“1st time visiting from California and my husband's 1st time trying sushi (which took a long time to finally get him to try it). We just happened to find the new place traveling around the island. Evan was working and was exceptional, very friendly and helpful with making selections off the menu. We Loved the atmosphere, especially the Christian music playing. Very clean and a good vibe. We loved it so much we had to buy some t-shirts. Thank you for a wonderful experience! We'll definitely be returning.
Kid-friendliness: Family friendly
Wheelchair accessibility: Our daughter is in a wheelchair and we were very comfortable dining in the restaurant“

“Anytime my mom asked, “Do you wanna go get Ayame ramen?” my answer was always, “Yes! YAY, Ayame!” As a kid, this was the first place I ever had ramen that wasn’t from a cup or a packet, and it made a huge impact on my tastebuds and what I’d be open to trying for the rest of my life.
Their curry and ramen are both incredible. I still remember staring at the fish cake, wondering what it was, but loving the flavor and texture, and thinking the bright pink swirl looked so cool. I even started putting chili oil in my ramen at a young age because of this place, I loved the heat and the flavor.
This place left such a lasting impression on me, and I would love to revisit and experience that nostalgia again, especially with my mom. That’s the heart of what makes a great restaurant, when someone loves their food enough to share it, and it becomes part of your memories together.
Wishing your restaurant many blessings and continued good fortune. I hope the families who come in today get to enjoy the ramen as much as I did, because 20 years later, I still remember that first bowl.“

“The beef curry is on point. They have a great variety of musubis to choose from and some very cool deserts as well.💯👏👏“
“We had a tour guide take us around the Island. We wanted to go to an authentic place to eat, not fancy touristy restaurants. He recommended 2 places, (I won't say the other one on this review, but it was also excellent!) He brought us to Coral Kingdom for the Huli Huli Chicken. It was so flavorful, juicy and delicious! We loved the relaxed atmosphere and good food. After we ate, we went shopping and got some cute souvenirs. I'm so glad we didn't miss this spot.“

“Went there earlier today and got the wafu steak with the sashimi, tempura(5pcs), and miso soup(included). And lemme tell you they have the most ono wafu steak. You could tell that steak was marinated. It was tender and juicy. You know when your order is ready when the whole restaurant smells like steak. I would definitely recommend trying the wafu steak. It feeds a family of 3 for 30 bucks.“

“This is a very nice restaurant on the windward side serving up local style Japanese food. It is a restaurant frequented by locals in the area.
There is a good selection to choose from and the portions are generous. The food is delicious and prices are good. The staff is very friendly with excellent service.
Overall it is a nice clean and relaxing place to enjoy good food with good people.“

“Now called Javi’s. Food was great! The waitress was super nice and attentive. The food came out fast, hot, and fresh. I wish the queso dip wasn’t over $12, but the other dishes are reasonably priced. BYOB at the moment until they get their liquor license. There’s a market next door that might have alcoholic beverages. There’s parking lot is a little cramped, so massive trucks would be hard to park in there.“

“Good food that is reasonably priced with large portions!
The menu has a ton of things on it and we only tried three things (crab rangoon, asparagus with shrimp, and honey orange chicken). I would definitely get the asparagus with shrimp again, it was so good!
The honey orange chicken lacked much of the orange flavor, but it was decent. We will come back for sure, probably with a bigger group to share lots of things.“

“If you’re a true sushi lover, this place is an absolute must. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with warm hospitality that instantly feels like you’ve been welcomed into a traditional Japanese sushi-ya. The staff not only provide impeccable service — attentive, gracious, and prompt — but they also speak Japanese, adding an extra layer of authenticity that’s increasingly rare to find outside of Japan.
But let’s talk about the real star here: the sushi. The hand rolls are, without exaggeration, the best. The fish is impossibly fresh, the rice is seasoned to perfection, and the balance of flavors is masterful. Every bite is crafted with such care and precision that you can tell the chefs are true artisans of their craft.
What’s the catch? They close early — like, 3 PM early. And that’s honestly the only downside. It’s a bit of a heartbreak knowing something this incredible isn’t available for dinner. But if you can plan your day around it, you’ll be rewarded with a sushi experience that’s unforgettable.“

“We had a great experience and the food was 10/10. We took our toddler who was really needing a nap and they were so friendly and helped keep him happy. We had the king crab combo. Even if you don’t like spicy, this place has something for you!“

“I will never forget the expression on our mother's face. The food served was reminiscent of her childhood in Osaka, Japan. Her dementia didn't stop fond memories that came into her mind with every bite of the food served to her. Thank you "Domo".“

“This place has delicious food, it’s clean and nice and inside, and the staff is friendly. Service can be a bit spotty once you have your food (waited a while for water), but they took our order quickly and the food came out perfect, and absolutely delicious! The menu is well-priced, given the portions and quality of the food. Highly recommend Moonga!“

“Love these guys, the food is consistently good, and the restaurant is run by a lovely family! The atmosphere is calm and cozy; it's a small space but they've done it up nicely. Would wholly recommend eating here if you're in the neighborhood.
The one thing is I wish they'd get the phones taken care of, for some reason when you call in it often goes straight to voicemail - but I usually walk in to order so it's not a big deal. If you can't call in def just stop by to see if they're open, it's worth it!!“

