“Wanted to support the local food trucks and glad we did....I had the bean chimichanga and it was big! Filled with beans and cheese...but you can definitely get meat of your choice. My friend had the steak street tacos and said they were delicious. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. They definitely showed Aloha! We passed by this food truck a few times and glad we stopped to have a bite. If you are wanting Mexican food, definitely give it a try!“

“TLDR: 10/10 recommend the Carne Asada burrito and Carne Asada Quesadilla.Wanted to wait until I was able to visit a few times before making a review. But this place has some of the best burritos in town. 10/10 would recommend if visiting from the west coast and wanting that authentic style burritos. Also they have great homemade salsas to choose from that pair very well with each dish. Also highly recommend the quesadillas if you aren’t in the mood for a burrito.Parking: I recommend parking in the Whole Foods parking lot and walking across the street.“

“Great mexican food, this is coming from an actual Chicano too. Fresh refritos, the red chile sauce is amazing the horchata was on point only had better in Monterrey Mexico ?? ?. Ceviche was amazing the, guacamole was very good, had 2 rellenos both great and pork tamales amazing. Our waitress was very good,The only thing I'd change would be the Musica, they used the radio that was crackly, they should get spotify or something keep the jams going smoothly. Again thanks for the delicious food. Dios te bendiga!!!“

“So this place is super close to my condo so I asked my two friends if they'd like to check it out. Oahu is just generally so behind when it comes to quality Mexican food but I had high hopes. Anyway, ordered the three tacos with beans and rice. Two shredded beef and one chicken. The shredded beef tacos were on point, really delicious. The chicken taco was good but not quite as good as the beef. Whole pinto beans, very tasty. Sadly the rice wasn't so good, definitely lacking flavor but mixed with the beans okay. Overall, I was surprised. I've eaten Mexican food all over California, LA, San Diego etc and this was good. The tall guy taking orders I think could have been a bit friendlier, he seemed a little annoyed by some questions I had about the menu. So that and the rice knocked my rating from 5 to 4“

“Bruh bruh BRUH! Now, this place is a hole in the wall that needs to be celebrated and supported beyond all means! It is small, maybe seating for just a few people, but don't let that stop you. Get yours to go if need be, just go. Braddah behind the counter is living his dream, and besides being super nice, he has created some delicious food! This stuff is the bomb. This is now my first consideration for future mexican food desires. I had the mexican hamburger burrito (smothered, duh!), and the plate overfloweth. Definitely worth the price, and it was quite the struggle to finish all of it because there was so much, but I managed to do so in one sitting. It was delicious. Roll the dice for streetside parking, but there's also parking lot just a little ways walking distance on the corner of Nu'uanu and Vineyard. We'll be back, Tio!“

“I accidentally came during happy hour, which is from 2pm-4pm but I’m glad I did! I got a carne asada taco for $3 and this came with free chips and salsa. I didn’t care for the salsa it came with but I loved the salsas from the salsa bar. The salsa verde and the orange one were so full of flavor. Cheapest meal I had during my visit!“

“Solid Mexican food. I've had a fair share of Mexican food including street food in Mexico city. Mayita's grill makes great Mexican dishes and Birria Quesadilla I ordered was delicious. I would recommend take out as the area where this is situated (it's just a small kitchen attached to a pickup truck) can be a bit sketchy, especially after sunset.“

“Everyone there was super nice and the food was good. It must take a ton of work to make a successful restraunt, I'm sure of it. And they certainly put most of the effort into the food. If the owner asked me what they could do to improve, I would say that the place needs an up lift, but hey I'm not there for an experience, I'm there because I'm hungry and they got that locked down.“

“Passed by Tapas Kitchen in a hot afternoon. I was craving for a cold drink then so I decided to try mango smoothie. The smoothie is all made of fresh mango cuz I found mango pulp in it. It tastes so good and fresh. And I love its presentation. The frozen bear looks so cute on it. And probably cuz I was the only client and it was less busy then, the owner even generously offered to fill up my cup with the remaining smoothie in the blender.I will definitely come back not only for smoothies but also for food.———UpdateWas craving for some comfort food so I went today for fried chicken wings. This chicken wings exceeded my expectations. Very tasty. When I placed the order, I assumed I would get the ordinary fried chicken wings. (You know those wings sprinkled with salt and pepper.) The second I opened the container, I smelled a very nice fresh citrusy aroma from lemon zest on the chicken wings. The wings are crispy outside and tender inside. Very flavorful and not greasy at all. I really like the spices used for the wings.I would give the wing a 9/10. It would be perfect if it was a little bit more juicier. (It’s not dry at all though)“

