“Tourist coming into town to explore the island. Locals welcomed us and showed us THE Hawaiian hospitality. We loved it and canceled our uber and dinner plans! If you want to have the authentic small Hawaiian town vibe this is the place to go!“

“It was our first time dining here, and Jace was our server.
He kindly went over the menu with us. Everything we ordered was perfectly seasoned, and portions were a nice size. Lively atmosphere but not overly loud. We sat towards the back of the restaurant. The restroom was clean and tidy. The staff were welcoming and attentive. We will definitely be back.“

“I thought I had made a comment but I don't see it here first I'd like to say the food was fabulous there was no problems with that. I had stopped a busboy and asked him for some more butter for our bread he took a few steps forward first then step back and said well I need a plate you have to take that butter off that plate because we don't have any more plates. I did take the butter off the plate and had it to him he brought it back and he just dropped it on the table it was incredibly rude nobody really said anything until a little bit later in the meal and then it was brought up about how rude he was. This was the night before mother's Day so it was my mother's day because I had to work on mother's Day everything was great except for that experience with that busboy I'm very sad to say that really left a bad taste in our mouth.“

“We went for lunch on my wife's birthday. It was wide open with no crowds. Food was excellent. Wait staff was great. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. They gave my wife a complimentary dessert for her birthday. She choose the Lychee sorbet which was so good.“

The ambience was nice moderate noise, TV with sports on and a bar! Need I say more?!
Was a fun environment! It's a hole in a wall but lovely and a charming place! Met the owners behind the bar, they were very friendly and service was prompt ! They were so nice that they discounted us because we are new locals of Hawaii!

Food was nothing short of amazing and prices were decent and affordable!

Garlic cream shrimp scampi with mushrooms! 10/10 Definitely yummy ! I crave it! Perfectly cooked noodles, noodles to sauce ratio was on point! Sauce was so delicious you can taste the garlic perfectly cut with the cream!!! Nice big portion for 2 people !

Prosciutto pizza - 10/10 thin crust, lots of prosciutto! super ono !!!

Oysters - 10/10
were amazing and super fresh!

Tiramisu - 10/10 one of the best tiramisu on the island!

Alcohol drinks were strong and affordable 10/10

“My chicken fettuccine was good, tasted like it should be.
Expect smaller portions as they kept the prices lower. Just keep asking for more bread.
Service is great and very friendly. This is an old area so don't expect it to be fancy.“

“IL TAPPO Hawaii was total surprise! Everything we ordered from the caprese salad, bruschetta, with tomato basil and garlic, pesto ala penne with chicken, the lasagna, the pizza with capacola, the wine recommended was amazing. We finished with the perfect size of tiramisu and a shot of amazingly chilled limoncello. This was a perfect meal start to finish. This place is a must go to if you visit here. They asked me if I had a food allergy, and I made a reservation because I was afraid there would be no room, but they asked if it was my honeymoon and I said yes. We each ordered food and the wait was a bit long, but it wasn't boring because there was an aquarium and a good atmosphere. After some time had passed, we were given tiramisu and sulted caramel gelato to celebrate our honeymoon. It was great that the staff paid attention and didn't feel too burdensome.“

“Assaggio is our favorite resturaunt in Waikiki.We have been coming from California for over 10 years and this is by far the best compared to all , even the high end like Halekulani and the Royal Hawaiian. It is the total package. Call for reservation and David pleasantly takes our request .He also serves as the host when we arrive and seats us where we request. We always request Danny as our server because he is spot on as the best. Greets us with a smile and pleasantry and gives us first class service from beginning to end. “Walking past, there's a good chance you won't even notice it. There's a row of 3-4 shops in one building. Upon entering, you realize just how small it really is. The lady behind the counter was super friendly and patient, this was the first time for me to visit this place. I honestly couldn't decide, there were so much to choose from. I ended up ordering the Hawaiian calzone and the combination calzone. I was not disappointed at all. They were delicious. I quickly realized however that I should have ordered just 1. They were both quite full. I'll be sure to go back there on my next trip to Hawaii.“

“Lunch with the ladies and had a great time! Egg plant parmigiana, create your own pasta, tour of Italy, shrimp scampi dishes we're all enjoyed. Couple of us had the Tuscano soup which wasn't as creamy as I thought it would be but still tasty. We tried the strawberry cream cake, strawberry cheesecake and tiramisu.. all yummy! Service was great and I had requested a table off to side because we can get a little loud and they fulfilled that for us. Thank you, we had a wonderful time! Good food, fun and awesome friends!“

“This is a great spot for a good meal, especially if you're going to or coming back from any of the nearby hikes (Makapuu lighthouse/Hanauma Bay). “Located on King Street, this is my absolute favorite Happy Hour bar/restaurant in Honolulu! Friendly staff, waitresses that provide generous sake shots, and they attentive to all of their guests. I recommend their steak with mashed potatoes, which is served with three dipping sauces. The Japanese omurice is an omelet over rice with a savory brown gravy. My sister loves the cheese fondue with slices of garlic bread(non happy hour). The tofu bitter melon is a unique dish.“

“I am not kidding when I say this is one of the most fresh and flavorful pizzas I have ever had in my travels. My friend and I came here multiple times. You can customize everything about the pizza, from toppings to crust thickness. It's a small and quiet spot, no music playing, just perfect. The pizza isn't drenched in oil, the crust is super crispy, and the ingredients taste fresh as can be. Now I must return to the mainland with a La Pizza Rina shaped hole in my heart...“

We can almost always find what we are looking for including gifts from local artists and made quite a few friends with some of the vendors. There is something for everyone. Also I recently became a vendor myself.“

“So I was actually on my way to go to a different place to eat down the street and the café looks so inviting that my wife and I decided to stop in. We ate here. I had the churro waffles and she had the steak omelette service was great. The only thing I did not love was that you have to stand at the host desk and put order in and then get seated versus sitting down to put your order in other than that, the views are great. The sliding doors that surround the restaurant were open to get the full view of the scenery.“

“My family and I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The food was delicious, and the customer service was exceptional!! We visited on a Sat night and in spite of them being so busy, Jake, I believe that was his name (I'm horrible with names), was so attentive and kind. We definitely recommend it and will definitely be coming back during our next trip from California.“
