She has a great sense of humor, the food Two of the party has steak burritos , they both rate them an 8 of 10, one has two steak tacos and one quesobirris he tasted them an 8 also, I had the chicken flautas the chicken was very bland , I didn't know they put cojita I think it was on top I personally don't think it's needed doesn't add to flavor actually adds to the blandness of the dish , the rice was very good and I normally don't like Mexican rice too me it is little flavor this week all agree was really good, and honestly the guacamole is the best I have ever had at a restaurant, the other 3 in our party also loved the rice the guacamole and the beans had a lot of flavor, We will definitely go back,“

“Such a great pub venue. Our server, Tyler, went out of his way to welcome us. The menu is extensive. The beer list has both rotating taps and craft beer options. They offer cocktails, spirits and wine as well as N/A options. The food is outstanding. I had the ginormous wings. Others ordered mini burger sliders and Etouffe. Both liked there dishes. This is a place we will go back to. We watched the World Cup soccer game without feeling bombarded by TVs.“

“We have always enjoyed VT but this was poorly managed. We came in on a Wednesday and ask to sit at a booth. The booth they sat us at was right next to a party they had going on. And people were standing right at the edge of the booth and was extremely loud. Why they didn't put the party separated in the empty section by the bar would be more appropriate. It seems they were over the limit on the one side. So we asked to move to a booth that was empty. They said we couldn't move to that booth as it wasn't open. Needless to say we took our business elsewhere.“

“Not only have I loved Hawthornes from when I was a kid growing up in West Chicago! It was the PERFECT place to have my wedding. Lou, Heidi and Kelly did fantastic and helped make my dream come alive! Every question I had they answered and were able to accommodate so much! Heidi was in CONSTANT communication with me and was able to give advice and help me through the whole process. Her suggestions were so helpful and she helped during the ceremony and reception. I could not have done it without them. This place treats you like family and has amazing service! When my husband and I went to pick up our things the next morning we were planning on taking 2 trips and Lou let us borrow his truck that is how amazing and friendly they are! WE LOVE YOU HAWTHORNES! I personally came here for food not alcoholic beverages and I brought my service dog with me on both visits.

First day I ordered their johnson bratwurst extremely delicious if you choose to add sauerkraut too and it comes with a choice of side so I got the seasoned curly fries and my Pyrenees gave it an enthusiastic 5 paws 🐾 up even though he only has 4 paws. The pub is very casual and an older group of men seem to be frequent customers here.

Yesterday my second visit I had my friend come here to and he also loved his order a very generous Bowl of chicken soup and a fish sandwich and I got the fish tacos with a small side of Spanish rice.

Everything is simple, inexpensive and tasty and very close to the Palatine Metra station in case you need to kill time before catching your train.

Servers here on both occasions are kept quite busy and are extremely friendly. A great place to relax with cheap eats.“

“I can’t share my experience there but I ordered off of uber eats and the food is amazing! The price first had me sketchy thinking it wasn’t going to be good lol because how is it this cheap and the quality is better than a place I would pay over 25$ for. The ribeye steak sandwich is amazing cooked to perfection. The fries and cheese were so good and so was the cheesecake! I definitely am going to take the kids out here one day. My food was piping hot and amazing! Definitely going to be a returning customer 100000/10 I will be back🫶“