“Small business, friendly staff, burrito was tasty. Not fast food prices, but those aren't inexpensive anymore either, so why not go local?Parking: Lot behind the building is most likely always full.Wheelchair accessibility: First floor business with a double door and spacing between tables that should be no issue.“

“The best Mexican food on the Windward Side and run well by a good family. I do not go elsewhere (except for when I am on the mainland, but I'd also say El Mariachi is not only the best on Oahu, but also better than anything you can find in Merced or Madera counties in California. Try the carne asada chile relleno!)“

“This is the second time coming here having given it some time to iron out the issues. We were totally impressed and came here for drinks on a Saturday evening. The space is bigger than when we first went in years ago. Service was great and attentive. The drinks were good and well prepared with just the right amount of alcohol. The food was tasty. It was nice to see that the restaurant had many patrons to keep them afloat. We will definitely be coming back to try other items.“

“What a lovely hidden gem!! Hands down best Mexican food on the island of O’ahu and top two in Hawai’i! Well worth the drive from Waikiki to Kailua. Tacos combination plate, fajitas and fried ice cream are all simply scrumptious! Will be returning and highly recommend.“

“Had a chicken burrito, it was special. But I have had trouble figuring out the schedule and where to find this truck! I'll keep looking for it, it was that good! Went back just now ordered the lengua street tacos with bean and rice. Delicious. Homemade refried beans and the rice is served with chunks of nicely cooked potatoes and seasoned nicely. The tacos were also very good, and simple, filling was tender, served with plenty of fresh cilantro and diced white onion. Homemade salsa might be chipotle, flavorful with perfect amount of zing to it.“

“Finally was able to make it here during our Oahu vacation, they open early and close at 3 and we kept forgetting that lol Ordered steak street tacos and a steak quesadilla. The steak is flavorful, and isn't chewy. Green salsa is great and they have different hot sauces The quesadillas is a good size and has all the fixings Definitely worth the stop, we will be returning to try their breakfast burritos“

“I was in a rush when I went after trying to go to Steve-o’s for my third time and finding them closed. So I came here and they were out of most taco fillings, such as carne asada and even potato, so I settled for three chicken tacos. They were fine but nothing super special. The salsa verde was nice. I also wish they did taco Tuesdays like other places do.“

“Love the tacos, some of the most authentic flavors on island. My only gripe is how tiny they are. Typically taquerias give 2 tortillas with street tacos and you can make a second taco with the leftover meat, so it’s a disappointing that these only give one. The salsas are so good and glad they don’t skimp. Sad that 100 bucks wasn’t enough to feed my family(2 adults 2 kids) given the small portions of food. Also, the horchata was so gritty, I’ve never experienced that before in an agua fresca. Overall good food and atmosphere, bummer prices.“

“Our first family trip to Waikiki Beach looking for affordable local food with 2 teenagers. This place is on 2nd floor in an ally, with lots of characters! Service is great! We took advantage of the dinner combo, that served with choice of an alcoholic or non-alcoholic welcome drink, cobb salad, choice of main entree and sherbet. We chose signature loco moco, garlic shrimp, Kalua pork & cabbage and kalbi plate. Best dinner we have in Hawaii so far!“
“The bestest! I love this ceviche with a passion. The tostados are amazing, too. Perfectly seasoned, served extra cold, this ceviche is refreshing, satisfying, healthy and delicious. I always pick up a shrimp ceviche, fresh salsa and tostados when I make it to the Kailua farmers market. Perfect pupu along side an iced cold beer.“
“Have you ever been here? I have walked by drunk or going to be drunk many times. It is a hole in the wall that only has lunch service and only take out. To be here that long they must be doing something right. The food was so good. I got the Chile Verde Wet Burrito. It is so ono. Will be heading there more for lunch!“

“We had the best Birria meal, pastor tacos? and tamales We found out Sandy cooks all the food from scratch thats why it's so delicious!. They were so friendly and happy to help us with our order since we were so many in our group. We definitely will recommend it and will be coming again soon.“
