“We have lived in Kāneʻohe for more than 15 years, and throughout that time, we have wished for a local restaurant with great food, a pleasant atmosphere, and affordable prices. With Munga, I finally feel that we have found it.

To be honest, I am often skeptical of pan-Asian restaurants because trying to cover several cuisines can sometimes result in mediocre food across the board. What is so surprising about Munga is that they genuinely seem to pull it off. Their sushi is very good, their Thai dishes are excellent, and we have also really enjoyed their Chinese dishes.

If you have not been yet, I strongly recommend giving Munga a try. I am really rooting for this restaurant to succeed so that we can continue to count on having a delicious, affordable, and welcoming option close to home—without having to drive all the way into town.“

“Online order was great, printed labels on each container is one good idea. It was buddy but good was hot and fresh. With the first time using the app to order, there was a $10 discount making our meal less than $10 per person. The staff was working hard being busy, but someone was designated to fill online order so I didn't wait long.“

“Very small place with only 6 small tables and we got so lucky to get one of the tables for 4 people. The staff was friendly, fast and efficient. We had between all of us: Beef Pho, Summer rolls, Spring rolls and bbq chicken vermicelli. The food was amazing! And best tasting Pho broth ever!“

“I came here last night with my husband. We had a very short wait and great service once inside. You order on your phone but our server was happy to help us with ordering or providing recommendations. We had the Hurricane Roll and the Baked Dynamite. Both rolls were delicious! We are only here for a short time and may come back to visit again!! When we told our server we were on our honeymoon we were surprised with a yummy dessert! Great spot for sushi!“

“We finally tried Ten Seconds Yunnan Rice Noodles at Pearlridge Mall, and OMG… the original pork bone soup was SO good! 🤤 The broth was flavorful and comforting, definitely one of my favorites.

We also ordered the mixed rice noodles with pig cutlet and pig’s ear, and everything was really good. We also got some dim sum on the side and honestly, we loved everything we ordered!

The place was clean, the service was awesome, and everyone was so friendly and lovely. They were very welcoming, which made the whole experience even better.

This was definitely a pleasant surprise. I didn’t really know what to expect going in, but we ended up enjoying everything. If you like noodles, flavorful soups, and trying something a little different, definitely give this place a try!

“Let’s talk about the food. Probably the most affordable plate lunch for the money. I wanted eggs so I got the shrimp, pork adobo and Longanisa with 2 Sunnyside eggs made with great skill. I believe the previous owner was Japanese and dish sushi and bentos. The two new ladies aren’t doing sushi or bentos. They should work on their bento game because they have great Entrees for their bentos. Yet I understand they are Filipino and aren’t bento oriented. But they could learn to make bentos.
As for the taste I forgot how Adobo and eggs make the ultimate breakfast and helped me recall eating adobo and eggs growing up with my grandma and grandpa in Kalihi. Their style is not wet or dry but with a thicker sauce. Yet the best thing about this place is THE PRICES AND THE VALUE.
My suggestions is they make better bentos and possibly add pancetta their menu and bentos.

“I initially walked to Bishop Square for a different café, but I couldn’t help but notice the delicious smell of Vietnamese food coming from Teapresso! I ordered the BBQ lemongrass chicken Banh Mi & Thai tea and both were delicious!

I have sensitive teeth and so banh mis are always a toss up for me, but their bread had a nice thin crispy layer on the outside and soft on the inside. Super good!

There’s outdoor public seating within Bishop Square that you can sit and enjoy. Easy and convenient location if you work/live in downtown.“

“Amazing and affordable food, big portions. You see what you buy. Best food we had in Hawaii so far. It's usually warm but they can also put it in a microwave. You also get a free water with a bento box. No place to seat might be the only disadvantage. Recommended!“

“I ate here on my recent trip to Kona. I was happy to find the same menu items that I’m used to on the mainland. The quality and taste of the food were also in line with what I’m used to at home. This place seems like a good value for money compared to some other places I ate at in Kona. I didn’t get a fortune cookie with my meal though, which I’m used to getting at home. Not a big deal, but I noticed.“

“For the amount of food, cost is worth it. Got mini plates with two sides. Both the bbq chicken and chicken katsu plate taste like going to any yummys in hawaii.

Service was pretty bad. One of the empty plates fell onto the ground. The guy picked it up and was about to put the sides in it. Luckily his coworker scolded him and he grabbed another, clean plate on the counter. A different time, the server seemed lost while putting sides in the plate and grabbing another plate. It was a weird situation.“
