything about that but what I have tried I enjoyed.“

“Right on the water on the wharf....elegant evening space and so beautiful for just chilling and eating out. Food is amazing - so juicy, tender, spicy enough, flavorful and great variation. It is a Mexican street food concept!Rice was so fluffy and beans tasty! Family loved it....even the kids bc they have CHEESE QUESADILLAS ?
Kid-friendliness: Lots of space to run around....so much easier than eating at a restaurant. Bring extra plates and napkins for family style tasting of all the trucks.“

“Had the Adobada MexiBowl and it was so delicious! Everything is seasoned well - the Red rice and the beans are nicely spiced, the pork had great flavor and Char, and everything just complimented each other so nicely! And I was able to get it without cilantro (yay!). I will be back! This food truck is YUMMY!“

“Best tasting Mexican food I’ve been able to find in Honolulu since I moved here from SoCal!!!“
“This is a whole food supermarket stocking organic, vegan, vegetarian and healthy alternative brands. We were attracted to the ready to eat meal section which had massive choice in salads, proteins and cuisines. As a tourist it’s great for a healthy cheap meal when you’ve had enough of restaurant food but can’t cook your own. You can eat at outdoor seating. Utensils are provided. I would love to see them off different bins for compostables, recycling and rubbish.“

“Moe's Southwest Grill at the food court main PX Schofield Barracks was Awesome. The Steak Stack and Steak Quesadillas were Outstanding. The cooking area was well cleaned and kept organized by the staff and they were very Aloha friendly. The prices were comparative to the local economy. Extra Guacamole is a small additional cost. I Very much recommend this establishment for a quick, delicious meal. Mahalo aaand ALOHA!!!“

“We ate here for dinner on a Saturday. There was plenty of seating. The drinks were good, and the food was delicious.
We ordered the margarita flight which was a really good deal I thought. For like 10 bucks you get three margarita flavors to try and they were all really good.
The salsas were really good. They have a good spicy one if you're into spicy salsa. The green salsa was pretty good too. We ordered the chorizo queso and no one at the table was really a fan of it. It was very salty and lacked actual flavor. The guacamole though was super fresh, and super tasty. I ordered chicken fajitas as an entree and they were super good! Good flavor lots of food. I couldn't eat it all I had to take some home. My friends ordered burritos and said they were good burritos but didn't have much meat in them. We ordered tamales to go and let me just say, they are so good! They're big and full of meat and have great flavor! All in all a great restaurant, I think it's one of the better tasting Mexican restaurants on island.“

“The place is shared as a coffee shop in the morning, and by 11am it's a taqueria. I was confused at first as I wasn't sure if this was the right place. There's free parking in the back but limited spots. The birria taco shell is more on the crunchy side. So if you like crunchy or crisp, this type of texture is the place for you. The crunchy shell was still able to absorb the consomme. The beef was tender, and the cheese was melted at the bottom. Nonetheless, it was very tasty.“
