“My husband and I came in tonight for 4 flights for our family. The place smelled amazing, the staff was welcoming and friendly. We waited a little bit for our food, but it was certainly worth the wait!!! My whole family loved it, even my pickiest!!! “Update: Looking back 8 years later, we still remember what a fantastic experience we had at Skippers Restaurant. The food was excellent, the portions were generous, and the overall atmosphere made it a memorable stop during our travels.
The service stood out just as much as the food. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and made us feel comfortable from the moment we walked in. It had that classic local restaurant feel where you could tell people truly enjoyed coming there.
What really stayed with us over the years was the quality and consistency of the experience. Great food, good service, and a relaxed atmosphere are what make restaurants memorable, and Skippers definitely delivered all three.
As Mike & Amy’s Small Town Adventures, we have explored restaurants all across Illinois and beyond, and this is still one of the places we remember positively years later. Easy 5 stars from us.

“Chiggy’s Gyros has been part of my life since they opened.. an amazing 29 years ago, and somehow it’s still just as good as I remember from day one. In a world where so many places change ownership, cut corners, or lose what made them special, Chiggy’s has stayed consistently amazing. The gyros are always fresh, flavorful, and piled high, the fries are perfect, and the service has always felt welcoming and genuine.
What really makes this place special is the memories tied to it. It’s become one of those comfort spots you keep coming back to through every stage of life. After nearly three decades of eating here, I can honestly say Chiggy’s isn’t just a restaurant — it’s a local institution. Grateful they’ve been serving the community all these years, and I hope they’re around for many more.“

“Absolutely amazing! The 1/2 Greek Chicken at The Gyros Factory is one of the best meals I’ve had in Des Plaines. Perfectly seasoned, cooked on the bone, and unbelievably tender. The rice pilaf and Greek potatoes complete the plate beautifully. A must-try!“

“Cheese dog was literally a wrinkled hot dog drowned in nacho cheese sauce. The polish was on a French roll & difficult to bite into. I had it with all the toppings & it was only a few sliced of onions & a few green peppers slices. Not much toppings. I don't recommend those two. Other meals looked good though. Mine were just... disappointing.“

“This is one of the best take out places ever. Menu offers healthy choices and yummy soups, as well as some down home fast food as well. Friendly efficient staff. This restaurant is clean as a whistle too. We love Dengeos.“

“The quantity and quality and fresheness of food was very reasonable for an Airport, and my order was ready right way. The bar was small but comfortable enough, but the cheapest beer was around $12. That may be the norm in O'hare, I'm not sure, but it seemed high. If i find myself in Teminal 2 with time to burn again, i'd try one of the larger chain restaurants. *Lots of reviews mention the fries, and that is true. I didn't even know that the chicken pita even came with fries, but evenly it did, and there were a lot of hot fresh really tasty fries included in the bag. I probably shouldn't have, but definitely did eat them all. The fries were great.“
