“So good! Driving up to the North Shore from the airport we wanted something local. Family owned. No frills just awesome chicken. So juicy. We all had sandwiches and the pulled chicken is more like chunks with some pulled. Not overly shredded. And not doused with sauce. Just a nice enhancement. We had the melts and they were delicious. The bread is crusty but soft inside. An easy bite. And my son loved his Cajun fries. Off street parking in the rear.“

“The Loco Moco with conrbeef Hash is champ! The gravy hits and doesnt get tiring. The portions are huge for the price they charge. The different flavors of pancakes changes up the flavor profile. We were served the wrong pancakes, the server corrected our order, apologized and let us keep the extra pancakes. It can get very crowded inside, plus the parking is really small. Plan accordingly, park at nearby parking areas and walk up if the parking here is full. This is a must visit breakfast spot when in Oahu!“

“I've never had shabushabu before and it was amazing! So many choices of everything! It's buffet and ridiculously delicious. So much food and so healthy too. Good idea to go for lunch because it's cheaper than dinner. And they were so kind to let me and my friend sit as long as we wanted. The service was wonder. I will definitely be back!“

“Listen, I don’t know who at Del-cious Burgers came up with the OG Burger with wasabi sauce, but that person deserves a medal… or at least free burgers for life.

I didn’t even find this masterpiece my first week there—tragic, I know. But once I did, it was game over. That first bite hit like a flavor roundhouse to the jaw: juicy beef, perfect bun, and that wasabi sauce sneaking in like a spicy ninja just to wake up your soul.

Now it’s basically part of my weekly routine—Monday, Wednesday, Friday = OG Burger Day. My coworkers know not to bother me during OG time. If you see me there, I’m not ignoring you; I’m just in deep, greasy meditation.

“We have been coming to Kalbi On Fire ever since they opened in 2013. Every time/year we are in Hawaii for our winter warming, we drive up for their lunch plate!!“

He recommended 2 places, (I won't say the other one on this review, but it was also excellent!) He brought us to Coral Kingdom for the Huli Huli Chicken. It was so flavorful, juicy and delicious! While it’s not a full sit-down restaurant, there’s a small table with three chairs where you can wait comfortably for your order. And the free street parking makes stopping by so easy. “Had their beef stew with noodles that were suggested by another reviewer and can say that it is just as good as they say, I personally dont like tendon so I didn't eat that however the brisket was tender. Soup base wasnt heavy or overly salted. We were seated immediately on a Sunday at noon. My buddy also got their fish curry over rice and the portions were big. Highly recommend.“

“We found this place on another online platform after going to the Dole Plantation. It is located in a strip mall that looks old and run down so we were skeptical. We located the restaurant in the corner of the lot (next to the Goodwill). We sent a scout in take a look prior lol. The scout gave us the all clear so we entered the restaurant, which was clean and had open tables. We were greeted by a nice man who took the time to get to know us and give us some island history. Ok to the food: There were 4 of us. Each ordered a different entree. 1. Spam hand roll and a tempura hand roll - deliciousness 2. Energy roll- this tasted very fresh and was a roll with eel and avocado on top with eel sauce- deliciousness 3. Ahi poke bento box- came out looking just like the picture on the menu( how many times does that happen!) lots of fresh fish and rolls- deliciousness 4. Tempura shrimp bowl with spicy sauce on top. Tempura shrimp Packed in a bowl on a bed of rice. - deliciousness 5. Spicy ahi poke bowl- came out with tons of fresh ahi covered in spicy mayo and sriracha sauce. - delicious if you like spicy fresh fish. This mom and pop shop deserves your business. The food (all of it) tasted fresh and made with care. I would not write it if it wasn’t true. They will serve you a complimentary miso soup to start ( no spoons here, sip out of cup!) All in all great grub. We will be back!“

“The Great Wall Chinese Restaurant was an unexpected find. We try to find non-touristy and local restaurants. It’s about 35 minutes from Honolulu. Annika (sp?) was a wonderful server. She answered all our questions, gave perfect suggestions and was very attentive. The food was delicious and had leftovers (we ordered a lot). We had crab rangoons & the soft won tons as appetizers. Pat ordered the General Tso’s Chicken Plate and half Roasted Duck, which he LOVED. I ordered the Pepper Garlic Pork Chop (DELICIOUS!!) and Hawaiian Fried Rice. I asked for sau-sau-an (sp? a type of Filipino vinegar garlic dipping sauce), which added to the taste of the pork. The Ube Ice Cream was a delicious surprise. The reason for the 4 stars for food is because the fried rice was a little overcooked. If we were staying longer, we would go to it a few more times. If you get a chance to go, you won’t be sorry.“

“My husband and I tried this place for a quick lunch. I had the shrimp tacos gobernador and he had the chicken enchiladas. The shrimp tacos were really yummy but extremely oily. I had to line my plate with extra napkins and put the tacos on top to soak up all the oil. They need to fix that because they are really delicious minus the grease fest. My husband said the chicken enchiladas were good.“
