“The food was great. The gravy (marinara) over the meatball appetizer was better than mine. The arugula salad was lightly dressed letting the greens be the focus. Since it was entree sized the waiter suggested we split it. We also went with his suggestion and got the table side made Cacio E Pepe Bucatini. It was $10 more for table side prep, but they made it in a "bowled out" wheel of parmesan cheese which was entertaining, and delicious. I will definitely go back.“
“If I could I would give 10 star instead of 5, thats how much I like this place. My daughters and I go here a few times a week. I absolutely love the food and the atmosphere/environment, it has a very cozy feel to it. The Staff here is so so so amazing that sometimes it feels too good to be true especially nowadays when people have become so rude and obnoxious especially since covid. I want to mention names of the people who are not only kind but polite and provide excellent customer service. Emily is one of the managers but what a great person, she definitely deserves her title, Nerlyn (not sure if I am spelling her name right) is also very very awesome. Couple other absolutely amazing people from the staff are Tina (one of the managers) and Adan.Love love love the place, service and atmosphere. Thank You guys for being so awesome always!!!“
“Home Run, got the 8 finger cavetelli with a couple meatballs on the side. Both were amazing, pasta cooked fresh tasted great, meat sauce was very meaty. The place was spotless, by far the cleanest restaurant I've gotten food from in a long time. You can tell the owner cares. I hope they continue making great food cause I'm gonna continue going here.“

“Most in our group had a wonderful meal...chicken sandwiches, and tuna poke bowl. Also flatbread appetizer and brownie dessert were wonderful. However my quinoa burger was not very good. First of all it fell apart when, after cutting in half, I tried to pick it up. And just not much flavor. Was disappointed in that. Other issue was that most everyone had a taste for pasta, and mac and cheese was the only pasta option.“

“We came here once before. This visit was during lunch. We didn’t know they had a lunch special starting at $9.95 depending on the protein you select. This is one of the most delicious Thai food restaurants I visited and I had visited many. We ordered the pekimao with beef and the of Thai with chicken. Everything was done very nicely with flavor and not over cooked. The drunken noodle was a little spicy but within my tolerance. They also add small appetizers such as egg rolls and fried tofu which makes the meal even more worth paying. Everything was great. I wish they would update their floors but other than that it was great!“
“It was one of the best breakfasts I have had in a long time. Everything we ate was seasoned perfectly, and the sausage and bacon were delicious. They have huge breakfast sausage links that are incredible. The hash browns and pancakes were served in small portions. Wish they were served with larger portions on the plate. “I order some large soup today e got a different order from a different restaurant. So I order from Cafe Zupas e got something from Sweet Tomatoes. So I try to call Uber to let them know that I had the wrong order and couldn’t talk to anyone. So I called Cafe Zupas and I explained to them what happened and the guy came to deliver my order himself in 10 minutes e I was very impressed with his customer service.????“

They seem to care about their customers and building those long lasting relationships with the Filipino community, Sometimes I feel like I am actually a part of their family like a nephew or something! ? I must say, Enjoying my meal while OPM is playing, makes me feel like I’m in the phillipines! Sir Lakay the head chef and kuya Chan really know how to throw down in the kitchen! Some of My favorite dishes are the Crispy Binagoongan, Pancit Sotanghon(on the dry side with extra lemons! I like my pancit Maasim) Pinakbet, Chicken Inasal with Java and the Crispy Pata Kare-Kare with bagoong on the side for that savory, satisfying, crunchy, salty bite! Ate Gina who works in the bar is super awesome too! She is always fun to talk to with a good sense of humor and positive outlook on life she makes the best and prettiest looking desserts! Sometimes when I dine I get to see Jovi I think he also goes by Jmic and Carl those guys are cool! ? what I love the most about Hong Ning is how they are very family oriented, you feel at home when you come to dine with your friends and families. I’ve tried other Filipino restos in Chicago, and trust me I will always without a doubt love Hong Ning the most, It’s also super cool how many famous Filipino artistas have dined in there so far including myself! It's a small restaurant with table service which I believe is first come, first served, and they also have a large freezer with many types of food off their menu that you can make at home. Seemed like there were quite a few people doing carry out as well. It is a cute place with lots of ethnic decor. I had the stuffed cabbage with a side of pierogi and my husband had a big platter with sausage, etc. - all delicious. The potato pancakes were perfect! We will definitely be back!“
