“Probably some of the best meals I've had in Hawaii!! Ono wrap is great and the hotdog (topped with sprouts, onion and cucumber) is my absolute fav. Menu options are pretty limited and they do run out, so come early! Everything is super fresh and satisfying, and the entrees come with a selection of fruit which I LOVE. I've also gotten different fruits every time I've visited which is fun and a great way for me to try new ones. You can also get whole coconuts. The shakes and smoothies are to die for. Really really recommend any shake with mac nut ice cream in it, it's so delicious. It's a very small location, but has lots of outdoor seating and is surrounded by nice flat ground if you want to picnic it!Vegetarian options: Hummus and veggie wraps, as well as smoothies and vegan shakes.“
“Popped into this cafe and was warmly greeted by a friendly employee. Several customers were already lined up and it didn’t take long for others to join us. No pressure but two girls got our orders quickly and my chai was delicious. The pastries looked super tempting and sit down customers had only positive comments. Although small it is quite charming and welcoming. Coming back soon.Parking: A pick up spot is located directly in front of the cafeKid-friendliness: There are options for kids so parents need no worry.“

“Great restaurant looking over Hilo bay. We took out two items as we couldn't get a reservation. Hilo sunset sushi was so good with poached shrimp, spicy salmon, gochujang aioli, cucumber, sesame, sweet potato chips and tempura crisps. We also ordered side of crab cakes: it came with nice fresh salad and tasty salad dressings. We loved that too. Next time we would like to sit in the restaurant and enjoy the foods over a good view.“

“So glad we happened to find this place in Hilo! The food was amazingly tasty and filling. We ordered a pancake and one of the spicy pork dishes. This was one of our favorite meals on the island. There are a handful of tables available inside, and they were almost all taken while we were there. Obviously everyone knows how great this place is!Would highly recommend eating here!“

“Friendly service, super hearty and healthy meals that tasted good too. A bit too tart though (some of the pickled stuff). We had the veg burger - tasted good, but very crumbly patty. The tostada and all the fixings tasted great but it was a badly done tostada - the tortilla was not made crisp enough so it was kind of half chewy and difficult to eat.The soup that day was a tomato red pepper soup that was nice on that rainy evening.Vegan ruben with dill / slaw / swiss cheese tasted sharp.Enough options and good quality. In terms of the ambiance - basic and no frills.“

“I visited Hilo for a weekend and are here twice in that time because it was so good. I had the pesto sandwich and it was really SO good. Other members of my party had nori wraps and loved it, avocado sandwich and loved it, I can’t remember what else but also loved it. Friendly service. Clean bathrooms. And I got homemade fruit leather to bring home to my kiddos. Hopefully it makes it because I might eat it all! They also have some hats (??) and other locally made items for sale.“

“White Guava is tucked away in the corner of the parking lot fronting KTA Puainako in the old pizza places spot. If you can remember that far back. I recommend making a reservation beforehand. The wait can be long. Especially if you have a big group. But let me tell you the wait was definitely worth it. Luckily we weren't dying of starvation of we'd never get to experience this gem. If you want a tossed salad this is the place. I mean you'll have your meal served on the side of the tossed salad. No joke. And you don't even want the steamed rice. Trust me. My friends and I usually order different entree's when we first entice in a restaurant to ensure we get the full spectrum of the menu. Then we share a little of what we've ordered and chow away. This first time we ordered the chicken katsu with tossed no dressing and French fries. The Pastele Burger w/fries, yes I said Pastele. And the Korean Chicken, side salad, side rice. And the rice wasn't even touched and my friend loves rice with everything. The service was slow and the wait was long as they looked short staffed but again it was worth the wait. Oh we also had the pupu mushroom with Korean sauce. Yum, yum, yum! Totally making this at home. The place had a salad island piled and stacked with kitchen stuff and a corner with kitchen stuff which I say should be tucked away somewhere out of sight, everything else was clean and clear. Even the restroom. Definitely will go back. Oh and they don't have anything guava. Forgot to ask why not.“

“Boba and smoothies are good for the price. Panini's are pretty good and worth the value. I can't blame the atmosphere on the place because the location is in a older spot of downtown. Service was excellent though. Friendly and fast.“

“It’s nice to see that Popover is still going strong. They have a variety of pastries to accompany their signature popover bread and lilikoi butter. Their doughnuts are not my favorite but I know that a lot of people like them. Their popover bread on the other hand I think is really good, a little plain for some people, but I like it. Their puffs are pretty good too. Light flaky texture with creamy, mildly sweet filling makes this worth a try. All of them, including the turnovers, are worth a try but I particularly like the haupia and apple. They also serve bentos, sandwiches and specialty coffee. Oh and I forgot to mention their staff are very friendly and helpful.“

“This was the best BLT sandwich I have ever tasted. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the food was spectacular. My kid really liked the 'there is a $5 fine for whining.' This cafe had really good french fries too. I highly recommend this cafe for a lunch stop.Kid-friendliness: There was a kids menu too!“
“We stopped in after visiting Akaka Falls, and it was the perfect treat after a short hike! It was really nice to meet the owners. They're super friendly. They serve Kula Shave Ice and the açaí bowl was amazing! The granola is so crunchy and delicious and homemade. My son got a mango shave ice and I also grabbed a jar of lehua honey. The shop is small but they have lots of seating outside in a covered area. There is street parking in front of the stores.“

“Gluten free granola and dairy free ice cream. The bowls are as pretty as they are delicious. The music is ono and will put you in a relaxong state of mind as you sip on the Hawaiian. The smoothies are fantastic. There may be only one person working when you come so please use your Aloha spirit and be patient. I do not think they serve sandwiches anymore.“

“OMG! My 1st experience there since Piilani kitchen opened its doors, was last Saturday, 3/16/!I was bored at home when I spocked a pic of their, panini sandwiches on IG and I walked the 1/2 mile to their quaint kitchen, just inside the doors of the Onomea Country store.Once there I was immediately greeted by a vivacious young lady, Gracie, ready to take my order!I ordered tacos that 1st day and have been back 2x since !Eat there, at the tables outside so you can taste the freshness straight outta the kitchen!Bon apetito!“
