“Really good spot in Kapolei. My friend and I were able to get seated right away. The happy hour was also going at the time and we had the garlic fries and fried mushrooms with some light beer. It was really good. For the entree I had the Fried Noods which was really yakisoba but it was good as well.“
“This is our favorite place to get lumpia. My kids and I actually did a taste test comparison with 2 other lumpia places, and Alyssandra's came out on top! What makes it our favorite? The crispy wrapping (it's very flakey) and the pork filling is the tastiest and has the best texture. It's so cheap too, at $1.50 per piece! Located in the Pearl Kai shopping center, parking is super easy, with lots of stalls directly in front. Buy individually for a snack, or buy per "order" with comes with 6 pieces in each order. They only have 3 lumpia options: pork, banana and vegetable (which is pork and veggies, NOT vegetarian). Pork is our fave!“
“This is a very common restaurant for Filipinos and we know why. The spicy chicken sandwich is tame in terms of spice. You can't go wrong with that one if you like just a little spicy. The fried chicken though is where it is at. The spicy fried chicken is the spiciest fried chicken we've had at any chicken place and we love it. Every bite has legit spice to it. Spaghetti and mashed potatoes are fairly generic, but still good. The spaghetti is on the sweeter side though if you haven't had sweet spaghetti and of course, has hot dogs in it. The pineapple drink was delicious and well worth the extra for an upcharge. The staff were very friendly and the restaurant was clean. It's surprising it has such low ratings given how wonderful our experience was. The prices were comparable to other fried chicken joints too. I'd go back!“
“Food is exceptional. Showed up as a picky eater. No fish. Food here is so damn good I've started eating new foods and have been at this sushi spot well over 50 times in the past 4 yearsGo to's are-Calvin's choice-SOS-Red Dragon-Spicy AhiBut holy S#!T the food here is fire a must whether tourist or live here best damn sushi on the island, always playing fire kpop music going goblin mode and great vibes. This place is a MUST puts dorakus to shame plus, fraction of the price. Get you some good a$$ sushi and stop by.“
“Decided to try this place after reading the reviews. Two of us went on a Saturday around 1pm. We were the only party there, then another table of three arrived.Location: Waipahu. Don't know the name of the mall. This is the location of the former Thai Kitchen between what used to be the Chinese restaurant and the laundromat. Nearby there is Pacific Market.Parking: There is parking in that area. Hey now this is too funny! If you look at other yelp photos of the parking, even from a year ago - you'll see the same gray SUV parked in front of the restaurant license plate number NVD.....I just thought that was hilarious. What to expect: Friendly staff. They accept cash and cards. No liquor so BYOBottle. Any takeout container (for leftovers) costs $1 each. Eat all your food, or bring your own container.Atmosphere: It is a small place, with about 10-12 tables. Friendly staff. I didn't ask about a bathroom so unsure about that.Service: Friendly! Food: Nice menu. There are three banchans. I don't know if the variety changes daily. There was bean sprouts, radish, and kim chee. Would have been nice to have a green one too. We ordered the meat jun and BBQ chicken combo, stone pot bibimbap, seafood pancakes.Verdict: BBQ Chicken was excellent. Meat Jun was tasty but could've had more meat. Way too thin. We have a favorite Meat Jun spot in Aiea which sets the bar. This place did not meet that standard. If you're reading this you know the spot in Aiea.Seafood pancake was very good, though I like when they're served how I normally see it at other places, and not in little round pieces. Stone Pot Bibimbap. Now I was looking forward to this. The rice did not crisp because maybe I turned it too soon?? IDK. Also, there was something missing. Not enough sesame flavor?? Not excellente, missing the umami. We have our favorite Stone Pot bibimbap place in Ewa Beach. This place missed it by a couple marks. Price: We thought the price was comparable to other places. With the tip, our bill was around $60. Will I be returning?? Definitely, to try a few other items on the menu. Though the meat Jun and bibimbap did not meet expectations, this place is not off our list. There aren't many choices for Korean restaurants on the West Side unless you want the take out counter type where you stand in line, choose four veggies, etc.....and those aren't very good.“
“It's a great location to come after touring Pearl Harbor. It's so, so delicious. It's perfect for Korean tastes. fried rice. Everything including rice noodles is delicious. The portions are large, so you can eat to your fill, the price is reasonable, and it's perfect.“
“The birria tacos were amazing and came with the best cheese cake bites. They were the perfect amount of sweet and had really fresh strawberries on top. Also the mayo drink was amazing and had cut up pieces of mango in it. I don’t have any pictures to post because we ate it all too quick. Also a good amount of food for the price.“
“I had very high hopes for this place.A few weeks ago, I stopped by for the first time and got beef curry and gyoza to go. It was spectacular! Decided to go for the ramen next visit. And I did.I wanted to get the thickest, most robust flavored soup, so I got the "Special" tonkotsu black garlic ramen.I really liked the visual presentation. Very vibrant, neat and appetizing. As with most ramen takeouts, the soup and noodles were packaged in separate containers. Before pouring the soup into the ramen bowl, I took a little sip.It was a tad disappointing, as I had such high hopes for this shop. The soup was a bit on the bland side. I guess the fried garlic chips are supposed to carry the flavor but there's nothing else. What I did notice was a slight slimy texture and a hint of odor. This probably indicates that inferior pork bones were used to draw the soup stock. For those of you who don't know how tonkotsu soup is made, ignorance is bliss. If you knew exactly what's in it, you may be traumatized! So, I'll spare you the details. What I will say is that hours of boiling the pork bones is needed to extract the umami, but other ingredients are crucial too. Grated ginger, garlic cloves, salt and pepper are some of the common items that are used. Despite the shortcomings of the tonkotsu soup, I have high hopes that Rakumen could be a top contender in the ramen world if they tweaked their soup just a little bit. Use better quality pork bones would be one. Adding a bit more flavor would be the other. *I had some leftover soup, so I added a little grated ginger and garlic with a few drops of la-yu to it and already, it was about as good as the other ramen shops in town. I give them 4 stars despite the seemingly harsh critique of their tonkotsu, because of their prompt and courteous service. But most of all, I believe that they will only get better.Looking forward to visiting again to up them to 5 stars!“
“A very nice surprise when my daughter took me here today. The hot sour soup was excellent and the only thing I didn't like was that the noodles were super slippery and hard to grasp with the chopsticks. But the flavors were spot on and the fried calamari appetizer was Ono. No sauce needed for the calamari. The pancake (soufflé) strawberry dessert was also delish and don't forget the ice cream with the dessert. My daughter forgot to order the vanilla scoop for $2. This place is a must try if you're in Pearlridge.“
“This restaurant was truly such an amazing place. The staff were incredibly kind and really just so helpful. It was my family and my first time here but we will be returning 100%.The food was absolutely delicious. I’ve never had anything like it in my life. I got the beef pho broth and beef brisket. It was life changing. I got some of the garlic butter they have and it was so so yummy. We had dessert after and it was also very delicious. We had the shave ice with boba. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone in the area.“
