50 Best Soup in Chicago

“This was my second time eating here but 6th time having their food - I think I have confidence in this place to be consistently good. So when I brought my family here visiting for the first time time, for dinner, I was rest assured. We had come in at 8, and put in our order by 820 - all vegetarian with veggies and tofu. 30 minutes go by (nearly closing) and they come back to say they’ve run out tofu. Understandably, we were disappointed. We reluctantly made the modifications to our dishes as it was too late to go anywhere else. 30 more minutes elapse and we’re wondering where our food was; lone and behold, the restaurant had gone out to procure tofu for our dishes. Despite the bad taste the first half left in our mouth, the second half of them going above to fix the issue and make incredible food made up for it. Will come again, but just will confirm the tofu availability beforehand ;)“

Only room for improvement may just be deep cleaning aspects. Otherwise, I will be coming back for the authentic food!“

“First and foremost, the staff is hands down the best! Literally the friendliest staff I’ve ever encountered! And I’ve tried a few things on the menu and nothing has been a let down. Usually I regret straying from “the usual” but I never do here. The crab rangoon is the best I’ve ever had, the wings surprised me with how tasty and well cooked they were, the basil chicken egg rolls were bomb (so is the basil chicken over rice), and the Khao Soi is a best seller for a reason!“

“Have been going to many Chinese restaurants looking for a good hot n sour soup. It's all been terrible, even at places that used be good, sometimes even getting just a cup of mostly broth. Well my search is over finally found a good hot n sour soup, flavors were perfectly balanced, came with hot chili oil which is usually extra at other places. Will be back to get my soup fix. Two thumbs up, ten stars!“

“I was wondering around by myself trying to find a hidden Chicago gem and I stumbled across Penny's Noodle Shop! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is incredibly welcoming. The workers are so friendly, warm, and inviting, making you feel right at home. The food is consistently delicious, fresh, and cooked to order, which really makes a difference. They have a great selection of Asian cuisine, with something for everyone to enjoy. Plus, the location is fantastic, making it a perfect spot for a quick and satisfying meal near the ballpark. Their vermicelli with grilled chicken is also great, very refreshing during the hotter months. I keep ordering their bac xiu coffee so I haven’t gotten around to try other drinks on their menu yet.“

I’m back in town for the week and saw that they were still open, so I ordered myself some drunken noodle and had a little picnic at The Point. I wasn’t very familiar with the different types of sauces and they offered me a sample of each to try in order to help me to decide which sauce to select for my meal. Everything came out fast, and the staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and efficient. NOEL AND JOVANA were SUPERB! They showed us pictures of everything and explained all of the options and we really enjoyed the food. It was very good. Everything was cooked perfectly, well seasoned, but not over seasoned, but still light. We live in the neighborhood and will definitely come back again. Everything was fantastic!“

Everyone asks for Alisha's cakes for their birthdays. The cake is dense and rich so we usually serve smaller slices (but people will go back for seconds).“

I had a one hour layover in midway, and my gate was in another concourse. I felt like it was a small gamble to eat there and make it across the airport in time. But the service was simply top-notch!

The food was good too! The chicken tenders felt like Costco chicken tenders, but they were prepared well. The best part? The chicken wings! Order that appetizer because you won't regret it! The wings were huge for chicken wings! Everyone one had a good deal of meat on them. Really impresses that those giant wings were hiding in an airport.“
