“So good! Driving up to the North Shore from the airport we wanted something local. Family owned. No frills just awesome chicken. So juicy. We all had sandwiches and the pulled chicken is more like chunks with some pulled. Not overly shredded. And not doused with sauce. Just a nice enhancement. We had the melts and they were delicious. The bread is crusty but soft inside. An easy bite. And my son loved his Cajun fries. Off street parking in the rear.“

“Update: I've been coming since this place was created as an offshoot of el palenque. I like showing support to businesses I like so off and on when I'm on island I stop here. The menu is quite expensive and has a lot of variety for those on any craving within the Mexican genre. Recently I've done two orders of burritos and one order of fries with a drink. I never had a coffee from here so when I had to work one morning I thought to give it a shot. Despite the name and me thinking it was horchata with hints of coffee it was quite coffee forward with hints of horchata which was regardless quite good. The burritos were a 2 for one chorizo egg burrito and a Cali burrito. The burritos in general were somewhat smaller than they originally were when they started which were smaller than what I'm used to from other places even palenque depending on what burrito you order. Taste as always though is still exceptional and filling is not chimped out. As for the fries this was ginormous even compared to palenque with the same cheeses and seasonings as there while also having solid salsas to boot. Everything was perfect on that and loved every second of it. Overall if the burritos were bigger for the price it's an easy 5 but regardless a solid place I'll always support.

Love everything the el palenque fam come up with and barrio café continues to remind me of being in la again. Would toss a 5 but from what I ate the portions can be smaller than I hoped compared to their other place down the road. Love the food though.“

“Kilani Bakery is the ABSOLUTE BEST bakery in Hawaii!! Kilani Bakery has the most delicious brownies ever!! Those brownies are so incredibly delicious that they give you options to choose from! The butter rolls are phenomenal!! ANYTHING that has their incredible chocolate frosting on it is a WINNER!! Truthfully? You cannot go wrong with whatever you buy at this bakery❣️“

“The Loco Moco with conrbeef Hash is champ! The gravy hits and doesnt get tiring. The portions are huge for the price they charge. The different flavors of pancakes changes up the flavor profile. We were served the wrong pancakes, the server corrected our order, apologized and let us keep the extra pancakes. It can get very crowded inside, plus the parking is really small. Plan accordingly, park at nearby parking areas and walk up if the parking here is full. This is a must visit breakfast spot when in Oahu!“

“We have been coming to Kalbi On Fire ever since they opened in 2013. Every time/year we are in Hawaii for our winter warming, we drive up for their lunch plate!!“

“Listen, I don’t know who at Del-cious Burgers came up with the OG Burger with wasabi sauce, but that person deserves a medal… or at least free burgers for life.

I didn’t even find this masterpiece my first week there—tragic, I know. But once I did, it was game over. That first bite hit like a flavor roundhouse to the jaw: juicy beef, perfect bun, and that wasabi sauce sneaking in like a spicy ninja just to wake up your soul.

Now it’s basically part of my weekly routine—Monday, Wednesday, Friday = OG Burger Day. My coworkers know not to bother me during OG time. If you see me there, I’m not ignoring you; I’m just in deep, greasy meditation.

“In the past, I would only order the noodle trays or plates for pot luck. Recently, I started buying their plate lunches, and suddenly realized what I’ve been missing. I ordered their fish and chips and chicken katsu. Both came with ultra generous servings and I believe the fish and chips was THE Best I’ve ever tasted. I served 30 years in the Army and 22 years as a civilian for the Marine Corps….. and have travelled all over the United States and a good portion of other countries, and I swear the Mililani Restaurant’s fish and chips IS the very Best I’ve ever eaten. Absolutely awesome!!!! If you’ve never tried their food you really need to go!!!“

The server appeared to be handling the dining room on her own and did an impressive job keeping up with everyone. “I had such a great experience at 2 Mom Kitchen! The meat jun was tender, & flavorful, and the bibimbap was fresh, & colorful. The lady at the counter welcomed me with such kindness. “The Great Wall Chinese Restaurant was an unexpected find. We try to find non-touristy and local restaurants. It’s about 35 minutes from Honolulu. Annika (sp?) was a wonderful server. She answered all our questions, gave perfect suggestions and was very attentive. The food was delicious and had leftovers (we ordered a lot). We had crab rangoons & the soft won tons as appetizers. Pat ordered the General Tso’s Chicken Plate and half Roasted Duck, which he LOVED. I ordered the Pepper Garlic Pork Chop (DELICIOUS!!) and Hawaiian Fried Rice. I asked for sau-sau-an (sp? a type of Filipino vinegar garlic dipping sauce), which added to the taste of the pork. The Ube Ice Cream was a delicious surprise. The reason for the 4 stars for food is because the fried rice was a little overcooked. If we were staying longer, we would go to it a few more times. If you get a chance to go, you won’t be sorry.“
