“What a gem of a place! All natural ingredients grabbed our attention to experience a healthier shaved ice for our Hawaii vacation. The chill vibe kept us there. Thomas was awesome, super down to earth, and great to chat with. Make sure to splurge for the ice cream with macadamia nuts on the bottom of your shaved ice — it was mind blowing!“
“Probably the best poke I had while on the island!! Multiple different varieties of poke. We got the Shoyu and Hawaiian. And we also got a large (wayyy too big, get the small) shave ice with Lilikoi, Guava and Piña Colada with Pineapple Dole Whip. Freaking delicious! Great last meal before we leave!!“
“A bit noisy because of the wooden floors and active bar making blended drinks. But the service and locally sourced food is superb. There are other table locations within the restaurant that are probably quieter than the one we chose right up front at the windows.“
“Sparkys is a delightful food place that exceeded all my expectations! The service provided by Kama was exceptional, making the dining experience truly memorable. The food was delicious, the ambiance was inviting, and Kama's attentiveness added a special touch to the meal. I can't wait to return to Sparkys for another wonderful dining experience!“
“A small little spot, but the food is good. I hate Mac salad, but I usually give it a small try to say I at least tried it. Tried the Mac salad here and it was yummy! The workers are friendly and patient as we were still deciding if we would dine in and if we wanted drinks or not. Me being a server, I know how it feels to be on the other side of the coin when customers are still making decisions during an order. I got the Kalua and fries. I love that the portion is generous. My chop steak was seasoned well and like I said, the Mac salad was ono. Next time I’m in search of food, I’ll be sure to stop by again.“
“I enjoyed eating here so much. The BBQ is delicious. Everything we had was juicey filled with flavor and was not drenched in sauce to hide the quality of the cuts of meat or the chefs ability to man the grill. The food was so good we drove across the island to have it one more time on our last day in “
“We enjoyed this restaurant very much. With a party of 17 it can be a challenge to serve so many efficiently. The staff excelled at their jobs serving delicious plates quickly with Aloha. The sushi chef is superb and the whole atmosphere here was joyful and welcoming. A must try... the Ube Creme Brulee. I will definitely be back again and highly recommend others to give it a try too!“
“The owner is a nice guy who makes sure you enjoy the food and experience! The pizza is wood-fired and cooked to perfection! The appetizers weren't worth it in our opinion but the pizza and drinks made up for it. The interior and music have an eclectic vibe too.“
“Came here twice in a day. Absolutely fabulous food with reasonable price on the island. If you are on Maui, no matter where you are, you need to come here and try. No seats, no problem! Create your own dinning area either by the store, on the car dash or hood. Service super fast. Chefs are singing in the kitchen to the radio, and they are not showing it to the customer. I can only imagine how positive this team is.PS: if you tried Giovani garlic shrimp on Oahu, forget about that and order garlic shrimp here. I’ve already told Giovani their food is mediocre and overpriced, and one time business to tourists.“
“Best food on the island in our weeklong stay, in a beautiful outdoor setting! The kalua pork loco moco was my personal favorite, but the macadamia mahi salad and kimchi fried rice were also fantastic. The staff were very kind and talked to us about their farm and good activities to do in the area.“
“Came on my birthday to have lunch & then visit the Aquarium. The Chef's Special was perfectly cooked! Staff was super friendly & efficient & packed my Ulu pie to go so I didn't miss my "behind the scenes" tour at the aquarium. Excellent restaurant.“
“Best food we had in Maui!! We came back 5 times during our last several days here and we ordered several things to take with us on the plane. The food is incredible (we had the beef stew, chicken hekka, lau lau, and chili) and reminds you of home-cooked comfort meals. The people who own this truck are even more amazing than the food and we had such lovely conversations with them. We will be back for sure. Until next time!“
“After a delayed connecting flight, we had no time to eat before getting on our next flight to Maui. We arrived at the Lowe's parking lot where this food truck was located. Took us some time to figure out where the food truck was parked considering how big this parking lot was.I got the ribeye steak and garlic shrimp, also comes with rice and a small salad. After surviving on pretzels, I ate the whole thing. It was delish. Great portion as well. Since there were no tables to sit at, we ate on the hood of our rental car.“
“My wife and I dropped in for a mid-afternoon lunch. We were happy with the cleanliness of the place, and it is nice and bright. The specials were posted outside and the Kalei's Bento sounded great. We got it and a chop salad with no protein to split. It came with Mochiko Chicken, Prawns, Beef, and Macaroni Salad. We wished we hadn't got it to split... Wow was it good - every bite was excellent! The staff were friendly and greeted everyone as they came in the door. The were happy to answer questions about the food for those not familiar with it. We'll be back!Parking: The shopping area parking is free and plentiful when we were there.“
“After just arriving to Maui from a 7 hour flight, the food trucks were a welcoming site! It was great to have various choices. There were some that were not open but still plenty of options. We enjoyed dinner from the shrimp truck! Lots of various shrimp dishes with very good flavors!Wheelchair accessibility: The property is located on ground level close to parking. There is a lot of loose gravel used to keep the area groomed. There are picnic tables with attached seats, no wheelchair access. Lots of little curbs or to each food truck there is typically is a step or two onto a platform.“
“Hidden gem of a local place to eat.The fried rice and fried noodles are amazing. If you do order the fried rice you can ask for it to be split and share two plates. It's a huge portion for one order. The manju is great.Super friendly staff.Closed Monday for staffing issues, but when it's open they take care of you.Parking: Parking lot in front. Ample parking.“
“Finally got some fresh traditional Poi here. It was the only place where we could find it.We called ahead of time to check if they had it.I also had Saimin with fish cakes.I enjoyed both of these.I saw a lot of locals when we were at the restaurant. Also have to mention the staff was extremely. friendly.“
“This has to be one of the best pasteles I have ever had. We had to call the owner since they weren’t where google takes you, but instead were down the street. The owner let us know where he was, we put in our order and then he brought it to our car.The flavor hits you right away in a good way. Loved the tasteOf the rice and pasteles. Definitely need to try it again before I leave Maui.“
“This burger is a spiritual experience. I am addicted to the bacon cheddar cheeseburger. Add the hot peppers (they aren’t too hot, more like a delicious slightly spicy pickle). The owner is really sweet and the food is both delicious and great price with a pretty wide menu. But trust me and please try the burger it’s honestly ridiculous it’s so good. A good selection of alcohol also.“
“The restaurant is very clean, has friendly and awesome service, 'Ono kine grindz' like gramma cooked it and you'll get the biggest bang for your buck. The large portions ensure you'll never finish your plate and still being hungry.“
“Really friendly staff with lots of recommendations. We wanted to try as much as we could, so we went with the sumo loco with fried rice to split. We also got a small saimin as well, but honestly for the two of us the sumo moco was more than enough. The fried rice and beef teri were the highlights in the moco. The saimin had a nice light broth with noodles I really enjoyed.Oh by the way, the sign for the place is underneath the parking area, but the place itself is on the level above you drive up to.“
“I have lots of feedback. I've lived on Maui (Wailuku Heights, Maui Meadows, Pukalani, and now Kihei again) for five years. A friend of mine was visiting from Virginia. I wanted to bring him to Mama's, but couldn't get a late reservation. I called Mama's and was told about the Wait List, so we came to Mama's, got on the Wait List, and had a wonderful table in less than 30 minutes. BRAVO for Mama's. I was surprised, because I gave the lady at the front (by the parking lot) my last name, and she knew my first name. This was my 12th visit, and I was already in your system. Thank you!“
