“This is my go-to spot after I get my hair cut at nearby Major League barber shop. The food, service, and atmosphere are all top-notch. I've had the pollo asada and the chorizo & egg tacos, both with rice and beans. 🤤 This is a Veteran/family owned business that takes their food creations and customer relations seriously. It is also SoCal Mex based flavor-wise and takes me back to the neighborhood taco shops in L.A. and San Diego. I look forward to eventually trying everything on the menu.“

“Stopped for an early lunch on a Thursday. Very fortunate that there was parking, because after we pulled in the two other spots filled up instantly. Not to knock the service at this location, but I believe future orders will be take-out. Besides, when you eat at home you can just let the food coma knock you out, as opposed to fighting it on the drive home from the restaurant.
We started with the guacamole and chips. It seemed a little unusual that it was served in a take out bowl, but upon reflection this makes perfect sense. We didn't finish it, and it easily packed up to go with us. Also, it was a nice chunky style that we liked very much.
I ordered the 3 carne asada (steak) street tacos. Awesome.
My wife ordered the carnitas (pork) Barrio burrito. Going to order this the next time.
My mother-in-law and grandmother both had shrimp Barrio burritos. They didn't share.
Everyone raved about the food. Service was top notch, with the waitress stopping by often to check our water, quality of food. When we finished up we also ordered some things to go.
Now, about the big mural on the wall (seen in other reviews):
India Maria ????? Selena
Cantiflas Maria Felix ?????
The waitress told me the name of the person on the far right side, but I must have written it down incorrectly. Not a big problem, we'll most likely be back soon.“

“Good food, friendly customer service, fun ambience. Good place to go, whether you’re by yourself or part of a party. Everyone’s welcome! Not much else to say. It is a small restaurant with a small parking lot, so space fills up quickly, especially on weekends.“

“The best tacos that I have been able to find in Oahu. The only downside is it is hard to park there. But definitely worth it. This is a hidden treasure. Had the carne asada tacos and habenero salsa, so very good. Absolute must go if looking for a good and reasonably priced place to get tacos.“

“Now called Javi’s. Food was great! The waitress was super nice and attentive. The food came out fast, hot, and fresh. I wish the queso dip wasn’t over $12, but the other dishes are reasonably priced. BYOB at the moment until they get their liquor license. There’s a market next door that might have alcoholic beverages. There’s parking lot is a little cramped, so massive trucks would be hard to park in there.“

“A Hidden Gem for Authentic Mexican Tacos!
This small spot may have limited seating, but it more than makes up for it with friendly service and incredibly flavorful tacos. Whether you’re into carnitas, al pastor, chicken, or the vegetarian rajas, every option is worth trying (seriously—try them all!). Taco Tuesday gets pretty busy, and for good reason. It’s a must-visit whether you’re dining in or grabbing food to go. They also serve soft drinks along with classic Mexican beverages like horchata and hibiscus water (Jamaica). Highly recommended!“

“I had to give a shoutout to this food truck because that wet burrito absolutely slapped. I actually been here more than a hand full of times now. I love trying new dishes here. The tacos amazing as well! The food is packed with super flavorful, tender meat and fresh veggies, and topped off with the sauce that brought it all together. Every bite was legit fire.
The orange truck is hard to miss, and once you try the food, you’ll be glad you didn’t. You can tell they put real love into what they’re making. Friendly people, good vibes, and food that hits the spot—definitely a go-to. Don’t sleep on it. A great place with a good story! Talk to Gordo himself and Gabe 🤙🏽
My photo skills do not do justice go tryyyy“

“Please Note: This review was written in 2022 and posted at Fridas Hawaii in Ewa by mistake. My apologies.
It's a small little Mexican restaurant in Waipahu. Staff is very friendly. Food tastes really delicious. This is my third time coming to this restaurant.
Their shrimp enchiladas were very tasty. It came with rice and beans. Portion size was a little small for what you pay for.
My wife ordered the tostadas with hamburger, and it wasn't to my liking. Their hamburger mixture has peas in it in which I felt didn't match.
The Birria tacos is amazing! This was the first time I've ever tried this. These tacos are very cilantro forward. If you're like me, where cilantro tastes like soap, I can tell you that these are delicious and don't taste like soap. The portion was small, in my opinion. I just wanted more!
Esquites, which is their street corn, is very tasty, very creamy.
The street tacos are very tiny. You can gobble them up in 1-2 bites.
Fried ice cream is okay. Portion size is good for 2-3 to share.
The banana loca is just amazing! I highly recommend this. It was just warm and flavorful, with a scoop of ice cream on top. It was perfect for my wife and I to share.
Overall, I will be coming back here for more. On all visits, we spend an average of +$70 for two of us. Food is really tasty. Just portion size could be better.“

“Had the Adobada MexiBowl and it was so delicious! Everything is seasoned well - the Red rice and the beans are nicely spiced, the pork had great flavor and Char, and everything just complimented each other so nicely! And I was able to get it without cilantro (yay!). I will be back! This food truck is YUMMY!“

“I was craving some tacos and this place did not disappoint. The amount of meat loaded in each taco was insane and the quality of meat was amazing as well. The salsa had wonderful flavor and a nice kick to it. We ordered a couple of each type of meat (asada, chicken, al pastor). I wish I had a refreshing agua de horchata to go with it. Nonetheless, the tacos were still delicious and I recommend this place.“

“We had Birria tacos which were phenomenal. Consume was a little on the salty side, but still delicious. My brother had some BBQ place that came with so much food for $30. The price of my meal was around $27, so expect to pay some money if you are coming. Totally worth it though. This is not just LA Pina Cantina, it is mixed with various food options under one roof. The Gelato place was good as well! Good Food, good service (from LA Pina Cantina) and atmosphere was relaxed“

“This is a hidden gem on one of the busiest streets in downtown Honolulu. The staff was super helpful and friendly. The food was amazing. Took my college basketball team there after a game. It was a great experience. Try the Kalbi beef burrito. Sweet chili sauce added finishing touches to a great burrito.\nPrices were reasonable $15-$20 for burritos and they were big. Bowls, tacos, and quesadillas also on the menu.“

“Highly recommended food truck.
No fancy gimmicks it’s all about the food.
One of the best tacos in town, authentic flavors. Home made Salas, sauces and a lot of variety of sources as well. Amazing flavors.
One man show making the tacos.
I would recommend some small barrels or stand up tables to accommodate more customers.“

“I placed my order by phone for pick up. The place looked very inviting and festive. If I was to dine in it looked like it would have been nice.
I got the chicken enchilada plate with beans and rice. It came with a bag of chips and salsa.
I thought the enchiladas were good but was a little disappointed with the refried beans. I could be wrong but it almost had the same consistency of a canned refried beans. The rice was a little too dry and I had to add a little salt to the salsa.
But for being on the island, I think it was pretty good. I did feel like it was a little pricey for 2 enchiladas with a little rice and beans though. The service was fast and nice.
I would definitely recommend you try them out.“

“The place is shared as a coffee shop in the morning, and by 11am it's a taqueria. I was confused at first as I wasn't sure if this was the right place. There's free parking in the back but limited spots. The birria taco shell is more on the crunchy side. So if you like crunchy or crisp, this type of texture is the place for you. The crunchy shell was still able to absorb the consomme. The beef was tender, and the cheese was melted at the bottom. Nonetheless, it was very tasty.“