“Impressed by Pan's Kitchen yesterday! I ordered the fresh grilled ahi, and let me tell you, it was incredible. With the first bite you could tell just how fresh it was - perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. Just a heads up, there might be small hard time understanding sometimes due to the owner's accent. But be patient, communication works out, and the food is absolutely worth it. Parking can be tricky - it's one of those places we only go to when we see a spot open. We got lucky yesterday with an empty space, but two trucks swooped in as soon as we pulled in! Despite the potential parking hassle, Pan's Kitchen is a hidden gem. Highly recommend it for the incredible ahi (and hopefully a parking spot)!“
“The chefs here are fab-u-lous! Their love & efforts into the dishes does not go unnoticed. Love the diversity of food ranging from gluten free food, local food to asian, middle eastern, greek... and it tastes Yummy! You would think WCC has a culinary program. Uala Leaf Cafe beats KCC's cafe hands down! Occasionally some of their dishes could use some work. ;-)“
“Second favorite brewery in Hawaii but only by a slim margin, it was so close between Inu Island and Hana Koa. This place is well worth the gorgeous drive, and the scenery near the bar is honestly breathtaking. Those mountains wrapping around the bay are truly such a blessing on this world.“

“Our favorite Big City Diner location is the one inside Windward Mall in Kaneohe. We've known the owner Lane Muraoka before he opened his first location in Kaimuki. He also provided food donations to all my movie productions. So many restaurants turned me away but not him. His generosity and support will never be forgotten.
Now the ono food. We usually start with appetizers fried calamari and fresh poke. My wife loves all their sandwiches. I tend to order the same thing every time. Mamasan's meatloaf with rice sprinkled with furikake. On occasion I get the hamburger steak. Everything on their menu is delicious.“

“This shop has been here for decades. You will always find wonderful things to eat. Take out and cash only. I recommend their spring and summer rolls. Tasty and filling. They have the usual Ba-Le menu and have added several Chinese dish selections which are also delicious. Not sure if they still do it, but in the past, they grew all their own Basil, mint and green onions. A very dedicated couple of owners who have weathered the pandemic and continue to provide that old familiar taste and service that we have come to know.“

“I go to Bull Kogi anytime I want a huge plate of meat jun. The cook to order so it does take a while to get your order. It's large enough to make three meals for this senior citizen. The one thing I don't like is the paper containers they use ... By the time I get home, the container is soaked with the juices from the bank Chan. Otherwise, it's "a deal"!“

“This exquisite Japanese dish is a true feast for the senses. At its heart lies a succulent piece of butterfish, seared to perfection, its smoky flavor and tender texture melting in your mouth. Accompanying this delicacy are golden tempura shrimp, their crispy batter providing a delightful crunch that contrasts beautifully with the sweet, delicate shrimp inside.
A small bowl of savory broth adds depth to the meal, offering a warm and comforting umami taste that ties all the elements together. The dish is completed with fluffy white rice, a refreshing salad with crisp vegetables and creamy dressing, and a wedge of lemon to add a zesty brightness. A small dish of soy sauce awaits for dipping, enhancing the flavors with its rich saltiness.
This culinary masterpiece not only looks stunning but also promises an array of textures and tastes that epitomize the elegance and simplicity of traditional Japanese cuisine. Enjoy! ???“

“Nostalgia! Fried rice tastes like same recipe when I would buy the pint as a kid, with Char siu, peas and carrots and egg. I didnt realize it, but this has been my baseline fried rice to judge all other fried rice❤️ Pork hash wrapper was a little thicker than I'm used to, but the filling was so good with the hot mustard. Nice size gau gee as well and the stuffed bittermelon was delicious! The lady dishing up the orders was pleasant and kind. Can't wait to go back for more.“

“After some fun riding ATVs through Kualoa Ranch,we were starving. Aunty Pat's cafe came in clutch. We ordered the garlic and spicey shrimp combo and the pineapple teriyaki chicken with a side order of french fries. So first off the garlic shrimp, delicious 😋 the spicey one personally for me could use a little work, no disrespect it's just that I have tried spicey, But the Mac salad also good. Pineapple chicken really good and they are big portions. Fries did not disappoint. Recommend and recommend the ATV too.“

“My daughter has a food allergy. We didn't realize that the food we ordered her had a sauce on top that she was allergic to, since we couldn't see it in the menu photo. We had to ask to have it remade. And, unfortunately, it was right as they were preparing to close for the day. The employees very kindly remade the meal. They took her allergy very seriously. It is obvious that they used care to make the new one and did not try to reuse the food from the previous order. We are so thankful for how kindly they treated us and how quickly they remade the meal. Thank you for fantastic service and keeping my daughter safe! We will definitely be coming back.
Kid-friendliness: The employees were very patient with my kids choosing their meals. They usually have TV on with kid friendly shows. They also have kid sized meals.“

“Delicious food, generous portions, good service. You really should visit if you're hungry in Kaneohe.
You get rice, a protein, and four choices of ban chan (veggie sides like kimchee or cooked bean sprouts).
The ambiance is definitely "greasy spoon", but the food is really good quality, and, since its take out only, you're only there for a few minutes, the dated decor is not really an issue.“
