“Have eaten here many times. The “floppy flatbread” issue was no longer an issue on my last visit. Also I vehemently hate salad and have to say their salad is so farm fresh and good you have to get it. The vinaigrette is vegan. Also- Get the hot sauce!!“

“We are shave ice nerds and try shave ice whenever we are in Hawaii. This is in our top 3 across the islands. The mango syrup was incredible. Our coconut one needed a bit more and the gal mentioned even before we took it that we should come back for more syrup if it was dry. They were great. I like ice cream but it wasn't even needed because the ice was so smooth and the syrups so flavorful.“

“My husband, daughter and I visited Sweet Hula in mid-June 2025 and had the best açaí bowls in Hawaii! We were in Maui for three days during the last leg of our trip and ate here every morning. During our vacation we visited three islands (Oahu, Island of Hawaii and Maui) and had Açaí bowls almost every morning. Sweet Hula ended up being our absolute favorite of the five different places we tried. The folks who helped us each day were the BEST. They always greeted us with a smile and were so sweet and kind. They accommodated any topping change requests that we needed and the bowls always came out quickly. The large size bowls were perfect for keeping us fueled up for a day full of hiking and swimming. The açaí base was perfectly frozen and the toppings were super fresh and generously portioned. We also had some of their delicious, fresh banana bread that was perfect to snack on throughout the day. We’ve been back home in NC for two weeks now and we still talk about the Sweet Hula bowls and how much we miss them. Please go visit the folks at Sweet Hula and let us live vicariously through you!! “I know what you might be thinking when you see this place. Should I really bother trying to get genuine BBQ in Maui? Will this really stack up to a Carolina, Memphis, KC or Texas joint? Surprisingly, yes.
These folks know what they're doing, are super friendly, and their BBQ is legit. They're using local wood in their offsets too, so it is a unique experience compared to other places.
Can't go wrong with their ribs and I loved every side I tried, with the Mac n Cheese being a standout.“

“My Thai’s atmosphere was different than any restaurant I’ve seen before and seems to be very personality-driven. Matthew was great and greeted us, giving us complimentary water while we waited and mango sticky rice (delicious!) when he learned that we were honeymooners. We also got the orange chicken bao.“

“Not kidding when I say this is top-tier Thai food in the US (and I've had lots of Thai food in NYC, Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle, etc., as well as in Bangkok). I went here for dinner for two days straight and tried the pad thai, pad see eiw, lobster rice, and pad khee mao. ALL of these dishes are great. Hands down the best food I had during my week in Maui.“

“We went to a local place for lunch that had great reviews and were very disappointed. Came across this amazing food truck and randomly ordered a few things……ended up coming back not even an hour later to order more. Great portions, food was so good! Made to order and so yummy! It was utterly divine!!!! I wish I could take this plate home on the flight. I wouldn’t miss out on this meal.
My husband got the combo plate with the fukake fried poke and the ribeye and it was mouth watering. ALL the flavor and juiciness you could imagine. I 1000000000000% would recommend.“

“Daniel at Mexirican Mix is crushing it. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and seriously the best Mexican I’ve had on the island. You can tell he puts heart into everything he makes. This is a weekly must for us! If you haven’t tried it yet, you’re missing out!“
“My wife and I were walking to Cupies to try their food for the first time. We saw some food trucks near by and thought we would take a look see. We decided to try Da-Soriano Grindz instead of Cupies. I built my own grinds plate(hope I used the proper grammatical structure?). I chose the Chinese marinated pork belly and shrimp with salad and noodles. THE BOMB YO! BROK DA MOUT! My wife and I shared it and we were both stuffed. The location is quiet, super clean, lots of shady benches(not shady as in Slim Shady-LOL) and the small customer-only restroom was spotless. There are not many food trucks here and we did not try the others, so I cannot help you there. Kudos though to all the truck owners(they refer to themselves as “tenants”) for they all pitch in to keep this space invitingly attractive.“

Kihei Fish House by Maui Grill is a highly recommended spot! Their coconut shrimp are delicious, and the grilled mahi-mahi with special sauce is so yummy. Every plate comes with tasty rice, sweet potato salad, and green salad. All the meals are consistently good! While the waiting time can be a bit long, the shaded outdoor seating with 6 long tables makes it comfortable. Definitely check this place out for fantastic seafood.“

“I absolutely loved the service and the food here! As a vegetarian, it can be hard to find some varied options at a lot of restaurants. Here, they were so accommodating with tons of vegetarian or vegan options. The service was exceptional- we got recommendations on what to try and they truly cared about making things exactly how we liked - especially with our coffee drinks! I wish I had something like this where I lived!“
