“It can be incredibly difficult to find good vegan good, but I always know I can visit The Happy Bakery for a good meal served by smiling faces. The baked goods are out-of-this-world good (you just have to try those sprinkle cookies!) and the lunch/brunch options are just as delicious. You do not have to *be a vegan* to enjoy The Happy Bakery. Even if you eat meat for every other meal, you can go here and enjoy some fantastic food that just so happens to be free of meat and dairy products. I have taken friends and family here that were not vegan, and they all had a great time.“

“The customer service is as good as the quality of their food/drinks! A must try if you’re looking for a healthy, organic, snack! If you’re like me and love Matcha but also like to avoid unnecessary added sugars, know that their matcha powder is unsweetened and so good!“
“A local, fun, seasonal, ice cream shop. They mix it up with specials and have a very complete menu. What they call a 'mini' I would call a small or maybe even medium, so be wise in your size selection. I don't know that I've ever got the same thing twice, and I've never been disappointed. On a nice day enjoy the weather and the walk and treat yourself ?“

“Just what I was looking for! It was my first time downtown and I was looking for coffee and a cookie for me and my son, they were great with him and let him look at all the different kinds of sugar cookies and played along with his games while I figured out what to order. My iced latte was perfect and everything was reasonably priced. My only complaint was it didn’t give me the option to tip when I used Apple Pay and I didn’t have any cash on me.“

“Halloween weekend - busy place and seemed a bit understaffed as our server was managing several tables as well as making drinks at the bar. However, service was timely, efficient and cheerful. I split a sandwich with an accompanying friend and our server very thoughtfully had split the check and our drink orders without us even asking- very impressive especially on a busy night! We had the Cuban and it was well prepared with crispy bread as it should be. Prices are in line with quality and quantity. Their cocktail menu is fun but most importantly the cocktails taste good. Setting is quite casual and can tend to be noisy. My only negative is I wish they had fries!“

“Best ice cream around - always great staff. You can tell the difference in the taste of this ice cream vs others .. flavors are always rich. Prices are competitive with other local places , chains included . This is best bet for ice cream in the 618 area .“

“Took my mom and her friend to Bobby's Frozen Custard for a dessert and was not disappointed. I had a butter pecan concrete and the ladies has sundaes. Everyone enjoyed their treat. We used the drive thru and service was fast and pleasant.“

“Great place. However, my buffalo chicken had no heat at all and my friends BLTs were very underwhelming to the point of not finishing despite being exhausted and starving. Servers were busy but could be seen chit chatting and sitting around“

“The funnel cake is fried too hard! It should be crispy but still have a somewhat soft texture to it throughout in my opinion. I love the fried pork tenderloin sandwich. My only complaint is with the condiments added the bottom bun/bread becomes soaking wet, unfortunately. The last time I went I received lettuce that had started to turn brown which was not okay to me. More attention to quality control.“

“Got here super early in the morning driving from Texas up to Chicago. This is the hottest coffee I have ever had the pleasure of burning my tongue! The young lady filled our thermoses added the milk and y’all even carry honey as well! Great strong taste!! I will remember you on our family road trips.“

“Good food with a great craft beer selection. There was only one waitress working all of the tables, and she seemed a bit overwhelmed. I wanted to try more of the beers, but my orders were wrong a number of times. That's not a knock on her, but management for not having backup help for her. She was very nice.“

“Wow! It’s been a long time since I’ve had a burger this good! Ordered the special of the day “Bye Felicia” double patty with grilled onions and cheese but I don’t remember which type. Ordered the sweet potato tots and a soda. The meat was tasty and the restaurant’s mayo added a nice kick to my tots. I enjoyed every bite and couldn’t finish, so I took it home for later.Staff were friendly and accommodating. Restaurant was clean, spacious and had plenty of tables/dining options.“

“Getting Better. Old Herald Brewer & Distillery started with a lot of positives and has evolved, getting better all the time. Everyone can find faults and recommend ways that the businesses can be better and management probably realizes most of the little problems. Old Herald evolves and we celebrate that. It is fun to see what they do next and keeps us coming back. Yes, some of the stuff we miss and hope it comes back, all we can do is say what we like and what we don't like.... Like the tiny plate for their awesome Chicken & Waffles, or that Old Heralds unique "Coalsch" beer, a cousin to the German Kolsch Beer, is no longer on the beer menu. BUT! There are several unique and awesome mixed drinks that everyone who enjoys mixed drinks should investigate. They change stuff so fast that their web site can't keep up, but it seems the Facebook page does. I hope they keep up the good work!“

“I rented out the 2nd floor space for my dad's surprise birthday party yesterday and it could not have gone any better. Renae was very responsive and flexible planning the menu, our bartender Chris was fantastic and all of the food was incredible. I highly recommend looking at this space if you are planning a private event.“

“Their ice cream is pretty good, but it’s annoying that at this point in time they only accept cash. I run two businesses and it wouldn’t cost them that much to at least accept debit cards. You’re talking pennies an order. Even as a person that runs a business, I rarely have cash. It’s just disappointing to have to pass the place up so much. Specially, since me and my family get ice cream multiple times a week lol.“
