“We live in Ankeny, but very often drive to the Johnston Panera to enjoy our weekly coffee/pastry date. This location is obviously managed well. It is always clean and the pastries are not over baked. The coffee bar is also always clean as is the microwave. Coffee is always fresh and if it isn't they immediately bring out a fresh pot. Also this location seems to be well staffed! Our compliments to the management and staff of this Johnston location! Well done!“

I cannot say enough great things about this place. the owner (I’m pretty sure) is the kindest man I have came in contact with in a long time. He gave my son stickers and a drink. Then told us all the popular foods. He got us taste tests of the meat so we could pick our favorite flavor. Our food came out in 5 minutes or less. He then offered us Dole soft serve twist on the house. The customer service was through the roof. The food was amazing. Please come try!!“

“We made the bad decision to go to Olive Garden late on Valentine’s Day and I can tell you I was pleasantly surprised by the service we got and the atmosphere. Instead of chaos, we had a server that was very into positivity and making sure we were well taken care of. I ordered the Chicken Marsala which cannot be oversold because it is so good. The food was hot and was as we expected. I had some wine which was delicious and overall it was a very good experience. We will be back!“

“Went with my niece before an appointment. Showed up a little before 9 and Zuella was the cashier. She was very personable and polite. She had a warm feeling about her. We dined in and my niece and I both got the bacon, egg and cheese biscuit. Both sandwiches were fresh and Zuella came out and checked on us. She was very hospitable. Restaurant was clean. What I did appreciate was there was a table of staff all sitting together eating behind us. Whether it was them on break or about to start/ended shift, it was nice to see they were given that time and seemed to be enjoying themselves. Great experience.“

The brisket sandwiches are amazing as is the smoked Turkey! Piled high with just the right amount of smoke and the sauce was perfect! I’m glad I got the smoked Turkey as it was tender and juicy,. I am allergic to onions so I usually can’t eat potato salad at restaurants, but their has no onions and was wonderful! And the fried Okra was so good! It was getting busy, so the owners little girl brought us menus and we were got to talk to her… such a nice family and such a great addition to the East side! We will definitely be back“

“If I didn't know I was in Des Moines, I'd believe Allora was in Milan, Italy. The food was fresh and delicious, and the coffee was perfection. The service was great, both unobtrusive and attentive (a balance not a lot of American restaurants at this price point seem to understand. Centro also does a great job balancing the two!)“

We had the build your own pasta which makes possibilities endless. The creamy mushroom sauce on rigatoni with added Italian sausage was great. We will return again.“

Only complaints are they give you an optional tipping screen when paying, when they don’t really offer any courtesy acts once they’ve given you your food both for dining in and for pick up. Also they jack up the price on tea, lemonades and certain sides, and I have to say the fruit cup is not worth the price jump. But their sandwiches are great, service is fast, and overall not bad if you just get a water and chips for your drink and side.“
