“Smiley's was our first meal on our trip to Kauai, and what a perfect place to start! We ordered the katsu chicken, beef kalbi, and garlic butter shrimp. Everything was SO delicious. Honestly, some of the best shrimp I've ever had (FYI shrimp is peel 'n eat). We also LOVED the mac salad, and think it was the best we had on the island. Order extra when you go! I wish we would have been able to return during our trip! Service was so friendly, and the woman running the front counter (the owner's daughter; sorry! I didn't get her name) suggested where we could go to enjoy our food.“

“Some of the best poke on the island. Portions a bit smaller compared to other places but the options and flavors are on point. I had the hamachi and ahi inamona poke and gf got scallops and hamachi. Ended up going here a couple times. Conveniently located near our hotel and airport in Lihue. You don’t go here for atmosphere, in fact all of my favorite poke spots are in places like these or delis.“

“Staying at the Royal Sonesta and relaxing on Kalapaki beach, Kukui's is convenient and their gourmet burgers have a rich and decadent flavor, spot on! Drinks are refreshing! We like the blended strawberry daiquiris and pina coladas (virgin) especially.
Use the free parking on the southside of the Sonesta, with a 1-minute walk to the beach!“
