“Just recently moved to Bloomingdale. First time trying this restaurant. It was by far the best Chinese food we have ever had! Shrimp fried rice actually had a lot of shrimp. All the food was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be making this our go-to restaurant for Chinese food.“

“Great atmosphere and excellent service but very small verity of food choice and very little placed in the trays.

This place has lots of tables but only 1 heated food booth. I’d say it has about 8 dish verities give or take. No fish or fresh vegetables or fruit. Not even sushi. The only vegetables available were cooked with meat or 2 other separate options.

This was unfamiliar neighborhood for me as I stopped by for my kids activity then checked for buffet where my 5 y/o asked for French fries. We took 2 plates not even full about 10-15 individual fries and that’s it, the trey was empty.

When I asked for a takeout, container they gave me was a small rectangular plastic box with a lid and honestly I think I took the last of meat because it was that little of a choice.

Price wise it wasn’t expensive I think I paid $23 for us both and $11 for takeout 🥡 it’s a small place but if it’s convenient to the neighborhood go for it.“

He was knowledgeable as to what was or what wasn’t on the mean and made sure that dietary likes or dislikes were met. “I went here the other week with my girlfriend and it was awesome, the Orange Beef and Spicy Wontons were the best! We stayed to eat outside and got to talk to the owner (who by the way is super friendly). We're definitely going back soon :)“

“This place is kind of in a unassuming strip mall next to Wendy's, so I originally didn't have high hopes. But I can say this place is truly a hidden gem. I had the 3 cup chicken, which was out of this world amazing. I highly recommend giving this place a try of you are on the fence. You will not be disappointed.“

“Quite honestly one of the most pleasant experiences I've had dining in. The dining room is very calm and nice, it's exactly as pictured in the reviews and they had great 90s grunge music playing too, that and the lucky cat statue were my favorite parts :). Aside from my favorite kind of atmosphere the people were so polite and kind. The service was amazing, when I let them know my allergies they made it very easy and simple. They brought out the food fairly fast too with really good sauces and everything was hot and delicious. I highly recommend the bbq pork fried rice and the eggroll. It's always seasoned so well that you don't need soy sauce for the rice. I've been to plenty of Chinese food places and not a lot of them can accomplish that. 10/10 every visit.“

“I had not ordered from this place in quite some time. I was in a bit of a time crunch from doing activities around the house. I placed my order and it was ready within 30 minutes. I had one of my all-time favorites, that would be barbecue pork egg foo young. The recipe has not changed. The food tasted as good as I remembered it.“

“It's a bit of an older place, just vibes-wise, but it just means the food there is amazing since the chefs are so familiar with every dish they make. The waiters and waitresses, despite not speaking English as a native language, are all so kind and considerate as well! I highly recommend the Hainan chicken rice and the Vietnamese iced coffee. “I had take-out from Peking Chinese Food last night. It was very good. Ordered Egg-Foo Yung, General Tso's Chicken, Fried Chicken Wings. They have the best General Tso's Chicken around. “My son graduated college and we wanted to get takeout on a very cold night, dinner in a restaurant to follow. We had not gone to China Star for a very long time, but have been told the new owners have turned it around and they were right. We tried hot & sour soup, fried rice, egg rolls, shrimp with lobster sauce, sweet & sour chicken, and egg foo young. We realized immediately that we ordered way too much, but it was so good, so it was fine. Their food was excellent and the portions were big, so plan accordingly. “Whenever I try a new old style chinese restaurant, I get shrimp with lobster sauce and bbq pork something, like bbq pork fried rice or vegetables, etc.

Shrimp with lobster sauce is a very nostalgic food for me. It was something I tried 15~ish years ago from this small chinese restaurant near work. It was $5.45 lunch specials at the time, and I wanted to try something other than monglian beef, generals Tsao chicken etc.
And i fell in love ever since.

I love brown starch sauce that is made with, and it needs to have black beans and stripes of pork and egg. But some restaurants tend to make this with white sauce with pea and ground pork, or just not enough salt or msg.

Well, this place make it perfectly how I wanted, and less than 9 bucks. You can't beat this deal.
The only thing to critize is that chicken fried rice was not good...it was dry and maybe a day old.

Bbq pork was also really good, cut thick the way I also like it. You can taste rice oyster sauce, and vegetables were cooked well.

It definitely reminded me of the old spot that I loved and will be coming back to try more dishes.“

“This is my favorite Chinese food in the area due to the portion sizes and flavor. I usually order orange chicken, general taos chicken, and sweet and sour chicken. All very good. It is located in a strip mall so easy access in and out. They will deliver to GE and Lombard for sure. Not sure of other areas but worth asking. The delivery driver is always very nice. The location has 2-3 small tables so it is mostly for takeout. Last time I called in and it was ready for pickup in 20 minutes. Highly recommend.“

“I’ve been coming to this restaurant for over 15 years. Since, I’ve moved across the country but make it a point to stop by and get my favorite crab rangoons every time I’m in town. It’s filled with meat and not just all cream cheese like most other places. Classic general tsao and orange chicken are faves too. Hands down though, BEST crab rangoons ever!“

“This place has some of the best Chinese food I have found near Hanover park/streamwood/Bartlett. Mongolian Beef is more traditional (spicy and not sweet, packed with beef, white and green onions and includes the crunchy white noodles). The fried rice with shrimp came with good size shrimp. The crab Rangoon is also packed with filling and you can tell they change their oil frequently. We also enjoyed their beef lo mein and sesame chicken. Their food is not salty, but if you like that add a little salt yourself to bring out a tad more flavor. Don’t plan on dining in, it’s not the greatest atmosphere. It is clean but clearly meant for carry out first.“
